Arakshi SS: Mere Humsfar

Part 12:

Not even a day had passed since it was decided that Arjun will stay with Saakshi till he is perfectly fine. He had already seen many forms of her. He had always seen her as strong headed women who had it in her to stand up for justice and punish the wronged. Today he had seen her as a loving and caring mother whose life depended on her daughter. He had to admit to himself that she probably played this role too well as she did many other things in her life. She was indeed a multi talented lady. He came out of his thoughts and called Shree to inform him that they found Shristhi and was safe with them now. He asked him to come to the beach.

Saakshi parted from Shree after what seemed like eternity. She felt relieved to say the least that she had found her little bunch of joy safe and secure. She had been very afraid of losing her and the fear of losing a loved one yet again had started surfacing today. She had already lost her entire family and reason to live in the past. It was when unexpectedly Shristhi had come into her life and started healing her pain. That was one of the reasons that made her too vulnerable and emotional in moments like these.

But now her life, happiness her daughter Shristhi was back with her. Shristhi would again start asking about her father some time in near future if not today. At that time she would not be able to give her a proper answer as she was too small to understand the harsh realities of life. Every kid has right to get the love of both mother and father but in case of Shree she would never ever be provide her with the security, love and affection that a child acquires from father. She had always tried to fulfill the void in Shree's life but failed miserably. This was one of numerous failures that she had to cope up in life. Shristhi's loud voice alerted and brought her out of her thoughts.

Shristhi: Mama mujhe na beach par jana hai . Please please.

Saakshi: Nahi Shree. Aaj nahi. Aap abhi abhi aaye ho pune se aap tired ho javooge. Koyi aur din aayenge. Pakka wala promise.

Shristhi: No Mama. Shree na bilkul tired nahi hai. Please na muma please.

Saakshi: No means no. Zaayda zidd nahi karthe beta. Mama ko ghar jaakar kaana bhi banana hai. Tho chalo.

Shristhi: Hum bahar se khana order kar lenge Mama. Please na Mama Shree ne bahoot dinoon se beach par nahi gayi na. Please

Shristhi moved a little far from Saakshi towards Arjun and nudged him slightly as if silently asking him to support her in making Saakshi agrees to go and stand in the sea waves. Arjun understood Shristhi's pleads and spoke up.

Arjun: Saakshi hum yahaan taka aa gaye tho todi der beach mein rahne ke baad chale jaayege. It's a matter of ten fifteen minutes right? Shree bhi chaahthi hai tho uske dil rakne ke liye hi sahi. Maan jaavo

Saakshi: Jahaan tak mujhe paatha tha tume choot lagi thi aur rest karne ke liye mere ghar lekar aayi thi. Aur iss madam ki wajahse already bahoot bag chuke ho. Aur aab ye sab tho tu tak javaage iss liye hume chalna chaiye.

Arjun: It's fine Saakshi. I am perfectly fine and you know I hate to stay idle at home doing nothing. At least this will do some good and give us peace of mind.

Shristhi: Dekha Mama. Dost bhi kah rahe hain ki hum beach par jaayenge. Tho majority wins aur hum beach par jaroor challenge. Chalo. Chalo.

Saying that she literally dragged Saakshi and Arjun with her towards the sea waves giving Saakshi no room for objection.

Part 12(Continued):

They soon reached the waves and Shree was in middle with Arjun to her left and Saakshi to her right holding her hands in theirs. Soon water flowed and made their feet wet giving them calmness and peace. Shree started moving a bit into the beach when both Arjun and Saakshi stopped her. She was enjoying the waves hitting her feet and was jumping with happiness. She was very happy to be here and was enjoying it to fullest. Every now and then when the sea waves hit her she was jumping happily and once she slipped and almost fell into the water when in a reflex Arjun and Saakshi realized what had transpired and held their hand around Shree so as to save her from falling. During this Arjun's fingers brushed over Saakshi as they wound over Shristhi and their locked with each other. There was once again that awkwardness due to the unexpected brushing of their fingers.

To an outsider it would look like a happy family enjoying quality time. They indeed completed each other perfectly. They were ones who could fulfill the void left in each other's life. Shristhi needed a father who could make her feel loved and secured, who better than Arjun could fulfill this role. He always has been caring and affectionate even though he never let it out openly. Arjun had always dreamt of a perfect family which he could get by letting Saakshi and Shristhi into his life. It would provide him all the happiness and love he had always carved for. Saakshi always needed a friend and father for her daughter more than a husband but Arjun would be someone who would easily fit into the picture. It seemed that destiny had already played cupid bringing their paths together entwining their lives with each other for a lifetime unaware to them. It was just that they not realized that till now. Will they able to let go the harsh and haunted memories of the past and accept the reality that destiny had in store for them, only time could tell.

Shristhi slipped out of their hold taking advantage of their momentary lapse in concentration and took a handful of water and splashed it on their faces. Before they could realize what Shree had done, she repeated it a couple of times. The feel of water on their faces brought them back to reality and Shree was laughing loudly seeing their state.

Saakshi: Shree ki baachi. Aab nahi chodungi tume.

Saying that she took a handful of water and was about sprinkle it on Shree when Shree started running towards the shore.

Shristhi: Mujh par paani daalne ke liye aapko pehle mujhe paakadna hoga Mama. Pehale Paakdo tho sahi. Fir deekthe hain.

Part 12(Continued):

She started running stretching out her tongue towards Saakshi and Arjun.

Saakshi: Arjun yahan kade kade mera muh kya dekh rahe ho? Tum hi na uska side liya than a yahan aane ke liye tho meri help karo usse paakadne mein.

Arjun: Teek hain. Chalo mein iss side se jaa raha hoon tum uss side se jaavo. Hum milkar usse paakad lenge.

They started running in the opposite direction so that they could corner Shree with no way to escape. They soon were gaining momentum and running towards Shristhi who saw both of them coming from either direction and wickedly moved to her left slightly at the last moment. Arjun slowed down a little understanding Shristhi's intentions but Saakshi failed to notice it. Saakshi collided with Arjun as Shree escaped their clutches once again successfully and both of them fell on the ground with Saakshi on top of Arjun. Saakshi held Arjun's collar tightly and Arjun's hand went around her bare waist to hold her protectively. Saakshi lips brushed across his chest through his open top shirt button sending shrill down his spine.

It was just when Shree had entered the beach and witnessed the entire scene and laughing to himself seeing them like that. He thought that they looked cute and heavenly together.

Both stood up slowly and dusted themselves to get rid of the sand in their clothes. They didn't dare to look into each other's eyes as there was too much of awkwardness.

Shristhi: Hai Shree uncle aaye na. Hum yahan bahoot masti kar rahe hain.

Shree walked towards them and lifted Shree up in his arms and kissed her.

Shree: Chalo aapne mujhse ice cream maanga tha na. Aab mein aapko kilatha hoon.

He took her with him to give the much needed privacy to Arjun and Saakshi. Silence engulfed once Shree and Shristhi left them alone. They were looking here and there avoiding looking into each other.

Saakshi was looking around the beach when her eyes fell on a man who was drawing tattoos. She saw a young couple sitting near them and the young man was getting the name of his love imbibed on his fore arm. Arjun saw her looking at them with an amused expression on her face. Arjun couldn't stop himself from voicing out his curiosity.

Arjun: Aise kya dekh rahi ho. Who uss ladki se pyaar kartha hain iss liye woh uska naam aapne haath par likh raha hain taaki woh apne pyar jaatha sakhe usse yakeen dila sakhe.

Saakshi: Log bhi bahoot ajeeb ajeeb harkarth karthe hain. Kissi ke naam kissi ke hath mein likh lene na pyar nahi junnoon hota hai. Pagalpaan hai. Pyaar kabhi jaathaya nahi jaatha hain, mehsoos kiya jaatha hain, jiya jaatha hain, usse dil ke pahnoon pe lika jaatha hain, Jo ek baar likh liya tho kabhi nahi mitha hain. Pyaar woh jaasbha hain jisme tum uske ek khushi, ek muskurahat, ek hassi ke liye kuch bhi kar sakthe ho. Pyaar ka dusra naam viswas hai usme apne pyaar ke viswas dilaane ke liye yeh sab harkat karne ki zaroorat nahi. Pyaar jab hota hain tho insaan ko jeena sikaatha hain aur jab tootha hain jeene ki wajah bhi saath le jaatha hain. Pehale pyaar ki ehsaas ko jeena chahiye kyunki usme ek alag hi naasha hota hain.

It was when she looked up to meet Arjun's eyes that she saw moving his fingers over the place where he had inscribed his wife's name and realized her mistake. Probably her words had done an unmanageable damage to his feelings. She had to make it up,

Saakshi: Sorry. I am really Sorry Arjun. I didn't mean to hurt you. I am really sorry if my words have hurt. It's just my opinion. Mein kaunsi hamesha sahi hoon. Kaafi galathiyaan hui hain mujhse. Shayaad yeh bhi meri samajne ki galathi hain. Chalo ab hume chalna chahiye. Kaafi der ho gayi hain.

She started moving in search of both the Shree's so that they could head back home.
