arjun came back in home from office after meeting riya's family. he saw riya sitting beside wondow, looking outside. he went near her, without making any noise.
''tumhe yahan nahi rehna na?'' he asked all of a sudden, and riya looked at him, surprised by his sudden presence and words. she was confused at the emotions playing on arjun's face...pain, anger, longing, helpless.
''kal hum bhatinda ja rahe hain.'' he announced and turned, not seeing her alert face. she jumped and hold his wrist.
''what???? no way...'' she yelled in shock. arjun turned to her again, facing her.
''main puch nahi raha hoon, bata raha hoon.''
''ye meri life hain dammit...i am not going.''
''nahi jaogi to main utha ke le jaoonga.'' arjun said suddenly, and riya stared at his face, shocked. arjun looked away, embarrassed.
''understand yaar...how will i face them?'' she said slowly, her voice soft and shaky. he hold her shoulder and made her look at him.
''iss mein face karne wali kya baat hain? apne ghar jana hain, bas...aur waise bhi, u miss them riya...i have seen it in ur eyes.'' he said intensely, and her eyes widen with surprise.
''kabse mujhe itne ache se jaan ne lage tum?'' she asked in low voice, looking straight in his eyes. he didnt look away.
''pata nahi...i guess main humesha se hi tumhe janta tha.''
they both stared at each other, time stopped for them. arjun was the first to break this eye lock, and he freed her shoulder, ''kabhi na kabhi to ghar jana hi tha, hain na?''
''main tumhe bohot achi lagti hoon na?'' riya asked suddenly, surprising him. he nodded in positive.
''haan...par woh mera problem hain, tum tension mat lo. bas taiyyari karo...hum ghar ja rahe hain.''
so next day early morning, arjun and riya left for bhatinda. they both witnessed riya's large family along with some other door ke rishtedar was waiting for them in the door. they came out from the car, and roop came running towards riya, and hugged her tight. after some wishes and blessings, both about to enter inside house, but stopped by roop.
''jaise haath pakad kar bhage the, waise hi andar aiyye, jeeja ji.''
what? jeeja ji?
both arjun and riya was shocked. before they could say anything, roop forcefully made them hold hand, and they both entered house.
the day and night passed, and arjun riya decided that riya will talk to her mother about all this confusion. though riya got many chance to clarify this, some deep part in her heart was stopping her to do so. in the mean time, riya's family called arjun's mom, and one day arjun's mom came to their house, without the knowledge of arjun! his mom was also happy that her son got a life partner atleast, and the elders decided a day to do the engagement.
it was the morning of the engagement day. arjun and riya met in the sugercane field to talk. where arjun was little confused, riya was looking somewhat guilty.
''riya, tumne abhi tak maa ko bataya nahi?'' arjun asked surprised. riya nodded in negative.
''aaj humari engagement hain riya. agar abhi baat nahi ki to bohot der ho jayegi.'' he said, eyebrows joined in confusion.
''haan...bohot der ho jayegi.'' she mumbled softly. there was something in her tone that made him turn to her.
''baat kya hain? tumne abhi tak baat kyu nahi ki?''
''i just dont know! mujhe bohot mauke mile the sare confusion dur karne ka, par fir bhi...i just could not! i didnt want to!'' riya spilled the beans in tension. arjun's eyes widened in surprise.
''kya kaha tumne? you didnt want to?''
riya bite her lips in tension and looked away, feeling more guilty. arjun was very happy in the inside, but still he need some answers.
''do you still love him?''
riya asked at his eyes, surprised that he mention HIM. her face was confused.
''agar woh ka firl wapas ajaye aur tumse maafi mange to? chali jaogi uske paas?'' arjun asked, his voice shaking with fear...fear to lose her, maybe. but when she was his?
''kabhi nahi...jis din usse phone pe gali di thi na, ussi din usse apne zindagi se flush out kar diya tha maine.'' riya said like the earlier riya used to do. arjun smiled widely at that.
''pasand karti ho mujhe? acha lagta hoon main tumhe?''
she blushed at the question, and arjun got his answer. but the old riya is back, and she would not give in so easily. she decided to tease.
''shayad...''
''shayad?!'' he asked in disbelieve. riya started to laugh at his reaction, and arjun gave her a fake glare. then he nearly ran toward her, and hold her tight to his chest, and tickled mercilessly.
''shayad? mujhse panga?'' he continued to tickle, and she protest, the air filled with her carefree giggle and shoutings. after sometime he stopped it, and then leaned on her face, kissing her passionately.
so what that they didnt say those three words? so what if it was not 1st love for riya? so what they didnt confess their feelings like other couples do? love dont need any language to express, its only needs expression. it only needs two pure souls, feeling the feeling and a desire...to be together, forever.
