CHAPTER 17:

. "ye meine kya kiya Rathod? Mujhse bohot badi galthi hogaye hai'I really missunderstood her."

"Arjun control yourself. Tumne koi galti nahi ki hai' infact kuch hone se pehle, usse sudharne ke mauka mile hai. Go back to Riya. Wo bichari bohot tensed hoge."

"nahi Rathod, I cant face her now. Patha meine gusse mien kya kya nahi kaha."

"tho atleast ek phone tho kar sakthe ho. Tell her that you are fine." Arjun was not sure but Rathod kept pushing him. He dialed her number, but no one picked it up. He was getting worried. He tried again and again' no response. "Ye Riya kaha gayi?" he was anxious.

"Sir Kahi usse kuch'." Chotu was tensed for his best friend. All looked worried. "Shree' track her phone" Rathod ordered. He had already started tracking. Arjun kept on trying. "please Riya' Please pick up the phone'"

"Sir phone aapke ghar pe hi hai." Arjun took the diary and rushed out of the office. Rathod and team also rushed behind him. But Arjun didn't wait for the SUV. He took the bike and went ahead. He was driving as a maniac. He rushed into the home. "RIYA' RIYA'." He kept calling her running to each room. At last he found her.

All his items were neatly placed on her bed. His photos, Roshni's dress. The 2 boxes... His memories... she was sitting on the floor with her head on her knees, sobbing. Arjun knew what a big mistake he had made. He went closer to her and sat down on her knees and gently placed his hands on her shoulder. She slightly raised her head.

The eyes that always had a glitter, were red. The dimple smile was missing. The confidence was lost somewhere. It was as if she had lost a big battle. A battle for life. For existence. But one look at his face, she was brought back to life. As if she got a new reason to live. She was surprised. She held onto his hands as if he would vanish any moment she would leave him.

"Arjun I'm sorry... I'm sorry.. mien ... mien... aapko dhoka nahi de rahe the ... aap sab sunne ke hal mien nahi the.. isisliye...I'm sorry.. I'm sorry..." She kept on crying. "Sh... Riya... its ok... its ok..."

"nahi Arjun.. I should have spoken to you... wo doctor ne kaha tha ke..." She couldn't complete... he placed his hands on her lips and nodded negative. Tears started flowing from her eyes... he wipped it with his thumps and cupped her face. And kept looking at her.

"Arjun I'm sorry...wo mien..." He stopped her again and showed her diary. She was shoacked. "Ab tumhe kuch kehne ke zaroorath nahi hai..ithna pyaar karthi ho mujhse? Paagal... kab thak wait karenge mujhe? Huh?"

"jab thak mere saans chalenge thab thak..." now the tears were nonstop. He felt a pain in his heart. He slowly brought her close to him and kissed her forehead and hugged her. She lost all her control and broke down on his shoulder. He kept her close to his heart... Promising himself never to leave her alone.

Rathod, Shree and Chotu had reached the home after a few minutes after Arjun. now they were witnessing the reunion. They were so happy. Rathod mentioned them to leave them alone and went out of the home to their SUV. their mission was over. Shree had tears in his eyes. Chotu placed his hands on his shoulder and Shree went in for a hug. Chotu held Shree for a while.

Chotu: yaar publicaly badnaam karne ka plan hai kya? Aise publicaly hug karke.?

Shree smiled and left Chotu. Even Rathod couldn't hold his smile. He was so happy to have such a great team.

Rathod: don't worry Chotu, tumhare dept store yaha se kaafi dur hai.

Chotu: ha wo tho hai... WHAT? YE KYA KEH RAHE HO AAP? AAPKO KAISE'? KAB'?

Rathod: Chotu, for your kind information, mien "chief" hu... "bewakoof" nahi... samjhe ya samjhao...

Shree was giggling. Chotu was open mouthed. Rathod was enjoying the moment. "Ab chale?"

Shree-Chotu: kaha Sir?

Rathod: Kaha matlab? Office!!! Don't you dare to go home before completing the paper works...

He walked into the SUV. "yaar, inka bhi kuch karna hoga.. Arjun sir almost sudharne wale hai.." Chotu whispered in Shree's ears and went back to office.

Inside Arjun's home:

Arjun sat on th floor leaning onto the bed. He wrapped Riya and she was keeping her head close to his heart. She weeped for a while, and he kept holding her. After a while she was so relaxed. After all her Arjun was back. Arjun could feel her relaxing. He slightly took her fce in his hands. "Riya' I'm sorry. Ab thak job hi kaha, job bhi kiya' un sab keliye I'm sorry."

"nahi Arjun, please don't say sorry."

"aaj mien ek aisi kadam lena jaraha hu jisme tumhe ek bohot badi decision lena hoga. Patha nahi jab mere yaadash wapas ayege, ye sab mujhe yaad hoga ke nahi, par mien ab sirf iss pal ko jeena chahthe hai. kya tum mere saath donge?" she nodded with her whole heart. He made her stand and he too stood up. He took the box, and went on his knees. He took the solitaire ring and lends it towards her.

"Riya Mukherje... will you marry me? I promise jab thak mujhe thode se bhi hosh hoge I'll love you. Aur agar mar bhi gaya..." she closed his mouth. He took her hands in his other hand, "aur agar mar bhi gaya, tho bhi hamesha hamesha tumse pyaar karunga... so will you marry me?"

He was following them ever since they left the mall. He saw them going to the ETF office. "oh... tho dono ab ETF mien hai... yaani... Arjun is back with a bang..." he smirked. Later he followed them to their home. He was surprised when both went in. "kya? Dono saath rahthe hai? kya zammana hai yaar?" he waited outside.

After a while, he saw Arjun banging the door, and leaving the home on a bike. He was fuming... and the girl was running behind him. Crying, calling out for him. But he left. The girl fell on her knees and cried for a while. he knew this was his best opportunity. But something in him told that the game was getting more interesting. He waited.

After a while the girl went in crying. He waited again. After almost 1 and a half hour, Arjun came back as a maniac, in full speed to his home. He was rushing in. then a SUV came with 3 men. They too rushed in. then silence for a while. after some time the 3 men came out. The young man was crying and the huge man was hugging him. The 3 were speaking, consoling each other. All seemed happy.

"lagtha hai ke abhi bhi iss duniya 'pyaar', 'humdardi', 'apnapan' ... aise shabdon ke sahaare jee rahe hai... lekin kab thak?" he smirked. He waited again. There was silence again. He called Peter. "mujhe ETF officer Riya ke bare mien saare information chahiye.. wo bhi bohot jald. Wo kya hai? kaha se hai? aur khaas baath uske aur ACP Arjun ke saath kya rishtha hai? samjhe? Aur thode der keliye mujhe koi calls nahi chahiye. Leave me alone...I'll call you back" he cut the call. And took his car away.

Peter knew what he meant by 'leave me alone'. At times, boss would go somewhere'. Were no one was allowed. No one knew his past or present, in fact no one dared to ask him. So he took the order seriously.

He drove to a lonely home. The interior was minimum furnished, mostly it was dark inside. He reached a room. The only light was falling onto a life size portrait. She had a cute smile, innocent looks, culry hair. He sat on the rocking chair opposite to her. It was as if she was smiling at him. He could feel her presence. He could feel her sitting near his chair on her knees, her hands on his. She was looking at him with a smile. He smiled back. He could hear her voice. "I'm sorry Sikander, mujhe patha nahi tha, ke tum mujhse pyaar karthe ho... I never knew it. you are always my friend. Always... aur pyaar... pyaar tho mien usse karthi hu... I love him, Sikander... I'm sorry..."

He closed his eyes, blocking the voice, the feelings... He opened with the new hatred... he went closer to the portrait and touched her cheeks'

"kaash... kaash uss din tum mujhse 'ha...' kaha kotha... mere badle uss Arjun ko na chuna hotha... Tho ye sab nahi hotha... na tumhe... na un ladkiyonko... aur ab, na uss Riya ko kuch hotha... you are responsible for all these... in sabke zimedaar tum ho Roshni... sirf tum..."
