The wait

Part-14

"Pratim Jadhav,age-23 ,height -5'2. Mumbai me ek private college me graduation ka student hai,aur Dadar ke ek chawl me apni family ke sath rehta hai. Papa ek private company me job karte hain,aur maa housewife hain.
inn dono ke sath sath Pratim ka ek chhota bhai,aur ek badi behen bhi hai .

Shree finished reading the file in a go,and looked up to Rathore in surprise.

"bas itna hi information? Ye toh shuru hote hi khatam ho gaya.

"aesa lagta hai jaise khali formality ke liye information nikala ho local police ne.

Sakshi commented shaking her head.

"matlab commissioner sir jo keh rahe the vo sach hai,police chahti hi nahi ki iss case ki investigation ho.

Ayesha pointed out.

"toh hame sab kuch shuru se shuru karna hai.

Chhotu sighed.

"team hamare pass waqt bahut kam hai,issliye hame jaldi se decide karna hai kaun kya karega aur kaise.kisiko kuch idea hai.?

Rathore narrowed his gaze at them,hence all started thinking on their own.

"Friends.

Uske koi friends toh honge jinhe iss bare me kuch pata hoga.?

Ayesha started after a few mins of silence.

"per uske friends se baat karne ke liye hum ETF officers banke toh ni jaa sakte.

Chhotu objected.

"haan toh koi baat ni,humme se koi college student banke chala jayega information collect karne uss college me.

Sakshi shrugged.

"per jaayega kaun.?

Riya spoke for the first time in the conversation.

"mai.college students se information nikalna mera baayein hath ka khel hai.

Sakshi grinned.

"nahi sakshi iss kaam ke liye Shree fit hai,aur Shree Liza ko bol do tumhare sath college jaane ke liye; incase Pratim ke kuch girl friends bhi ho.

Rathore chirped ,causing Shree's eyes to widen.

"sir mai? Aur Liza.? Aur mai usse bolun.?

"yahan kisi aur ka naam shree hai.?

Rathore asked back raising his brows.

"uh..nahi sir.

Shree cleared his throat awkwardly,meanwhile others suppressed their laugh.

"toh definitely maine ye kaam karne ke liye tumhe hi kaha hai,Shree.

Rathore mocked,turning to others.

"oye tu toh aese react kar raha hai jaise Liza ke sath jaane ke liye tu bilkul bhi excited ni hai.

Chhotu teased him,whishpering in a low voice.

"excited? Haan jarur hogi agar adhe raste tak vo mera khoon ni karegi toh.

Shree gulped,clearly remembering their last fight.

Liza had thrown a freaking stone after their fight,then how he would ask her to accompany him to the college.?

"any problem Shree.?

Rathore's stern voice brought him back to the earth and he reluctantly shook his head.

"no.no sir koi problem ni hai,mai boldunga usse.

"good.what next.?

"humme se kisiko vo chawl jaana chahiye jahan Pratim rehta hai,agar vo kidnap hua hai toh kidnappers jarur uske family ko contact karenge ,aur agar vo kidnap nib hi hua hai tab bhi vo jarur apne family ki touch me hoga.

Arjun breathed in a go.

"mai bhi wohi soch raha tha Rawte.toh Sakshi aur mai vo chawl me jaayenge jhuthe kiraydaar banke.

Rawte tum aur Chhotu apne khabriyon ko alert karo aur pata lagao Mumbai me kitne gangs active hai aur kaun kaun hamle ki plan kar raha hai.Riya ,Ayesha tum dono sari gangs ki activities pen ajar rakho,plus vo local police pe bhi .
hame wahan se zarur kuch milega.understood.?

Rathore got up from his seat ,awaiting answers from his team.

"yes sir. All chorused except Arjun.

"ok team.get to work now.

As soon as Rathore announced all got up from their respective seats to get with their work done.

"Arey yar aese cases me rathore sir hamesha mujhe fasa dete hain,pure team me ek mai hi college going student lagta hun kya.?

Kabhi kabhi toh samajh me ni aata sab mujhe zyada handsome samajhte hain ya bachha.

Isse achha toh paperwork dedete.kahan mai office me laptop ke sath baithne wala aur kahan yahan college ki bachon se dhakke kha raha hun.

Shree blabbered to himself while walking through the college corridor and beat back a groan when suddenly he was jerked forward as his foot hit something on the way.

Maintaining his balance he turned to see what he collided with, instead found another foot stretched on the way intentionally to make him trip.

He looked up to meet with few guys probably from the same college laughing ,chuckling at their victory and he folded his arms across his chest to glare them.

"junior ho.?

One of the guys asked straightening himself.

Shree nodded his head not bothering to open his mouth when the other guy approached him quickly.

"hamare rehte koi junior sar uthake chal ni sakta aur tu aese akad ke khada hai? Pata hai tera haal kya hoga.?

"nahi .kya hoga.?

Shree's brows raised.

"akad toh aese kar raha hai jaise police me hai.the guy taunted,to which shree let out a chuckle patting the guy's shoulder.

"jaa chhod diya tujhe.

He turned to leave while the guy stretched his hand to grab him by collar furiously ,only to be stopped by another hand in the mid way ,by a girl's hand t be precise.

Shree whipped his head to his right only to find Liza holding the guy's hand and started bending it in the opposite direction earning a wince from the guy.

The guys stood up watching the girl almost breaking their friend's hand and suddenly he was pushed backwards towards them by her.

"next time dhyan rakhna ,warna aur bahut kuch tod sakti hun.

Liza threatened them with a glare,then motioned Shree to leave with her.

"that was not needed.

Shree spoke hiding his smile.

"tumhare liye ni kiya maine.vo aur bhi students ko aese hi pareshan karte,issliye kiya.

Liza replied straight,causing a frown to form on his frame.

"haan haan aur mai bhi bolne wala tha unhe.i mean karne wala tha.

"sure.Specky.

Liza rolled her eyes.

"huh.wese kahan thi tum ? Rathore sir ne hum dono ko yahan ek sath bheja hai ok? Toh job hi karna hai sath me hi karna hai.

"mai college ke principal se baat karne gayi thi,nit oh hame classes me entries kaise milegi? Aur ye kaam Rathore sir ne mujhe akele karne ke liye kaha tha.

Came liza's quick retort and shree groaned.

"ji namastey , mera naam Sameer shah hai aur ye meri behen Sakshi.hum dono ko ek karma kiraye pe chahiye tha aur kisine kaha ki aap hi chawl ki zimmedari leti hain toh issliye hum aapke pass aaye hain.

Rathore smiled gently at the lady ,with a smiling sakshi stood beside him.

"tum dono bas? Aur ghar me koi nahi.?

The lady asked them sternly.

"uh..ji nahi.hamare maa,baap bahut pehle hi gujar gaye ab toh bhaiya hi mere sabkuch hai.

Sakshi replied.

"thik hai.ek kholi khali toh hai.kiraya 2000 har mahina,aur 5000 advance.bolo chahiye.?

Rathore ,sakshi exchanged a look then turned to the lady ,who was waiting for their reply.

"ji ji jarur chalega.aap hame karma dikha dengi toh mai advance dedunga.

"thik hai,chalo.

The lady started walking away followed by Rathore & sakshi who observed the chawl properly on their way.

"ae tera shadi wadi ni hua hai kya.?

The lady questioned turning to rathore,and he let out an awkward laugh.

"vo...

"ji vo bhaiya ko bhabhi toh pasand aagayi hai,bas bolna baaki hai.

Sakshi interrupted before he could reply,earning a side glare from him; but she cared less.

"achha hai re. Umar bhi jaa raha hai tera shadi ka,ho sake toh jaldi se karle.the lady suggested,to which Sakshi chuckled and rathore threw another glare at her ,forcing a smile at the lady.

"Sir,riya bata rahi thi ki ye Mansukh ek jana mana muzrim hai ,kai baar jail jaa chuka hai. Pichle 6 mahino se kuch kiya ni tha ,per ab phir se apni gang ko jod raha hai.uska adda issi building ke upar hai.

Chhotu said eyeing up to the building ,while Arjun took off his goggle inspecting the surroundings.

"tum sidhe taraf se andar jao,mai dusri taraf se andar jaata hun.

"ji sir.

Chhotu entered the building taking his gun out and carefully climbed the stairs .

Arjun took the other way to climb the building,just when a goon spotted Chhotu on the stairs and advanced towards him furiously.

"ae kaun hai tu? Yahan kaise pahuncha.?

"tujhse hi milne aaya hun.

Chhotu flashed a mocking grin at him ,then pointed the gun at his forehead.

The goon gritted his teeth pushing Chhotu backwards and ran upstairs to alert his other gang members.

"ae ruk.

Chhotu followed him quickly ,but as soon as he reached the second floor the whole gang was waiting for him to fight back.

The fight started that moment ,whereas Arjun reached the floor taking a charge at the gang leader Mansukh.

He threw few punches on his face effortlessly but stopped on suddenly finding Chhotu in trouble ,since half of the gang were over him ready to strangle him to death.

Arjun let go Mansukh of his hand ,and rushed to rescue Chhotu and by taking the chance Mansukh ran away.

"sir,vo Mansukh bhaag gaya.

Chhotu huffed,once after all the goons fell flat on the floor.

"bhaag ke jaayega kahan.?

Arjun spoke thoughtfully,then both shared a look before running in different directions.

Mansukh ,the gang leader took the small narrow path and stood near a wall panting for breath and suddenly a creepy smile appeared on his face thinking how he made a fool of his attackers and escaped; but his smile didn't last long as his gaze fell on Chhotu walking towards him with a murderous look on his face and he made an attempt to run from the other way,instead was blocked by Arjun.

"Riya ,ye dekha tumne? Senior inspector Siraj ,aur uski property list toh uski 5 saal ki service income se bhi 3 guna zyada hai.

Ayesha exclaimed in shock showing her a file on her laptop.

"iska matlab ye pehli baar ni hai jo Inspector Siraj koi illegal kaam kar raha hai.

Riya commented shaking her head.

"kabhi kabhi bahut hairani hoti hai ki kaise log apne farz ka galat faida uthate hain.

"hmm..aur zyada hairani ki baat ye hai ki system se aese aur bhi bahut log hain.

Khair mera ek khabri wahan hai,mai usse bolti hun siraj pen ajar rakhe.

Riya stood up from her chair to make a call.

"ok.tab tak mai hum dono ke liye coffee banati hun.

Ayesha walked towards the pantry.

Meanwhile riya finished the call and came back when her gaze fell on the drawyers ,causing her face to fall a little.

"shree bol raha tha kisi bhi drawyer me ho sakta hai,mai ek baar check kar leti hun.

Murmuring to herself she started checking every drawyer attentively ,failing to notice when ayesha came standing at her back with a quizzical face.

"Riya.?

"haan.?

Riya turned around with a jolt.

"kya kar rahi ho? Kuch dhund rahi ho.?

"uh..actually purana office jab tha tab maine apni ek cheez mere drawyer me rakhi thi.ab dhund rahi hunt oh mil ni raha hai.

Riya sighed.

"kaunsi cheez.?

Ayesha asked her again.

"aur office change hone ke baad maine hi sare drawyers arrange kiye the,aur maine tumhari sari cheezein tumhari drawyer me hi rakh diya tha.kyunki Rathore sir ne mujhe pehle hi kaha tha tumhari cheezein jahan hai wahan rakhne ke liye.

She added quickly.

"kya? Tumne jo tha wohi rakha tha? Uh..tumse kuch miss ni hua.?

Riya questioned her hopefully.

"nahi.jo tha wohi tha .kuch miss ni hua.waise tum dhund kya rahi ho.?

"vo...

Before Riya could complete ,Ayesha's phone buzzed thus she excused herself leaving Riya alone behind.

"agar vo chiz drawyer me nit hi toh gayi kahan? Riya tu itni careless kaise ho sakti hai.?

Riya muttered under her breathe,frustrated with herself.

3 days later...

"sir, Pratim ke college se kuch khas information ni mila.bas ek ladka hai Nrupal jo ussi ke chawl me rehta hai aur Pratim usse bahut darta tha.per Pratim ke friends ke mutabik Nrupal pichle kuch dino se pratim se bahut milta julta tha aur dono me kya baat hoti thi kisiko ni pata.

Shree breathed in a go taking a seat on his chair.

"humne jitney bhi gangs pe attack kiye ,kisike pass bhi Pratim ni mila .usse kahin maar toh ni diya.?

Chhotu questioned to himself,causing the whole conference room to fall silent.

"nahin chhotu,maarna hota toh vo ussi din usse maar dete,kidnap karke nil eke jaate.

Arjun objected.

"chawl me Pratim ke family me kuch suspect karne jaisa mila hi nahi.vo log toh bte ke gum me dube hue hain.

Sakshi sighed.

"SI SIRAJ ke khilaf hamare pass kaafi proofs hai per aesa lagta hai jiase vo alert hogaya hai.koi suspective activity ni.

Riya shrugged.

"local police ne already Pratim ka case close kardiya hai,kal Ganesh Utsav hai uar abhi tak hamare hath kuch ni laga.damn it.

Rathore roared banging his fist on the glass table,when he noticed arjun sitting in silence,and calmly twirling a pen inbetween his fingers.

"i hope Rawte kit um abhi case ke bare me hi soch rahe ho.

"nahi. Mai hamari investigation kahan chhut gayi wo soch raha hun rathore.

Came Arjun's quick reply,making all eyes turn to him.

"matlab sir.?

Ayesha piped in.

"matlab ye hai Ayesha hum case ke piche bhaagne me itne lage hue the,ki hamare sare plans fail hone ki wajah ni dekh paaye.

"paheli suljhane ka time ni hai Rawte.sidhe sidhe kaho kehna kya chahte ho.?

Rathore snapped at him angrily.

"thik hai.sidhe sidhe hi bolta hun Sir.. ye job hi case ka mastermind hai usse hamare bare me pata hai,hamare sare plans ke bare me pata hai usse.

Arjun explained earning gasps from his fellow teammates.

"matlab hamare sare plans issliye fail ho rahe hain kyunki unhe hamare sare moves ke bare me already pata hai.?

Riya enquired.

"haan Riya.unhe pata hai hum ETF officers hai,aur hum iss case ki investigation kar rahe hain.

"toh kya aesa ho sakta hai ki ab tak hume jitney suspects mile hain vo suspects ho hi nahi.bas hame dikkhane ke liye bane ho.?

Chhotu narrowed his gaze.

"matlab ab tak ka sara investigation jhuth tha.kisine hame hi bewakoof banaya.

Shree muttered in disbelief.

"nahi shree bewakoof nahi,koi hame gumrah karne ki koshis kar raha hai.hamara dhyan dusri taraf rakh ke vo mastermind kuch uar karne wala hai.

Rathore pointed out thoughtfully.

"exactly Rathore.koi local gang isme involve ni hai matlab koi apni khudki gang banake apna plan bana raha hai.

"per ab pata kaise chalega kya plan hai,aur kaun bana raha hai? "

"pata chalega sakshi.kyunki in sare jhuth me ek sach hai aur vo hai SI Siraj.ussi ko pakadte hain sachai khud samne ajayegi.

Rathore clenched his jaw.

"tum siraj ke pass jao Rathore aur mai Chawl Pratim ke family ke pass jaata hun.unhe bhi bahut kuch pata hai,jo bolne ka time agaya hai unka.

Arjun stood up taking his gun along with him.

"Riya tum chalo mere sath.

He commanded causing a small whin to escape from Sakshi's mouth.

"ok sir.

Riya nodded accompanying him ,while others fllowed Rathore.

"sir mai drive karti hun.

Riya told Arjun the moment they reached near the SUV ,to which arjun nodded taking the passenger seat.

She started driving silently ,whereas arjun stared outside of the window intently.

After few mins of silence he turned to take a glance at her before speaking up.

"koi pareshani hai Riya.?

Riya was taken a back at his sudden question but nevertheless shook her head.

"nahi sir.koi pareshani ni hai. "

"2 din se mark kar raha hun,tum disturbed ho.

He pressed further.

"no .nahi sir bas vo case ko leke thoda stress.kal Ganesh Utsav hai na aur abhi tak hame pata ni hai ki kya hone wala hai ,bas issliye.

She lied,and he knew it.

For some odd reason he could easily see how much disturbed she was ,even though she was giving her cent percent in the case yet the stress was there and it wasn't related to the case for sure; however he tried to convince himself not to keep it in mind but failed to do so ,much to his surprise.

Soon they reached near the chawl and parked the SUV outside of the chawl at a distance since the place seemed crowded.

As they made their way inside the big gate,all they could see was decorations,flowers,loud music,colors folating in the air more like a celebration.

"ek min suniye.yahan kya ho raha hai? Ganesh utsav toh kal hai na.?

Riya asked to a passerby lady who smiled at her.

"arey beta aaj hamare chawl ko pure 25 saal pure hogaye.issliye jashn manaya jaa raha hai.

"oh.

"hum Pratim ke ghar chalet hain.

Arjun muttered to which Riya agreed and both walked past a numerous number of people of the chawl avoiding the colors.

"ji namstey aap kaun.?

A lady answered the door which was getting knocked by the ETF officers.

"ETF.

Arjun showed his id and watched the lady's eyes getting widened in a fraction second.

"hame aapse kuch puch tach karni hai aur umeed hai ki aap sach sach jawab dengi.

Riya spoke strictly ,and both entered in.

There Rathore ,Ayesha ,chhotu,sakshi ,shree entered the lawn of a mansion which they find out to be of inspector siraj's.

"dekha sir ,adhe din duty se chhuti leta hai aur bunglow banaya hai alishan.

Shree spoke eyeing the mansion.

"pata ni kitne logon ki ashuon se ye mehel khada kiya hoga isne.

Sakshi shook her head.

"per in lgon ko kabhi koi afsos ni hota.

Chhotu piped in.

"afsos ni ab toh saza hoga chhotu.

Rathore broke his silence,and suddenly they were surrounded by security officers with loaded guns in their hands.

"kaun ho tum log,aur aese kaise andar ghus aaye.?

One security guard asked.

"hum yahan siraj se milne aaye hain.aur usse puch lena ki hum kaun hai.

Rathore clenched his jaw pointing back his gun to him and so did others.

"boys back off.The ETF team khud milne aayi hai mujhse.

A voice spoke from the entrance of the lawn ,hence all eyes turned to inspector Siraj himself and his security bent the guns low.

"so glad to see you ACP Sameer Damsingh Rathore.

Siraj continued,approaching them lazily.

Rathore gritted his teeth.

He hates his middle name and so the man in front of him.

"lagta hai tumhe hamare aane ki khabar thi.

"aur nit oh kya? Issliye toh chhuti li hui hai office se.

Came siraj's quick reply.

"jab tumhe sab kuch pata hi hai toh ye bhi shanti se boldo ki chal kya raha hai.?

Shree narrowed his gaze,earning a chuckle from siraj.

"itni jaldi kya hai officer? Thodi khatirdari toh karlun aap logon ki.boliye kyka loge sab? Arey ek min khatirdaari se yaad aya ACP Arjun kahin gaye hain kya? Jahan bhi hai unke swagat ka intezam pehle se hogaya hai.

Everyone's brows furrowed together in confusion,and siraj explained.

"kya hai na hum logon ka ache se milna toh hone se raha toh bure me hi sahi.ab tak toh wahan sab kuch shuru hogaya hoga.

As soon as he finished his line Rathore grabbed him by his collar.

"kya matlab hai tumhara.?

"thodi dair aur ,phir aapko bhi matlab pata chal jaayega ACP sahab.

Siraj smirked,unfetched by Rathore's fury.

"shree,Rawte ko call karo.

Rathore ordered ,glaring Siraj hard.

"yes sir.

Shree quickly took his mobile out of his pant pocket and dialed Arjun's number but it went unanswered.

"sir, Arjun sir phone ni utha rahe hain. "

At this Siraj let out a lough.

"mai Riya ko call Karti hun. "

Ayesha dialed Riya's number, and to her dismay it too went unanswered.

"Riya bhi phone ni utha rahi hai. "

"jao officers jao pehle unke pass jao. Mai toh yahi hun, phir baat karenge. "

Siraj chuckled, when Rathore pushed him backwards rushing towards the exit followed by others.

"Arjun sir, Ri dono khatre me hai. Sir hame jald hi chawl pahunchna padega. "
Chhotu murmured as they approached the SUV and drove away.

"aapka beta kahan hai.? "
Riya repeated her question, to the lady who was on the verge of tears.

"meri baat maniye madam aur yahan se chale jaiye. Aapke liye Wohi achha hai. "

The lady pleaded, causing Riya's forehead to crease confusingly.
Just then her gaze fell on something at the lady's back and turned to Arjun to inform him, but he wasn't there anymore.

"Arjun sir.? "

Passing a look at the lady she went out of the room in search of Arjun and started looking here and there.

"Arjun sir kahan chale gaye.? "

"um.. Excuse me? Aapne yahan Kisiko dekha, lambe height ke black shirt aur jeans pehna hai unhone.? "

She asked to a guy of the chawl.

"haan vo sayad niche gaye hain. "

The guy replied, thus Riya standing near the railing moved her eyes around, but there was no tress of him.

O...
Aaja aaja dil ke gaaon
Raahein dekhe koi

Jaagegi phir kismat sohne

She ignored the song and was about to scoot downstairs but her foot stopped dead on the track, as soon as her eyes fell on the bunch of chawl people dancing dowanstairs and the one who had started dancing in the center was none other than Arjun himself.

Arjun smiled at those people who came to accompany him in the dance, whereas Riya stilled.

I choosed Raanjhanaa for Arjun since that's my favorite song and always imagined Arjun dancing on it...
So yeah abhi toh ETF ka reaction bhi baaki hai

"sir Arjun sir ka SUV abhi tak bahar hi hai,matlab vo dono abhi tak chawl me hi hai.

Ayesha spoke as they stood near the entry gate of the chawl.

"per dono phone kyun ni utha rahe hain.?

Chhotu muttered trying Riya's number once again.

"yahan toh kuch celebration jaisa chal raha hai.yahan arjun aur Riya ko kaise dhundenge.?

Sakshi murmured eyeing the crowd gathered up in the chawl.

"kuch bhi ho guys hame unn dono ko jald hi dhundna hai.

Shree chirped sighing,as arjun's phone rings went unanswered yet again.

"team maine kuch officers ko bhej diya hai siraj ko arrest karne ke liye,abhi hame sabse pehle Riya aur Rawte ko dhundna hai.so c'mon hurry up.

Rathore breathed in a go after finishing a call,and entered the chawl accompanied by others.

For them looking around in search of their two officers was a little bit difficult since the air was filled with colors,flower petals were floating everywhere and the loud music wasn't helping much.

Shree muttered protecting his eyes from the colors,just when Ayesha halted her steps staring ahead at someone in surprise.

Sakshi tried to pull by her hand,but she didn't buzz with her mouth slightly open.

As soon as her mouth left the name all attentions were now turned to her.

Shree questioned roaming his eyes around.

"Ayesha ,kahan hai Rawte.?

Rathore asked calmly,hence Ayesha stretched her hand to her front and all eyes moved to the direction she was pointing.

Rathore's worried face turned to a blank one,but surprisingly he wasn't angry; instead he was astonished en stunned to be precise.

He couldn't remember the last time he had seen Arjun Rawte smiling this much widely,let alone dancing among so many people.

A loud gasp escaped from Sakshi's mouth as he eyed arjun's perfect dance steps en blinked again and again to ensure it wasn't a dream.

Chhotu muttered in disbelief rubbing off his eyes.

"agar aesa hai chhotu ,toh jarur hum sab ke aankhon me bhi kuch chala gaya hai,kyunki hum sabko arjun sir dance karte hue dikh rahe hain.

Ayesha mumbled,still in a daze.

Shree held his forehead and leaned over sakshi's shoulder to prevent himself from falling down ,while she held him to keep their balance.

"shree kya hua tumhe.?

"pata nahi,mujhe sab kuch ghumta hua najar aaraha hai.

"shree sambhal khudko.pata ni kyun per mujhe aesi feeling arahi hai ki ye sirf trailer hai.

Chhotu murmured near his ear,not diverting his eyes from arjun once.

There were two people who were not in a condition to speak.

Rathore, who was watching Arjun intently and Riya,who was yet to come over her stiff posture.

Shree asked after a long term of silence .

Sakshi replied pointing at Riya's direction near the railing and others let out a sigh of relief finding both of them safe ; but then the Arjun Rawte was still dancing.

Chhotu muttered stealing a glance at her ,then back to Arjun.

Riya finally blinked taking all the happening around her ,then moved her eyes to Arjun ;who was quite engrossed in enjoying himself.

Confused with him,and all the situation she started climbing off the stairs not blinking her eyes from Arjun for once.

Her hair was now showered with the faint colours of the air,flower petals but she didn't bother to get rid of them as her mind was too much occupied over that one person,who had now brought an old lady ,dancing and him twirling her with a never ending smile on his face.

As she reached downstairs stood at a distance ,still eyeing Arjun, when some from the people being in engrossed in the celebration unintentionally pushed her forward.

She tried to get out of the crowd ,instead was pushed further until her back with something,causing her to turn around that instant only to realise that something was none other than Arjun's broad chest.

He paused his dance spotting Riya standing close to him with a blank look and he couldn't avert his eyes.

Suddenly he was pulled by a random guy to continue the dance,hence he turned his back to Riya and resumed his dance.

Riya stood there only,watching the Arjun she had never seen whereas the whole ETF was a mute spectator of the scenario with Shree ,chhotu exchanging glances,Ayesha ,sakshi trying to comprehend the silent moment between riya & Arjun and Rathore..well. his face was unreadable.

Riya blinked sudddenly finding arjun leaving dancing and approaching her with quick steps ,en the other moment he was holding her wrist making his way out of the chawl along with him.

Riya being in a daze didn't question first,but when her subconscious kicked in she eyed arjun's hand holding hers then up to him.

"sir aap kya...

The rest of the question died in her throat as soon as her gaze fell on the other team members near the entrance of the hall ,causing her forehead to crease with confused lines and so of Arjun's.

"tum sab yahan.?

Arjun asked on reaching near them,and left Riya's hand.

Instead of answering all eyed him questioningly including Riya ,while he didn't seem bothered by their looks at all,and roamed his eyes around.

"hame yahan se nikalna padega jald se jald.let's go.

Arjun spoke eyeing the team.

Rathore opened his mouth to question him but shut it deciding to deal with him later and nodded.

Soon they got inside the SUVS en drove away ,with everyone's mind still around whatever happened in the chawl.

As the SUVs were driving through a lonely road Arjun felt Rathore's car overtaking him and blocking his way in the mid way making him apply a break that instant.

"tum bhale hi normal pertain kar sakte ho Rawte per mai nahi.so now you have to answer WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT.?'

Rathore chirped coldly getting out of the car,when others braced themselves for their two chief's heated argument.

"arjun sir toh gaye.

Shree muttered in a low voice.

"kis bare me baat kar rahe ho Rathore.?

Arjun asked calmly leaning against his SUV.

"Really rawte? Tumhe ni pata? Yahan hum itni baar tum dno ka phone try kar rahe the,koi answer ni kuch ni.aur jab hum wahan pahunche toh kya dekhte hain ,Arjun suryakant Rawte busy in entertaining himself.

Rathore mocked ,glaring him.

"vo sorry sir,mera phone gaadi me reh gaya tha.

Riya spoke checking her phone quickly.

"aur tumhara Rawte.?

Rathore's brows raised.

Arjun took the phone out of his jeans pocket only to see various missed calls from Shree,sakshi,chotu and Rathore himself.

"wahan shor me pata ni chala kab ring hua.

"ofcourse Rawte.sunai deta bhi kaise.?

"rathore wahan attack hone wala tha,guns ready the hamare liye.maine vo sab kiya taaki vo distract ho jaaye bheed me aur chawl me koi gunshot na ho.

Arjun explained.

"per Arjun tumhe kaise pata chala wahan gunshot hone wala hai.?

Sakshi questioned,eyeing him quizzically.

"kyunki ye sab jisne plan kiya maine ussi ke muh se suna ye sab.

Saari planning Ganesh Utsav ke liye nahi Rathore,vo chawl ko udane ke liye bana hai.

As soon as Arjun finished all looked at him in disbelief.

"kya.?

Ayesha's eyes widened.

"jab mai aur riya chawl me gaye tabhi mujhe shaq hogaya tha kuch gadbad hai.nahi toh chawl ke 25^th anniversary pe hatiyaron ka kya kaam?

Humne dhyan ni diya per chawl ke aas pass ka area khali ho chukka hai,ek industrialist wahan ek company banana chahta hai ,toh zahir si baat hai ek mamuli chawl company ki shova ni badhayegi.

Pratm ke family ke alawa maine wahan kucch aur families se puch tach kiya tha,unhe vo jagah khali karne ke liye kaha gaya tha.

Isske liye unhe paise bhi offer kiy gaye the per wahan ke logon ne chawl chhodne se mana kar diya.

Aur issliye ye sab planning ki gayi,Pratim ko bhi abhi tak zinda rakha hai kyunki aakhir me wohi explosives fit karega aur chawl girne ke baad sara ilzam usske sar pe dala diya jaayega.

Arjun breathed in a go.

"usme toh pratim ki family bhi rehti hai,toh pratim khud apni fmily ko maarna chahta hai.?

Sakshi piped in.

"nahi sakshi, pratim ki family chawl girne se pehle vo jagah chhodne wali thi .jab hum uske ghar gaye toh bed ke suitcases rakhe hue the.jo sayad Riya ke najar me bhi gaya tha.right Riya.?

Arjun turned to her who had a thoughtful look on her face.

"haan sir mai wohi kehne aapke pass arahi thi,aur sayad unhe chawl girne ki baat unhe bhi pata hai,issliye unhone mujhse kaha wahan se jaane ke liye.

Riya replied.

"toh mastermind vo business man hai,per chawl me se koi toh uski help jarur kar raha hoga.

Chhotu chirped confidently.

"vo chawl ki mukhiya,Rajni devi.

Rathore nodded his head in acknowledgement.

"right.

Arjun agreed with him.

"Rajni Devi ka beta Partim ko hamesha dara ke rakhta tha, per Pichle Kuch dino se vo Uske sath achhe se baat kar raha tha, aur dono Kuch secretly discuss kar rahe the.

Sayad Rajni Devi ke bete ne Pratim ko iss kaam ke liye manaya hoga ya phir dhamkaya hoga.

Aur wese bhi Rajni Devi ke jaankari ke bina itna bada kaam ni hosakta. "

Rathore explained.

"per sir vo sab chawl me hi the, aur hum wahin unhe pakad sakte the. Wapas kyun aagaye hum.? "

Riya questioned.

"Agar hum wahan Kuch karte toh vo log chawl walon pe bhi attack kar dete. "

Rathore answered her.

"vo log hum tak ni pahunch sake toh Kya, hum unke pass chale jaate hain. Ye game khatam karte hain. "

Arjun chirped wearing his goggle.

Rathore nodded his head , en others too agreed with their two chiefs.

Few hours later...

The case was finally solved after a lot of ruckus, en the culprits were arrested before they could harm the chawl.

Rathore and Arjun went to the commissionarate office as per the commissioner's call, while Sakshi, Chhotu, Shree, Ayesha choosed the cafeteria to relax themselves in their chief's absence.

"achha hua Arjun sir, Rathore sir ni hai. Ni toh case khatam hote hi paper work pe bitha dete. "

Shree shook his head, sipping the coffee.

"Haan yaar. Per in sab me hum Kuch bhul ni rahe hain.? "

Sakshi narrowed her gaze.

"Kya.? "

Chhotu, Ayesha asked in union.

Sakshi shifted her focus to Shree, hoping he would know the answer but he simply shrugged his shoulders.

"Guys kal Ganesh Utsav hai. Hum puja ni karenge.?"

Sakshi squealed in excitement.

"arey haan hum toh bhul hi gaye the.

Planning karni padegi. Toh batao kaun Kya karega? "

Ayesha looked at her friends questioningly.

"umm..mai puja ka saman leke aaungi. "

Sakshi announced.

"mai phool le aaunga. "

Shree added.

"aur Ri Prasad leke aaye...*pause* ek min Ri kahan hai.? "

Shree looked around to find a trace of her, but she wasn't there.

"vo Riya Kuch report bana rahi thi. Usne kaha tha report khatam hone ke baad aajayegi. "

Came Ayesha's quick reply.

"arey ye ladki bhi.

Mai leke aata hun usse. "

Chhotu quickly walked out of the cafeteria towards the conference hall en entered in silently, where Riya was seated on her chair.

On a close look Chhotu noticed her focus wasn't on the notepad laying in front of her eyes, instead she seemed lost with a faint smile on her lips.

"Riya.? "

"uh.. Haan. "

She looked up to him, aware of his presence.

"Kya soch rahi ho.? "

"vo... "

"ab ye mat kehna ki Kuch nahi.

Maine dekha tumhari smile. Ab batao. "

"um... Chhotu mai bas aaj jo hua uss ke baare me soch rahi thi.

Riya replied thoughtfully.

"kiske ? arjun sir ke bare me.?

Chhotu raised his brow,to which she nodded her head.

"sach kahun toh mujhe bhi yakeen ni hua ,mujhe kya puri ETF ko yakeen ni hua ki Arjun sir dance kar rahe the,aur vo bhi itne ache se.

Per unka reason pata hote hi samajhme aagaya ki vo apne duty kee liye kuch bhi kar sakte hain.

Chhotu said,chuckling to himself.

"vo toh hai Chhotu per maine unhe aaj pehli baar itna khush dekha .case ke liye dance thik hai,per pata ni kyun mujhe aesa kyun laga ki vo sach me bahut khush the.

Riya explained .

"kya lagta hai kis baat pe itna khush honge.?

"pata nahi.ab Arjun sir ki baatein toh Arjun sir hi jaane.per achha laga unhe aese dekh ke.

"Riya.?

"haan.?

"tu bol kyun ni deti Arjun sir ko.?

"kya bolun.?

"tujhe pata hai mai kya bolne ke liye keh raha hun.

Chhotu answered in a duh tone.

"boldun.taakki vo phir se kabhi meri shakal na dekhein? No thanks.

Riya joked.

"nahi seriously.Arjun sir bahut lucky hain,aur unhe ye baat pata chalni chahiye.

"chhotu vo bas hame apni teammates maante hain.vo jo pehle iss tima ka hissa banna bhi ni chahte the aaj vo team ke sath cooperate kar rahe hain,aur mai ussi me khush hun.unnecccessarily apni feelings unpe daalke mai jo hai usse khona ni chahti.

"per Ri...

"chhodo uss baat ko.tum kuch kehne aaye the sayad,baatao.?

Chhotu sighed at her attempt to change the topic ,but nevertheless dropped the subject smiling at her.

"mai ye kehne aya tha kal office me Bappa ki puja karne ke liye sab planning kar rahe hain aur tujhe dhund rahe hain.

"haan toh chalo.kal puja shandaar tarikee se karenge.

She smiled back and accompanied chhotu towards the cafeteria.

There Ayesha who was standing near the door of the conference room earlier was now hiding near a corner seeing Chhotu & Riya taking an exit ,not to make them aware that she heard their entire conversation .

Once chhotu,riya were gone for the cafeteria Ayesha came out of the corner en recalled their convo.

"Arjun sir aur Riya.?

There Rathore was driving the SUV after returning from the commissionrate office ,while Arjun was seated on the passenger seat staring out of the window aimlessly.

Rathore took a glance at him ,then to the front focusing on the road when Arjun decided to break the silence between them.

"kuch kehna chahte ho rathore.?

"nahi.actually haan aaj jo bhi hua vo dubara ni hona chahiye.ETF ki second in command chief ho tum,koi teenager nahi.

Rathore chirped sternly.

"vo case ke liye tha Rathore.

"sure.

By the tone of Rathore arjun knew he didn't believe him,but then he doesn't feel like explaining him.

"wese achhi baat hai ki commissioner sir Riya ko uski bravery ke liye Reward dena chahte hain,jo vo pichle saal lene ke liye nahi thi.vo iss bare me Riya se baat bhi karne wale hain.isse usse aur encouragement milega.

Rathore started.

"mujhe ni lagta Riya ye reward ke liye haan kahegi.

Arjun said thoughtfully,hence Rathore turned to look at him confusingly.

"kyun.?

"kyunki hum officers ko duty ke liye reward ki jarurat ni hai Rathore .uss jagah pe mai ,tum ya koi aur ETF officer hota toh mana karta ,aur riya bhi wohi karegi.

Rathore nodded in understanding even though he wanted to say something else to Arjun but refrained himself .

This guy beside him was changing...Changing for good and probably he himself didn't know.
