Chotu was feeding Muskaan with one hand... and wiping his tears with the other hand...

"Hein... Chotu... kai zaala?" Shree poked...

"Yaar... pehli baar papa hone ka feeling ho rahi hai! Itni senti life main kabhi nahi hui!" Chotu wailed...

"Na na uncle... nahi lote... aap ache uncle ho na! Nahi lote..." Muskaan smiled...

Shree laughed... "Tu baap ke tarha acting bhi nahi kar paa raha... yeh cuto muto Muskaan teri maa ban rahi hai... haha..."

"Aye... mele Chotu uncle pe mat hasho!" Muskaan said innocently...

Making Chotu all the more emotional...

"Tujhe na Meena Kumari hona chahiye tha!" Shree chuckled...

"Ho gaya bak bak... ab main iss princess ko leke ghar javun? And Shree... brief Liza about the case okay?" Arjun gruffed from behind...

Muskaan waved them a bye and dozed off on Arjun's shoulders as he carried her to a normal Honda...

WHen he noticed an injury on her knee...

"Musu bacha... kya hua knee pe?" Arjun asked... concerned...

*yawn* "Ittu sha chot... woh uncle ne help kiya na... toh me okay now Helo..." Muskaan yawned and stretched a little...

Arjun frowned.. Uncle? Perhaps the watchman...

Keeping Muskaan on the back seat Arjun drove towards his home...

As he stepped out he carried a sleeping Muskaan on his arms and spoke to Liza about the case...

Once she stepped out Arjun settled on the sofa with Muskaan sleeping on his chest... her tiny fist clutching his shirt...

Arjun half smiled... after Sakshi goes away from here... he would keep in touch with this baby... apart from avenging Roshni's death he had perhaps found another reason to be alive... a child...

If what Sakshi said was true and Saarthak was connected to Sikandar... that meant that either Sakshi or Arjun are at the eyes of Sikandar...

Now... if the prey falls right in front of Sikandar's eyes then?

Arjun pondered over sometime... it meant that he would make himself the bait...

But that meant Muskaan would be in danger... wait she already is... because Sikandar might be knowing that Sakshi has a daughter...

Well it did make his job easier... but he vowed not to let anything happen to either of the girls...

He wouldn't be able to take up the guilt of someone else dying because of him...

He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath... stroking Muskaan's head when he heard a faint whisper...

He gently kept Muskaan on her bed and walked towards Sakshi's room...

"Arrey... aa gaye?" Sakshi gave him a half smile...

"Haan... bas kuch hi minute pehle... I picked up Muskaan as well... wo so rahi hai... woh Chotu ne biryani khilaya tha na... waise... ab tum kaisi ho?" He asked... forwarding a glass of water...

"Main almost theek hoon... after a week I can get back to work.. hopefully..." Sakshi smiled... while Arjun gazed back at her...

"So... Tum... Sakshi I needed a favor..." Arjun said...

"Anything for you... batao kya chahiye?" Sakshi smiled...

"I need the files and research you accessed to track Saarthak and Sikandar..." Arjun said and saw Sakshi hesitate...

"Arjun... par..." Sakshi started but Arjun looked aside... hurt...

"I know... you too can't help me... jiske paas files hai woh yakeen nahi karta ki Sikandar exist karta hai... aur jo janta hai woh mujhe files de hi nahi rahe hai... you just said anything for me... kya tum mere liye bas itna nahi kar sakti ho Sakshi?" Arjun turned aside...

Sakshi bit her lips...

"Arjun..." she called out softly...

He turned towards the other side...

"Nahi baat karni hai mujhe tumse...I do so much for you... tumhe bachaya... apna ghar leke aaya... joh maine Roshni ke baad kabhi nahi khola... Muskaan ko apna bacha jaise treat kar raha hoon... tumhe look after kar raha hoon... but you can't even do anything for me!" Arjun snapped at her...

Followed was a minute of awkward silence...

Arjun turned back to see Sakshi staring at him with shock...

She gulped back and turned her face aside...

She picked up her phone...

"Kya..." Arjun started...

"Ayesha... yeah... main bol rahi hoon... is it possible if I live with you... don't worry saari kharch main bhar dungi..." Sakhi started and he phone was taken from her hand by Arjun...

"Ayesha it's nothing... we just had an argument... bye..." he kept the phone aside and looked at Sakshi's hurt face...

"Okay Sakshi I am sorry..." Arjun sighed...

"I hate to be injured... kyunki mujhe kisipe boj hona acha nahi lagta Arjun... over that you have to look after Muski too... tumhe nahi pata... this is the 2nd time I have ben helped by someone... and it hurts... just don't talk to me... the minute I become fine... which I guess is within few days I can start walking... I would do whatever is necessary..." Sakshi said icily...

"Okay Sakshi... listen you got me wrong... see am sor.." Arjun was cut off by Sakshi as she frustratedly put her head on the bedrest...

"Discussion's over Arjun..." she gritted...

He stomped his foot and left...

His this very anger is what made Sakshi wary of giving her leads...

He would probably find one and hunt on that which would result her other leads to become null and void...

Burden... it hit her... she hated this voice... she tried to recall her happy days with her sister and father...

Life had changed her... from a young mom at 18... to having lost her family... to getting betrayed on the night of her marriage... and to know that her to be husband is the one who killed her father... life wasn't easy at all...

A week had passed by and Sakshi could take slow soft steps around the house... she needed to get active again...

She practically had stopped speaking to Arjun all in all...

Arjun was angry with her quiet behaviour but due to her illness he chose to be mum about the matter...

But one day Sakshi blasted on Arjun...

Arjun had quietly called Shree and asked him to hack Sakshi's laptop so as to he can retrieve information...

"Sir are you sure?" Shree asked...

"Abhi kar..." Arjun asked and Shree began typing when a furious voice blasted in...

"What are you doing to my laptop?" Sakshi squinted her gaze towards Arjun and Shree...

"Kuch nahi..." Arjun said... while Sakshi just shook her head...

"This is disgusting Arjun... aaj main yaha aayi thi to give you the information myself... soch ki shayad tum ab woh gussewaale nahi ho... but no... am wrong! Hacking! Really!" Sakshi grit her teeth...

"Shree... abhi ke abhi niklo yaha se... go to Sameer lest you want me to call Sameer and tell ki you were hacking my laptop..." Sakshi glared...

"Bye Sakshi..." Shree quipped and left...

Sakshi looked at Arjun and just shook her head...

As they sat for having dinner... Muskaan noticed the heated tension between the two most favorite people of her life...

"Helo... aap aul mumma baat kyun nahi kal lahe hai..." Muskaan asked while they were having dinner...

Sakshi tried to eat... damn her hand...

"Muso... chup chap khaana khao..." Sakshi glared...

"Mumma ko pucho agar khaane main koi madat chahiye..." Arjun told Muskaan...

"Muskaan bata de ki mujhe koi bhook nahi hai..." Sakshi got up from the dining table...

"Muski... mumma ko bata ki lunch main sirf sandwich khayi aur dinner khaana is a must... agar woh phirse bimar padna na chahi toh!" Arjun told casually... tucking in roti and dol...

"Muso... main bimar padi... toh iss baar latka hi javun... tera Hero tujhe look after kare... main sone jaa rahi hoon!" Sakshi stormed into her room...

Arjun just sighed and banged on the table... freaking Muskaan... she feared the anger in his eyes and ran towards her room... shocking Arjun...

"Muskaan!" he washed his hands and went to her room...

"Nahi... aap mujhe daatoge... aap gusse main ho... sholi... main chup chap yaha beithe lahungi..." Muskaan sobbed quietly...

Arjun sighed and patted her cheeks... "Hey bacha... main gussa nahi hoon.. bas mumma nahi kha rahi thi isliye gussa tha... apne Hero se kaise dar sakti ho tum?" he hugged her...

"Pata nahi... aapka gussa bohot bula hai..." Muskaan said softly...

Arjun played with Muskaan a little... she dozed off as she had dinner and he walked up to Sakshi...

Was it his anger that made her reluctant?

His male ego didn't even allow him to apologize properly...

Sakshi settled herself on the bed... upon seeing Arjun she closed her eyes...

Arjun sat on the edge of the bed... Sakshi was about to get up that he caught her hand and made her come closer...

"Arjun chodo mujhe..." she grumbled... upon seeing her puny fight he pinned her to the bedrest...

"Listen to me will you..." he muffled her mouth with his palm...

However Sakshi started breathing heavily... it had been a long time since someone had come so close to her... she closed her eyes and nodded... before something else crept into her...

"I am sorry... and I mean it... par jaise tum apne papa ke mauth ka badla lena chahte ho the same thing I have for Roshni's death... I just want every lead... I want to kill him... bas..." Arjun said quietly... his voice started to get choked...

She sighed and took in a deep breath... "I didn't want to be rude to you Sakshi... but trust me... your daughter is another reason why I smile... and perhaps usi ke saath mujhe jeene ki ek wajeh milti hai... she makes me feel happy... after all this... if there is something I look upto... that is playing with Muskaan..." Arjun said softly...

Sakshi nodded... and opened her eyes... Arjun took back his palm...

"I understand Arjun... mere liye bhi woh toh ek hi jine ki wajeh hai... warna toh main apne aap ko kab maar deti.. and listen... it's fine... but please promise me that you wouldn't work on any lead... please... promise me that..." Sakshi held his hand...

Arjun looked aside... then he nodded...

"No Arjun... I mean it... waqt nahi hai humare paas... woh Mumbai aa chuka hai..." Sakshi sighed...

"Aur phir ya toh mujhe ya tumhe target bana raha hai... and he knows that Muskaan would be there..." he said softly...

Sakshi looked troubled...

"Don't worry... usse kuch hone nahi dunga... chalo... ab toh khalo..." Arjun said...

Sakshi half smiled... she took slow steps and sat at the garden...

"Thanks... kal hum discuss karenge usko kaise pakarna hai..." Sakshi said softly...

"Hmm... waise Muskaan se tumhe seekhna chahiye... thank God tum meri beti nahi ho... bohot badtameez hoti..." Arjun chuckled as he forwarded the plate...

"Really... thank God mere bete nahi ho... itna akdu beta milta mujhe!" Sakshi chuckled...

"Ok this is embarrassing... main apne aal kha bhi nahi sakti..." Sakshi murmured...

"Itni self respect kyun hai bhai?" Arjun said as he forwarded the broken piece of roti...

"WOhi toh akhri cheez bachi hai mujhme... apart from that... mera bio data toh... well... na maa hai na baap hai... jis aadmi ke saath rehta tha.. ghin aati hai mujhe... apne aap par that I even slept with him... obviously tab toh love laga tha... but then all this to kill my dad... I sometimes feel like a piece of trash... Arjun agar ROshni yeh tumse karti toh?" Sakshi looked at him... and opened her mouth as he gave her the piece of roti..

"Pata nahi... and Sakshi you are not a piece of trash... you are still loveable... aur iss duniya main koi bhi insaan tum jaisi ladki ko pyaar karega..." Arjun said softly...

"ladki nahi... am a mother Arjun... unwedded mother... nahi chahiye koi ladka mere zindagi main... if you are father... tab it's taken well... but a lady... nope..." Sakshi chewed the morsel...

Silence ensued as he cleaned the dishes...

"Not that Sakshi... a true man will like you for the woman you are... itna sab kuch hone ke baad bohot kam log ladte nikal te hai... don't let your self esteem go low Sakshi..." Arjun said softly as he put the blanket on her...

"So are you a true man then?" Sakshi chuckled... he smiled back too...

"And listen... I will put myself as the bait... taki Sikandar mujhe target kare... isse tum... aur Muskaan safe rahoge... aur hum Sikandar tak pohoch jayenge..." Arjun said to find her eyes boring into his...

"Be safe Arjun..." she whispered...

He smiled back... "I will be... iss baar khone ko kuch hai hi nahi..." Arjun patted her forehead and left...

As Sakshi saw the retreating back of Arjun her mind tangled to strange thoughts... he was indeed a man of virtue...

She half smiled... stopping herself to think further about him... her mind was soft and if one makes a place over there... it takes time to remove the person from there...

The medicines made her drowse off soon...

Arjun sat on the swing of his house... thinking about what all happened...

In a few hours the dynamics of his life was changing... Muskaan... she had started to mean a lot for him... almost like the child he never had...

And her mother - Sakshi...

He was surprised by her... he almost dared to think that.. he almost liked her... almost...

He closed his eyes... he didn't want to think further about this... he let the cool air touch his face...

Sakshi was something different... very different... he respected her... admired her...

He went to his couch in the living room and settled himself there...

He didn't want to think more.. at least when it comes to Sakshi... he was afraid of his wandering thoughts...

Tomorrow he would call Shree for help...

Saarthak crushed a glass piece in his hands...

"How... how... Sakshi ka dusra bacha kaha gaya..." Saarthak scratched his head...

Because when he had left... he knew that Sakshi had been pregnant...

Arjun shrugged off his thoughts... what was happening to him!

3)"Mumma aul Helo... mujhe na ek naya dosht mila!" Muskaan smiled...

"Acha... kaun hai woh?" Sakshi smiled as she passed the newspaper to Arjun...

She sat next to Sakshi... putting her between Muskaan and Arjun...

"Mumma... usne kaha ki woh mela dedda hai!" Muskaan gave a big smile while the coffee cup fell from Sakshi's hand and blood drained out of her face...

"What!" Arjun said shocked...
