Part 15:

Arjun and Shristhi crossed the road and reached the car park where Saakshi had asked them to wait. They saw Saakshi waiting for them or rather staring at them angrily.

Saakshi: Kahaan gaye the tum dono? Meine tho tum logon ko yahi wait karne ke liye kaha tha na?

Shristhi: Mama woh kya haina dost ne na Shree ko ice cream kilaya tha. Shree ne kaha tha usse nahi chahiye par dost ne kaha tho maan liye. Sirf ek hi ice cream kaaya tha.

Arjun (Shocked): Kya kaha tumne?

Shree signaled him to keep quiet and help her from her mother's anger.

Arjun: Haan meine hi kaha tha. Baachi hi tho ice cream kaane ka maan hua hoga na issi liye kilaya tha.

Saakshi: Acche se jaanthi hoon mein isse. Ice cream dekthe hi tume majboor karke wahan lekar gayi hogi. Tume jooth bolene ki koyi zaroorat nahi. Aur ek baat tume jooth bolna tho bilkul nahi aatha. Saaf dikh jaatha hai tumhari chehre par jab tum jhoot bholthe ho iss liye koshish bhi math karna. Tume patha hai yeh jab bhi ice cream kaathi hai turant isski tabhiyaat karaab ho jaathi hai issi karan mein isse kaane nahi deti.

Shristhi (Holding her ears): Sorry mama Shree aaj ke baad ice cream tabhi kaayegi jab aap kahegi. Sorry. Please mama please.

Saakshi: Teek hain. Tujhse tho koyi jaayda der tak naraj bhi nahi reh saktha. Chalo ab ghar chalthe hain

Saying that she headed towards the car and started their journey towards their home. Soon they reached home and had their lunch. Shristhi drifted to sleep and Arjun also went to rest as he was still under strict medication.

Saakshi started doing her house chores. That was when her eyes fell on the calendar and something struck her hard. Just a day was left for her son Prem's barsi and she had totally forgotten about it till now. Self hatred and loath started filling herself as it was first time in these three years that she had almost forgotten it. This very day three days ago had snatched everything she could call hers from herself. She had lost a part of herself, her son in a horrifying way that keeps haunting her every moment. They had killed him right in front of her eyes in a brutal manner and she had not been able to save him. She prayed the almighty that no other mother in this universe goes through what she had gone through. She slowly went to the cupboard and took the photo frame of her dear son and apologized to him for her mishap. Tears by now started flowing out of her eyes on its own accord. She wiped the tears that were uncontrollable by now and started making the necessary arrangements to perform the yearly rites of her son.

She had always loved her son unconditionally but to her bad luck had lost him in a horrible manner. All she could do now for her beloved son was to do his yearly rites which she would do at any cost. It could no way reduce her guilt but would at least provide her the much needed satisfaction.

Part 15 (Continued):

Having arranged everything for tomorrow, she went to pooja room to clean it so that she could make it ready for her evening prayers. She was cleaning the room when her hand hit the shelf hard and the sindoor that was kept on it fell on her automatically filling her hair parting. She moved her hand over her hair parting as if feeling the sindoor there and that took her down the memory lane.

Flashback:

Saakshi was getting ready to go the pooja that was scheduled in nearby temple and was missing her husband very badly. It had been a month since he had gone to a secret mission leaving her alone. They were totally out of touch as he could not contact her as it could prove critical for his mission. Neither could she contact him as she had no idea of where he was. She had just completed wearing her mangalsutra and filled her hair parting with sindoor when a pair of hands slid to her waist and pulled her so that her back hit his chest. She was both happy and shocked to see him there. She just hugged him tightly as if to assure to herself that he was real.

Saakshi: Tum aa gaye. Patha hain tume mein kitne pareshaan thi tumhare liye aur kitna miss kiya hain tume. Par tume bilkul meri kadar nahi ek baar bhi mujhe phone nahi kiya.

Man: Meine tume bilkul miss nahi kiya patha hain kyun kyunki tum hamesha mere saath ho meri haar saans mein. Tum ho tho yeh zindagi hain aur jis din tum mujhde bichaad javoogi meri saanse ruk jaayegi aur mein nahi rahunga.

Saakshi: Itna pyaar karthe ho mujhse?

Man:Apne jaan aur zindagi se zaayada. Aur ek baat hamesha yaad rakna jab bhi tum aise apne maang iss sindoor se bharoogi mein jahan kahin bhi rahoon jitna bhi door yeh tume mere paas hone ka ehsaas dilayega. Yeh wada hai mera.

Saakshi came back from her thoughts and started wiping away the sindoor from her parting rather hastily.

Saakshi (In her mind); Nahi chahiye mujhe aise koyi cheez jo mujhe apne atheeth mein le jaaye. Mujhe tumhare hone ka ehsaas dilaye. Kyunki nafrat hai mujhe tumse. Woh har cheez se jo tumse jude hain. Joothe the woh har baat jo tumne mujhse kahe the woh har wade jo tumne mujhe di. Jootha tumhara pyaar jo meri jine ka sahara tha. Tumne mujhe barbad kar liya mere jeene ki aas cheen li mujse. Nafrat hain uss har ehsaas se uss har jasbhat se jisse log pyar kehte hain. Kyunki tumne mujhse meri har khushi cheen li. Meri zindagi ki sabse khubsoorat cheez mera Prem cheen liya. Nafrat karti hoon tumse. Bahoot nafrat

Par patha nahi kyun mujhe aaj barso baad aise lagtha hain ki tum mere bahoot kareeb ho. Itne kareeb ki mein tume mehsoos kar sakthi. Ab mein nahi chahthi hoon ki hum kabhi mile. Par mere instincts kehthi hai ki humari mulakaat bahoot jaldi hone wali hain. Aaj tak mere instincts kabhi galat nahi huye hain par aaj mein sach mein chahthi hoon ki galath ho. Tume dubarah kabhi na miloon.

In ETF:

Commissioner Sir had just come to ETF and everyone except Arjun and Saakshi had assembled there to know the reason for his sudden visit..

Commissioner (To Team): Good afternoon team. Pichle kuch cases mein huyi controvarsies ke karan mein ETF ke liye ek nayi lead appoint kar raha hoon. This is a temprorary arrangment, jab yeh sare cheez tam jayegi you can be back Sameer. Don't get me wrong I am left with no option due to various kind of pressures. By the way, Major Raghav Khanna who will be joining us in while from now, will be your acting head and aap logon ke saath denge cases solve karne mein. I request you all to provide full cooperation.

Aisha: Sir iski kya zaroorat hai? Jo huva usme Rathod sir ki galathi nahi thi yeh aap bhi jaanthe hain.

Sameer: Agar Sir kah rahe hain tho soch samjhkar he kah rahe honge. So please no more arguments. Team I expect your full cooperation in this as well.

None of the team members were happy with the decision as they could never imagine anybody else in their Rathod Sir's place. They decided in their minds to give tough time to the new chief so that he leaves the place on his own accord.

Just then a handsome, good looking, well built man entered the conference room.

Commissioner Sir: Welcome Major Khanna. As usual just in time.

Major Khanna: Good afternoon Sir. As you know mein apna har kaam waqt ke hisaab se karna pasand kartha hoon as I beleive jo insaan waqt ki kadar nahi kartha waqt uski kadar nahi kartha. Anyways kaam ki baat kare.

Commissioner: introduced Sameer and the entire team to Major Khanna and left the place.

Sameer: Aapki cabin right se second hain jo ETF chief ka hain. Meri kuch cheez wahan which I will vacate as soon as possible so you don't feel any inconvience sir.

Major Khanna: Pehli baat ACP Rathod aap mujhe Raghav ya Major Khanna kehar bula saakthe Sir ki zaroorat nahi. Dusri baat woh cabin aapki thi aapki hi rahegi. Meine aathe hi keh dia the house keeper se woh record room thoda saaf karke wahan ek table daalne ki. Aaj se wahi mera cabin hain. Aur sabse important baat, duniya ke liye mein zaroor chief of ETF hoon par yahan humesha ki tarah aap hi saara instructions denge aur team ko lead karenge. Sirf official documents mein sign karunga aur aap logon ki madat karoonga cases solve karne mein. I think I have made myself clear.

Sameer: Lekin...

Major Khanna: Lekin wakin kuch nahi. This is it. No more discussions regarding this.

Sameer though reluctantly agreed to the decision and left the room. All the members one by one thanked him for understanding their emotions and making this decision. At last, it was just Shree and Major Khanna left.

Major Khanna: Kaise ho Shree?

Shree: Zindagi hain chahoo ya na chaho kat hi jathi hain. Aur ek baat aap yeh sab karke in sab ke nazroon mein baghvan zaroor ban jayenge par meri nazaroon mein aap kabhi nahi ut saakthe jo bhi kare. Any ways best of luck Sir.

Saying that he stormed out of the conference room.

Major Khanna (To Himself): Tum jis galathi ki baat kar rahe the uske liye meine khud ko kabhi maaf nahi kar pavoonga tho tumse kya umeed karo. Mein tho sirf tume khush dekhna chahtha hoon hamesha ki tarah.
