Ch6.
In the evening.
Riya was checking the last minute arrangements while Shanta tai was cooking desserts. Atharva was playing with her toys.
The bell rang and Shanta tai opened the door.Ayesha,Sameer with their daughter Raesha,Shree,Chotu and Arjun came in... Shanta tai was very happy to see all of them... She let them in and closed...
As the others sat,Raesha looked around the whole house and her eyes were searching her Maasi... Shanta tai served them drinks and snacks.Raesha saw a familiar figure,standing inside the kitchen and doing some work.She ran inside the kitchen and hugged her legs.
''Maasii...'' Raesha squealed in excitement.
Riya turned and picked Raesha in her arms and hugged her... She met Raesha after so many years.After she parted from the hug,Riya pecked her forehead.
''Mera baccha... Kaisi hai tu? Maasi ne apko bohut miss kia...''
''Maine bhi aapko bohut miss kia...''
Riya and Raesha walk towards the drawing room,with Raesha in Riya's lap... Riya looked at everyone who came and greeted them.Riya dropped Raesha and asked her to play with Atharva and asked Shanta tai to serve the dinner.
While Shanta tai was busy serving the dinner,Riya was talking with Ayesha,ignoring personal level talks with Shree,Chotu,Sameer and Arjun,except professional talks.
Sameer,Arjun,Shree and Chotu could sense that Riya was very hurt and heartbroken with their behavior previously.Riya's anger and ignorance was justified.
Shanta tai informed the others that the dinner has been served.All of them sat down,and Riya served them dinner.Ayesha asked her to sit down,but,Riya refused.
Riya served everyone food and took food for Atharva and Raesha.
''Ayesha,yeh Atharva kaun hai? Aur woh Riya ke saath kyun rehti hai?''
''Kaun rehta hai mere saath aur kyun,isska jawab main tumhe dena nahi chahti hu. Aur,tumhe isse koi matlab nahi hona chahiye,ACP Rawte??? Official dinner keliye aaye ho,so wahi karo... Kuch zyada karne ki koshish mat karna... Mere personal life mein dakhal dene ki koshish mat karna... Mujhe un logo se sakht nafrat jo mere personal life mein dakhal dete hai...'' Riya said in a stern tone,which was heard by everyone.
Before anyone could say anything,Riya's mobile rang up.It was Adhbhay.She answered the phone.
''Ma'am... Lokhandwala mein ek high profile businessman ka khoon hua hai... Comissioner sir ne yeh case Mumbai Crime Branch ko transfer kiya hai.Uss businessman ka beta aapka dost hai..Usine Comissioner sir ko kahaan hai ki yeh case aap hi handle karein...''
''Thik hai... Tum wahi ruko... Main abhi aati hu...'' Riya says and disconnects the call.
Ayesha comes to her asks her what happened.Riya tells her that a case has arrived and she needs to go there. Ayesha smiles and blesses Riya,because,this is her first case as a DCP. Riya smiles and hugs Ayesha. Sameer,hesitantly comes forward and wishes Riya all the best.Riya shakes her hand with him and accepts his wish.
''Sameer jijasaa,aap meri behen ke pati hai,isiliye,main aapko maaf kar sakti hu,par,yeh mat sochna ki main Arjun ko kabhi maaf kardungi... By the way,thanks for your wish...''
''Welcome,Riya...''
Riya asks Shanta tai to clean up the table and the mess..Shree,Chotu,Ayesha,Arjun,Sameer and Raesha leave...
Riya gets ready.She wears a white half-sleeved shirt,blue denims.Her gun holster on her shoulder.She puts both her guns in the holster,takes her id and her SUV keys and zooms off to the crime spot.
