Chapter 7

In the morning:

Arjun got up & came out of his room. He could not see Sakshi anywhere. Kaha gayi ye ladki itni subah subah? Kal raat ko toh teek taak thi aur maine aisa kuch nahi kaha jisse sunke vo gussa hojaaye. He was wondering what would have happened. Room main dekhta hoon. He stopped at an inch before knocking Sakshi's room's door when he heard sound of sobbing. Sakshi rorahi hain par kyu? Knock karoon ya nahi. He was not able to decide what to do. Aise hi chala jaata hoon. Silently he opened the door & peeked into the room. Sakshi was sitting on the bed holding a photo. Her back was towards the door so she was not able to see Arjun entering her room.

Maa Happy Birthday. Har saal ki tarah aaj bhi main akeli hi aapko wish karrahi hoon. Papa ko toh aap ka birthday bhi yaad nahi hoga. Mumma I miss u so much. Aap mujhe itni jaldi chodke kyu chali gayi? She was crying holding her mom's photo close to her chest.

Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you... Sakshi heard the song & turned towards the sound. Arjun was standing there with a smile on his face. Kya Sakshi aaj mumma ka birthday hain aur tum rorahi ho? Very bad. He took the photo from her hand & said Maa dekho apne beti ko. Khud bhi rorahi hain aur aap ko bhi rulaarahi hain. Ek number ki buddhu hain aapki beti. Birthday ke din koi rota hain kya? Ho sorry I forgot to introduce myself. Main Arjun. Aap to jaanti ho mujhe. Badnaseebi se aapke beti ka pati. When he saw Sakshi glaring towards him he corrected himself & said nahi maa kush naseebi se aapke beti ka pati. Happy Birthday Maa. Aap Sakshi ki fikar bilkul bhi math kijiye. Main hoon na uske khayaal rakhne keliye. Aaj roliya par aaj se uske aankhon main aansoon nahi aane doonga main ye promise hain meri taraf se. Waise maa aap ho bahut khoobsurat. Sakshi teek taak hain par aapki takkar ki nahi. Aap meri girl friend banogi? Sakshi burst out laughing. Maa aur tumhaari girlfriend? Seeing Sakshi's smile Arjun's heart filled with happiness. Yehi muskaan dekhna chahta hoon Sakshi tumhaare chehre par chahe main rahoon ya na rahoon. Haan meri girlfriend. Kyu tumhe koi problem hain? Aur ab jaldi se ready hojaavo hum baahar jaarahe hain. Baahar? Par kaha? Ho meri sawaalo ki dukaan pehle ready toh hojaavo waha jaakar tumhe khud pata chaljaayega. Maa Happy Birthday once again. Love u. Saying this he gave the photo to Sakshi & walked out of the room. Sakshi was happy seeing Arjun's love towards her mom. Maa main ready hojaati hoon nahi toh aapka boyfriend phir aajaayega aapke paas meri complaint karne.

Arjun ab toh batado yaar hum ja kaha rahe hain? Sakshi tum thodi der keliye chup nahi baitsakti? After sometime they reached Arjun's office. Arjun hum tumhaare office par kyu? He blindfolded her & took her to a room. When he took out the blindfold she stood there with a hand on her mouth. OMG!!! Arjun tumne ye sab kab aur kaise? Sakshi aaj maa ka birthday hain toh special toh honi chaahiye na? Aaj tak tum akeli hi celebrate karrahi thi par aaj se main rahoonga tumhaare saath hamesha. Arjun's collegues had arranged a party in the office. Sakshi cut the cake & fed Arjun. Thank you Arjun. Maa aaj bahut kush hogi thank you so much. You are welcome my girlfriend's daughter. He winked at her. Arjun tum paagal ho. Sakshi was getting well with his collegues. Arjun could not take his eyes off her. Her smiling face has become his reason to live.

Sakshi chalo aaj main tumhe shopping karvaata hoon. Shopping!!! Arjun I am so so happy today. Chalo jaldi chalo. Mera aur tumhaara saath kab tak rahega pata nahi Sakshi par jab tak main tumhaare life main hoon tumhaare har pal ko kushiyon se bhar doonga main. Ye wada hain mera.

They reached the shopping mall. After sometime Arjun could not see Sakshi anywhere. He tried to call her but she is not receiving the call. Damn it ab kaha doondoon main isse. Kahi usse kuch ho na gaya ho. Sakshi!! Sakshi!! Then he noticed Sakshi's purse, her mobile shattered on the ground. His heart started pounding. God Sakshi ko kya huwa, kaha gayi. He checked in the flat also but no sign of Sakshi. Kahi unn gundon ne toh. He furiously went towards them & started beating them. Kaha hain Sakshi kya kiya tumlogon ne uske saath? Arrey bhai humne toh aapke biwi ko dekha tak nahi usdin se yakeen karo humaara. Running his hand in his hair Arjun drove towards police station. Sir. My wife is missing. Humdono shopping karne gaye the aur kuch der baad vo kahi nahi mili waha. Uske purse aur phone bhikre pade the shopping mall main. Maine sab jagah dekhliya aur iss sheher main uske jaan pehchaan ka bhi koi nahi hain. Aap please usse doondiye. Ye hain uski photo. He handed over a photo to the officer, lodged the complaint & came back. Security guard told him that Sakshi has came back. He ran towards his flat. Sakshi was sitting on the couch crying non-stop. Sakshi tum kaha chaligayi thi. Main kitna ghabragaya tha pata hain. Jaan nikaaldi thi tumne meri. I beg you Sakshi phir se aisa math karna. He was pouring out all his feelings. He was not even listening to what Sakshi was trying to say. Arjun "Purab" "Purab" ko dekha maine she said sobbing continuously.

Arjun's heart stopped for a moment. Feelings which have started to grow in his heart crashed in that moment. Realisation struck him that Purab is the love of Sakshi. She loves him like anything. Their marriage is nothing but a compromise, a mere temporary arrangement. There is no future for their marriage. He saw teary face of Sakshi. Nahi main apne feelings ko Sakshi ke kushiyon se zyaada importance nahi desakta. She has become everything in my life. Main phir se pyaar karne laga hoon iski wajah sirf aur sirf Sakshi hi hain. Aur iskeliye mujhe apna pyaar phir se khona pade toh yehi sahi.

Sakshi calm down. Lo paani peelon. He bought glass of water for her. She drank it & stopped crying. He cupped her cheeks & asked Sakshi ab bataon kya huwa? Kaha dekha tumne Purab ko? Arjun jab hum shopping mall main the na waha dekha maine purab ko. I went after him par I could not reach him. She hugged Arjun and started crying. Arjun held her shoulders and said Sakshi please rona band karo. Dekho ye toh acchi baat haina ki tumne purab ko Mumbai main dekha. Vo yehi kahi aas paas main hoga. Hum doondenge usse Sakshi please don't cry. Accha batao aur kuch yaad hain tumhe? Sakshi after recalling something clutched Arjun's hand & said haan Arjun Purab car main tha red colour ki. Car ka number dekha tumne asked Arjun. Number. Hmm. MH 04 23... Arjun aage ka number main dekh nahi paayi. Arjun took Sakshi's hand onto his & said Koi baat nahi Sakshi. Ab shaant hojaavo tum. Main kuch karta hoon. Before Arjun turned to go Sakshi clutched his arm & said Arjun tum mere liye Purab ko doond rahe ho. Par kyu? Arjun wiped the lone tear which was struggling to come out of his eye, turned towards & said Dost ho tum meri. Itna toh main tumhaare liye kar hi sakta hoon. Haina? Pooja bahut unlucky hain Arjun jisne tumhe tukraadiya Sakshi whispered. Hearing Pooja's name from Sakshi stunned Arjun. Tum Pooja ko kaise jaanti ho Arjun asked impatiently. Tumhaare Book main uski photo mili aur kuch letters bhi. Sorry I should not have read your personal letters. Arjun smiled sadly & said Sakshi kaun lucky ya unlucky hain mujhe pata nahi. Par ye zaroor jaanta hoon ki Pooja keliye ab mere dil main koi bhi feelings nahi hain. She is my past. Uske related sab kuch jaladiya tha maine pata nahi ye kaise rehgaya. Arjun main tumse kuch pooch sakti hoon asked Sakshi. Haan poochon said Arjun. Pooja se tum kaise mile? Kab pyaar huwa? Aur tum dono alag kaise huwe? Sakshi I was in final year of college when Pooja joined college. Pehle nazar main hi mujhe usse pyaar hogaya. I proposed her immediately. She took time but finally said yes. Kuch din tak hum saath rahe par achaanak se ek din She called me & said ab uski life main mere liye koi jagah nahi hain aur vo kisi aur se shaadi karrahi hain. Ye bhi wish kiya ki meri life main koi na koi ladki zaroor aayegi jo mujhe sacche dil se pyaar karegi aur mujhe kush rakhegi. Mujhe gussa aagaya aur I had a fight with her future husband. Bas us din maa se maine vaada kiya ki main pooja se kabhi nahi miloonga aur zindagi main aage badoonga. He let out a sigh. Sakshi placed her hand on Arjun's shoulders & said Pooja ki kya majboori thi mujhe pata nahi Arjun par itna toh main bata sakti hoon ki you are really a good person, saaf dil ke ho tum. Bas intezaar hain uss ladki ka jo tumhaare zindagi ko kushiyon se bhar degi. Unable to hearing anything more from Sakshi Arjun Excused himself, went to his room & closed the door. I thought vo ladki tum thi Sakshi. Par main apne pyaar main itna anda hogaya tha ki ye socha hi nahi ki tumhaare dil main mere liye aise feelings hi nahi hain.
