Part 8:

Shristhi and Shree had mingled together instantly and anybody who saw them together would never guess that they had just met for the first time. Shree was feeling happy and contented after a long time forgetting all the grief and pains of his haunted past that he had kept it to himself as these years. This little kid had somehow managed to bring him back to life just like the way she had made Saakshi live her life again few years ago. They both were seen together always playing games in Shree's mobile and chatting endlessly. They had become best friends now.

Shristhi for the first time in her life had met someone whom she could her own other than Saakshi. It had always been Saakshi and Shristhi right from the time she had come into Saakshi's life. Saakshi had not let anyone into their life. All the relation Shristhi had till this time was her mother, now she was enjoying the entry of new uncle and friend into her life. Saakshi was feeling happy to see two people who mattered in her life happy and lively. All she could hope was that almighty keep them happy forever.

Shree and Shristhi were sitting in the bench in the park that was near her boarding school enjoying the evening breeze after Shree had made Shristhi play there for a while. Shree could sense that Shristhi wanted to ask him something but was confused whether raise it or not.

Shree: Beta Do you want to ask me something? Why are you hesitating?

Shristhi: Yes Uncle. But you have to promise me that you will not tell it mama.

Shree: Ok. I promise Mein aapke mama ko kuch nahi batavoonga. Hum tho dost hain na. Jo baat aap mujse kahenge woh aapke aur mere beech hi rahega.

Shristhi: Uncle. Kya aap jaanthe ho mere papa kaun hai? Who mujse milne kyun nahi aathe? Saabke Papa unse milne aathe hain. Bahar le jaathe hain. Par mere papa nahi. Mama se jab bhi poochithi hoon woh kahthi hain ki papa bohoot busy hain isseliye nahi aathe hain. Please batathiye na.

Shree was left shell shocked after hearing this. How the hell was he going to answer it? How will he make this little kid understand the reality? But for now he had to manage the situation wisely.

Shree: Beta mama teek kahthi hain. Aapke papa hamesha bohot busy hain isseliye nahi aathe hain. Par aapke pass tho aapke super mom hain na jo aapke liye aab maa bhi hain aur papa bhi. Ok?

Shristhi: Aap bhi Shree ko papa ke bare mein nahi batayengi na? Teek hain.

Saying that she was disappointed and turned away from him disappointedly. Saakshi had just come to take them back to the school as it was time for them to head back to Mumbai when she had heard the entire conversation. She was shell shocked to hear Shristhi's feeling. She had always satisfied Shristhi's needs and taken extra care of her so that she doesn't feel the void of a father in her life. She had till now thought that she had succeeded to a certain extent till now but her hopes came crashing down when she heard Shristhi inquiring about her father to Shree. She had always fulfilled all her wishes till date and left no stone unturned to give her happiness. Neither could she tell her daughter the truth as she was too young to comprehend it or fill the void in her life. She was feeling very helpless at the moment but she had to divert Shristhi's attention for the time being so that she could forget it for the time being.

Saakshi came near Shristhi and kneeled down and pretended as though she had not heard the conversation.

Part 8(Continued):

Saakshi: Beta. Aab mama aur uncle ko jana hai. Aur chalo beat aapko waapas school mein chod doongi.

Shristhi didn't react nor did she turn towards her mother. Saakshi was feeling very bad and shattered.

Saakshi: Teek hain aap hamesha kahthi hain na ki aapko mama ke saath Mumbai aana hain. Tho iss bar aap apne vacation ke samay mama ke paas aakar Mumbai mein rah sakthe hain. Hum dono full time masthi karenge aur bahar goomne bhi challenge. Ok ab khush?

Shristhi was instantly happy hearing that from her mother and hugged her tight.

Shristhi: Mama aap ek mahine ke baad mere vacation mein mujhe lene aayenge na? Paaka vala promise hain na?

Saakshi: Haan baba haan. (Pinching her throat) Paaka wala promise. Mama ne aaj tak jo bhi promise kiya hain poora kiya hain na aab bhi karegi. Chalo aab smile kareke Mama aur uncle ko bye bolo.

Shristhi: Ok Mama.

Shree and Saakshi took her back to the school and left her there. Saakshi informed the care taker that Shristhi would stay with her during the vacation and Shree would come and pick her up from here. Now time had come to bid good bye to her daughter. She lifted Shristhi in her arms and kissed her cheeks and Shristhi kissed her back as well. Both were not willing to part from each other and leave and had unshed tears in their eyes. Soon Shree brought the vehicle and Saakshi left Shristhi with care taker and started her journey back to Mumbai.

Time flew like wind and ETF was busy like hell and were solving one nerve wrecking cases after other. Even among the busy schedule ETF members enjoyed the company of each other. Arjun was the one who was feeling lonely and left out. Saakshi was the one whom he had become a bit close to him after his wife's brutal murder. Now he had sought of withdrawn himself from her as well and coiled back into his shell. He was in dilemma regarding the relationship between Shree and Saakshi but could not voice it out openly. He thought Saakshi had come closer to him only because of sympathy and not concern or care and withdrawn himself completely from everything. He had kept his interactions with her to bear minimum and strictly professional.

Saakshi was really confused by his strange behavior and was not able to comprehend the reason behind his sudden change. Though she initially tried to know the reason, he had insulted and humiliated her and asked her to stay away from him. She very well remembered what he had said when she had tried to know the reason behind his actions "Ek baat ache se samaj lo Miss Saakshi Anand Tum mere liye koyi maine nahi lagthi. Tum mere liye sirf ek colleague ho aur kuch nahi. Iss liye mere life mein aadana. Tumare saath do bathe kya karli tum tho peeche hi pad gayi. Mere har cheez ka khayal rakne ke bahane mere kareeb aane ki koyi zaroorath nahi. Samjhi tum. ". That was the last time she had tried and from then on she had also started maintaining her distance with him but at the same time she took care of his needs unknowingly.

It was almost one month and Shree had already taken a day off from Sameer citing personal reasons and gone to Pune to bring Shristhi.

ETF was struck in a case where in they had to go to a warehouse to nail the criminal. All the ETF members excluding Shree went to the warehouse and it turned out to be more tricky than expected and there was huge fight between the criminals and ETF gang members. ETF was almost on the verge of nailing the entire gang when the unexpected happened. Saakshi was trying to save the victim who was kidnapped by the gang for ransom money when one of the gang members had her at the gun target. She was unaware of that fact as her back was to the member. Arjun had just turned and noticed a gang member pointing a gun at her. He was shocked first and then in a quick reflex action took the bullet that was aimed at her on his right shoulder. It was when she heard the gun shot she realized what had transpired. She was left transfixed and shell shocked.

Saakshi: Arjun yeh tumne kya kiya? Beech mein aane ke kya zaroorat thi.

Saying that she took the duppata and tied it tightly around his wound. Arjun had already injured his back gravely while fighting that he could no more stand on his own feet and trembled and was about to fall when Saakshi caught him and the entire team had by then come there. They took him to the hospital and the bullet was removed from his shoulders and his wounds were stitched.

Doctor: Mr Arjun Aap ko atleast ek haft eke liye bed rest mein rahna hoga. Jayda hilne ki khosish math kejiye. Take rest and Take care. (To team) Inka ache se khayal rakiye aur agar zaroorat pade tho phirse yahan la sakthe hain. Par aab ke liye aap inhe ghar le jaa sakthe hain.

Saying that he left the place but the entire team was left with one question as to who will take care of him when Arjun started to go home.

Sameer: Arjun kahan jaa rahe ho?

Arjun: Aur kahaan. Ghar hi jaa raha hoon.

Sameer: Tumne suna nahi doctor ne kya kaha tha? Tum akele nahi rah sakte.

Arjun: Meine hamesha akela hi raha hoon. Aab bhi akela eah loonga. Mein apna khayal rak saaktha hoon.

Saaksh (Angrily)i: Arjun Chup ek dum chup. Samjhthe kya ho apne aap ko. Koyi superman ho jo iss haalat mein akela rah loge? Tum mere saath mere ghar chal rahe ho and that's final. No more arguments. Sameer aap discharge ki taayariyan keejiye.

Arjun: Mujhe tumhare hum dardi ya ehsaan ki koyi zarorat nahi. Mein khud ka khayal rak saktha hoon.

Saakshi: Mein koyi ehsaan nahi kar rahi hoon. Tume chot mujhe bachate waqt laga tha. Issliye woh ehsaan chukka rahi hoon. So kindly come with me.

Arjun had no option but to agree with her.
