Everyone was busy with their works and finally rathod found time to talk to liza.

Rathod's cabin:

Rathod :"bolo liza, kya problem hain."

Liza : " sir, it's related to arjun sir's father."

Rathod : " don't worry liza. Jo bhi problem hain hum solve karenge."

Liza : " vo sir actually jab mein uss ghar ki talaashi le rahi thi tab mujhe unke bedroom se kuch medicines mili. Main kuch samples le aayi for testing aur.." she stopped clearly tensed about how she was going say what is troubling her. " sir, voh kuch oncology drugs the." She finished looking at rathod with pain in her eyes.

" so you are trying to tell me that Mr.Rawe has cancer" said rathod finally understanding the reason behind liza's worries. He sunk into his seat closing his eyes trying to grasp what she said.

"arjun's dad is suffering from cancer. Why god, why? Why are you doing this to arjun. Haven't you had enough of him already? Why are you hell bent on snatching away his loved ones and leaving him alone?" rathd thought. Whatever differences arjun had with his dad rathod knew arjun loved his dad. He had never expressed that but he surely missed his dad as well. the ego, the guilt, the false pretense of distancing himself from every loved one had stopped arjun from going back to his dad. Rathore knew that this news is surely gonna shatter him.

" sir, I didn't have the guts to tell him. Lekin bina kahe reh bhi nehi sakthe. What if it is imp for the case. Isiliye maine socha aapko kahu. Aap hi ho jo unhe yeh baat samjha sakthe hain " liza said as she saw rathod's slumped form. She knew rathod was also hurt thinking about arjun's fate. It was as if every turn in arjun's life was bringing him new problems.

Rathod opened his eyes when liza said that." Aap hi unhe yeh baat samjha sakthe hai." That dialogue repeated in his mind. It shouldn't have surprised him, after all , his team was very keen observers. They surely would have understood that behind the masks that they adored there lay a true friendship between him and arjun.

"tumne theek hi kiya , liza. Don't worry. Agar case ke liye imp lagta hain to main khud hi use bata doonga" said rathod as he rose from his chair to leave. He stopped near liza and turned to her. He was actually grateful to her for the maturity that she displayed. "thanks liza. Now stop worrying. Yeh ab mera responsibility hain. You just relax." Rathod said. " sir , yeh baat jaankar main kaise relax kar sakthi hoom? Anyways, thanks for understanding." Said liza. Rathore just patted her cheeks in an assuring way and smiled at her. That relaxed her a bit. She knew that her chief actually wanted her to relax.

It has always been like that. Sameer and arjun have always been like big brothers to everyone. Understanding their problems, supporting them when they need them. The way shree asked sameer for equipment upgradation clearly resembled a younger brother asking his elder brother for his bike keys so that he can show off.

Sameer and liza came out of the cabin . He patted her shoulders reassuring her and went to talk to arjun. It was high time that they had their talk with Mr.Rawte. Rathore, arjun and sakshi left for the hospital to meet Mr.Rawte. Arjun had been silent throughout the journey, and rathod and sakshi didn't bother to disturb him. He was about to meet his dad after a long time. And he was feeling awkward.

They reached the hospital and went to Mr.Rawte's room. They saw a doctor exiting the room. They flashed their id cards and the doctor acknowledged it.

"how is Mr.Rawte, now doctor? " rathod asked the doctor. He knew that arjun was dying to get an answer to this question. " he is fine, sir. Bus ek chot hain sir par. Lekin ab theek hain. You may question him now." Said the doctor and he left for his routine rounds.

" tum dono unko question karo. I'll just stay outside." Said arjun. " are you sure rawte? Questioning him is important." Rathod asked seeing arjun's hesitancy.

"you can manage it rathod. Mera zaroorat nahi hain" he said looking at rathore. Rathore knew that arjun desperately wanted him to do that. So he agreed and went inside along with sakshi. arjun stood at the door and watched through the glass window.

He saw his dad lying there on the bed. It has been years since he has seen his dad. Well he has definitely seen photographs on business journals but hadn't met him after they had that fight. His dad looked weak, but even in this state he possessed the persona that demanded respect.

Rathod: " Mr.Rawte, main Acp sameer rathod , aur yeh sakshi anand. Hum ETF se hain. We are investigating your case."

Mr.rawte: " aap ko kon nahi jaanta. Har din aapke news hi toh padhte hain hum. Nice to meet you"

The questioning went smoothly. sakshi was busy in observing Mr.Rawte. Arjun was an exact photocopy of his dad. Looks, the way he talked, the clarity with which he provided each info. Sakshi noticed that Mr.Rawte's eyes were searching for someone the moment sameer and her entered the room. For the very someone who was standing right outside the door. The whole team knew about the arjun and his dad. Arjun himself has told the team about how his father was so against him joining the police force. But something about the man infront of her told sakshi that he is not the same man he once was.

Mr.Rawte's POV

Suryakanth Rawte does not need any introductions. If you know arjun then it is easy to understand suryakanth rawte as well. That is how similar they are. Mr.Rawte was indeed expecting to see his son once he heard that ETF has been investigating his case. But this is arjun we are talking about and he knew his son well. "Arjun might not have forgiven him for not being the dad he always promised to be." Thought Mr.Rawte as he searched in vain for arjun when the two ETF officers came in. He answered their questions clearly. "Sameer rathod , the ETF chief," he thought "that is a genuine guy. but something tells me he is not what he pretends to be. And he knows more about me than what is required for the case. Sakshi Anand, a girl full of life. She doesn't know anything other than spreading happiness. You cannot help a smile creep up your face when you talk with her. Dunno how arjun manages to keep his indifferent attitude with her. Arjun, yes, his son, whom he had abandoned when his son needed him the most. But the new twists in his life has made him crave for his son's company. That has made him read every newspaper article about arjun and now he knows that the arjun he knew was dead. What remained was a robot who had nothing other than his duty in his life."

After questioning Mr.Ratwe they came to know that Mr.Mehta had been acting strange lately. Picking up fights with Mr.Rawte , that too in public as if to show that there was some tension between the two.

Days passed by and still there was nothing leading to the killer. Arjun had a brainwave that if the murder has to be planned then the killer should have enough time to fake all the evidences. And he wouldn't risk the gunshot to be heard so that he could get time for staging the murder. The thought put the local, raghu, who informed the police about the murder, on top of the suspects list. Moreover the guy had gone into hiding. The team knew that raghu was the key to this case.
