A few hours later,
Indraneil was back home and was almost fuming seeing the unwanted guest still at his place. The 4 people were silently having dinner.
"Tu jaane nahi waala kya yahaan se?" he asked Sameer as he walked upto the dining table.
"Nahi...woh kya hai na ki mujhe yeh ghar bada pasand aa gaya hai...khaas kar yahaan ke log..." Sameer replied calmly.
Neil : "Chal nikal yahaan se...nahi toh dhake marke nikalunga..."
Sam : "Toh nikal na...meine kab roka..."
Before anyone of them could say anything else, Anu interrupted them and requested Neil to have dinner. But instead of having dinner he said her some unkind words in Bangla. Though Sameer wasn't able to understand what the words meant, but one look at Anushka and he knew Neil was speaking some shit.
Neil left and Anu slumped on the chair, her in-laws were silent as usual. They too got up and left, leaving the duo alone.
"Kya bola usne?" Sameer asked her.
"Kuch nahi...aur please chale jao yahaan se...meri life jaisi hai...usse aisa hi rehne do...please...leave..." she told him.
"Nahi jaa sakta mein tumhein aise chodkar...khud se waada kiya hai meine tumhein bachane ka...aur mein apne waade kabhi nahi todta..." he told her.
She didn't utter anything else and left for her room. He looked at the half-empty plate of his. He too was done.
The next morning,
Sameer didn't sleep peacefully last night. The only name revolving in his brain was Anushka. But how was he going to help her out?
He glanced at his phone and there was a missed call from Aayesha. He picked up his phone and dialled her number. She picked up the call and they conversed for a while. That's when he told her all about this issue. She assured him and told him that she would reach Kolkata, as soon as possible to help them. Sameer thanked her and she replied,
"Sameer, dost aur kis liye hote hain? Tum mere dost ho...aur Anushka bhi meri bahut achi dost hai...apna khayal rakhna...aur uska bhi...she needs you by her side..." and the call was disconnected.
She needs you by her side? Toh phir dur kyun bhagti hai woh mujhse? he thought.
He freshened up and reached downstairs for having breakfast. Neil had left only a few minutes back. He saw Anu and Mrs.Dasgupta working in the kitchen. He told them that he was going out for some work. As soon as he stepped out, and picked up his backpack, he realized that he forgot to mention about Aayesha. He told them about the same.
"Kyun pareshaan kar rahe ho tum sabko meri wajah se?" Anu asked him irritatedly.
He looked at her but didn't reply. He walked out silently.
A few hours later,
It was quite late and Sameer wasn't back yet, though Aayesha had arrived a few hours back. Anushka was worried. What if Neil tried to harm him? Anyone who irked Neil, had a sad ending. And therefore, she was worried for Sameer.
"Anushka...Sameer theek hoga...don't worry...aa jayega jaldi hi..." Aayesha assured her.
"Aayesha tum nahi jaanti ki Neil kitna khatarnak hai...sirf kehne ko PWD mein kam karta hai...waise ik number ka gunda hai...kahin Sameer ko kuch ho gaya toh mein...mein kabhi apne aap ko maaf nahi kar paungi..." Anushka replied her and slumped on the sofa.
The door opened and it was Neil. He entered inside and saw another stranger.
"Ab yeh kaun hai?" he asked Anushka rudely.
She didn't say anything, neither Aayesha said anything else. He looked at Aayesha from head to toe almost checking her out.
"Agli baar aise ghur ke dekha na...toh aankhein fod ke rakh dungi..." Aayesha warned him.
"Yeh bhi teri hi tarah thi...ab dekhle kya haal ho gaya iska..." Neil told her, looking at Anushka.
"Acha? Kuch bakwas ki na toh..." Aayesha warned him.
"Toh kya?" Neil asked her and grabbed her hand.
Anushka didn't knew what to do. Gone was the brave female officer...she once used to be. She hadn't practiced her skills for the last few weeks, so hitting him wasn't a safe option. But probably that was the only option available.
Having the advantage of standing behind him, gave her the opportunity to grab a vase and hit him with that. Neil released Aayesha's hand at once and fell down unconscious. Aayesha passed her a smile, and Anushka passed her a worried look.
"Kaash yeh sab tumne pehle kar liya hota Anushka..." Aayesha thought.
That's when the door opened and it was Sameer luckily. He walked upto the two ladies and than looked at an unconscious Neil. That was the very first and the very last opportunity for them to get away.
"Chalo, niklein yahaan se...Anushka pack ur bags, hum nikal rahe hain yahaan se...Aayesha help her out...mein Mr.Dasgupta ko batakar aata hunn..." Sameer spoke up.
"Hum nahi jaa sakte aise...galat hai yeh..." Anushka replied.
"Aur agar hum abhi nahi nikle toh shayad hum sabki zindagi ki sabse badi galti hogi..." Aayesha replied to her.
"Mein hum sab ke liye tickets arrange karne gaya tha...get your passports and luggage, hum 2 ghante baad Mumbai jaane waali flight mein honge...and once we reach there...yeh Indraneil kuch nahi kar payega...meine DIG sir se bhi baat kar li hai...woh Anushka ke liye security provide karva denge..." Sameer told them.
"Aur Mumbai mein Anushka mere saath reh legi..." Aayesha said.
Anushka muttered a silent Thank You to Aayesha, who accepted that and spoke up,
"Asal mein Thank You ka haqdaar Sameer hai..."
She excused herself and walked away leaving the duo. Sameer stood closer to her, as she looked at him with a hope in her eyes. Hope that in the coming days, life would be much better. He just pecked her forehead and left to talk with Mr.Dasgupta. Anushka looked at an unconscious Neil for a while and later went to her room. It was a 'now or never' situation for her...
