Chapter 9:
**********At Pune.
Arjun checked into the hotel. Sakshi was holding Aditiya who was sleeping soundlessly. He looked tired. They went to their room. Sakshi put Aditiya on the bed and sat next to him. Even Arjun lay down. The highway was blocked due to an accident and they spent atleast two hours just stuck.
"Aah. I am so tired." Sakshi said lying down and closing her eyes.
"Hmm. Me too." replied Arjun. "I think I'll res for some time and then go to the crime scene."
"Good idea." Sakshi said her eyes still closed.
"Waise. What was the pictures matter. I didn't understand it." Arjun questioned.
"No-nothing." said Sakshi, she didn't dare to open her eyes. "Really nothing."
"Really? But I love this one. I think red suits me." Arjun replied.
"What?" Sakshi got up to see Arjun scrolling the pictures on her phone. She just stared at him wide-eyed.
"Woah. Why did you take them?" asked Arjun giving her phone back.
"It's a surprise. You'll find out." Sakshi replied smiling.
"Okie then." said Arjun. Sakshi just smiled at him.
"MOM!" Aditiya screamed and got up. He was trembling and shivering.
"Aadi?" Sakshi grabbed him and started soothing him. "Are you okay? What happened?"
"Aditiya?" Arjun looked at him concerned. "Are you alright?"
"Dont leave me, mom." Aditiya said and started crying. "Dont."
"I will never leave you." said Sakshi. "Did you have a bad dream?"
"Yes." Aditiya started. "You left me and went to live with God."
Arjun and Sakshi both stared at him wide-eyed. Sakshi hugged him tight and tears started escaping her eyes. She could never leave Aditiya and Arjun. Never. Arjun just hugged both of them.
"Shhh." said Arjun. "Look you made mom cry." Arjun earned a punch from Sakshi at that statement.
"Dont cry." said Aditiya wiping her tears.
"I wont." said Sakshi.
"Mom, dad." Aditiya. "I had a question. How did you guys meet?"
Once again Arjun and Sakshi stared at him. Aditiya could ask weird questions at times.
"Beta. I'll tell you later." said Arjun looking at the time. "Right now I have to go."
*********Arjun returned and later at night they left for Mumbai again**
"Arjun." Sakshi began. "Karva chauth is coming."
Both of them were sitting in the living room. Aditiya was in his room playing. They were watching "the Godfather" for the 100th time on Sakshi's demand.
"Hmmm." replied Arjun.
"We should have a function." said Sakshi. "That would be fun."
"You really want to?" said Arjun.
"Yeah. It would be fun." Sakshi pleaded.
"Ummm.." Arjun thought.
"Please, please, please." Sakshi begged him.
"Alright." said Arjun.
"What's kavachuth?" asked Aditiya coming from his room.
"Karvachauth." Sakshi said. "Women fast for the long life of their husbands."
"Oh. Will you keep one?" asked Aditiya.
"I keep it every year." said Sakshi. "For the past sev- six years."
"Were you about to say seven?" asked Arjun.
"Mistake. I meant six." said Sakshi. She didn't want Arjun to know that she kept a fast for before they were married.
"Dad. You never told me. How did you guys meet?" said Aditiya.
"Well, we both were in ETF. And then we got married." Arjun replied.
"No." said Sakshi. " We were in ETF. He was a real akdu. He hated the fact that I was a chirpy girl. We used to fight. But slowly we began to become friends and then we got married."
"Dad was akdu?" Aditiya said laughing.
"Very." said Sakshi. "Arjun you stopped saying 'Samjhe... ya samjhaun.' "
"Right." replied Arjun agreeing.
"What?" said Aditya.
"Your dad had his trademark. Samjhe... ya samjhaun."
"Really?"
"Yes."
