For the first time I'll have to disagree with you dear, I think that BK and Sid had ample reason to leave the show, their characters were stuck where they started, there wasn't anything new added to it, while there was much scope for improvement.
Yes I am hurt that they left so abruptly, but then again they must've been in talks with the PH for weeks at least, they were after all bound by contract. If the CVs don't give them anything to work with they can't improve their character, I see this as any other job, you want to move ahead, learn new things, you don't want to be a machine that everyday you'll come to work, say dammit Rawte, you're wrong Rawte and that's it.
They had a year to add more depth to the characters, but they did the exact opposite, they started with strong characters, then with new writers, directors etc. The depth declined, and we were left with a chief who was always, always proven wrong, the team took direct orders from the second in command. And there were many more things wrong with the characterization.
Not that they weren't always there, but I always thought that it's an Indian crimedrama, so it's bound to have many bloopers, one of those is that Arjun is still a cop, yes he doesn't miss any details, but after a tragedy strikes you, if you're a cop they usually make you take several psychological tests, which he would never pass, since he is an one man army. He doesn't communicate with the team properly. Yet Rathore and Shree always understood him, which for me was the beauty of the show.
