Half an hour later:

The entire ETF team, the commissioner, Sameera and Alex assembled in a conference hall of the hotel, with Trivedi hand cuffed in front of them. Rafeeq and the others were being dealt by the intelligence department.

"Ab batao Trivedi, sirf sach aur kuch nahin," Rathore said slamming his fist on the table.

"Rafeeq ka plan tha. Main usse kayi baar milchuka tha. Meri bhi kuch dealings the uske saath. Aaj ek bahut badi consignment nikalne wali thi Goa ke liye. Wahan ek naye dealer se milne waale the. Sirf Rafeeq jaanta tha unke baare mein. Ye island ke do owners bhi isme shaamil the. Woh hamein Goa mein milne waale the. Mein sirf ek naam jaanta hoon. Anurag, aur kuch nahin," Trivedi paused.

Arjun and Riya looked at each other. Rafeeq was also talking about the same guy.

"Jahan tak mujhe pata hain uske upar bhi ek aadmi hain, jo iss waqt North India mein kahin se operate kar raha hain. Rafeeq hamein ye plan succeed hote hi sab kuch batane wala tha. Pehle hamne Sailesh aur uske asst. ko hamare plan mein shaamil kiya. Phir uske baad Rishab aur Suman ko yahaan bheja. Woh dono Rafeeq ke log hain. Achanak ek raat ko hum kuch arms transport kar rahe the, aur uss shore ke paas un couples ne hamein dekh liya. Shaayad koi party kar rahe the pata nahin! Unhe maarna pada aur hamein human bomb ke liye bali ka bakra mil gaya. Kisi bhi tarah ETF ko yahaan bulane ki plan thi Rafeeq ki. Badla lena chahta tha. Sultan ke arrest ke baad uska bahut bada loss hua! Uske saath hamara bhi. Isiliye maine dhamki ki naatak ki aur uss asst. manager ne Anoop Saxena ko ETF ke baare mein idea diya. Aur aap log chaal mein phas bhi gaye. Lekin' Lekin'" Trivedi couldn't continue and hung his head in shame.

"Lekin aapki beti," Riya spoke, "Uski kya galti thi? Woh tho shaadi karke ek naya jeevan shuru karne waali thi."

"Nahin! Mein kabhi apni beti ko kuch bhi nahin hone deta. Main usse apne saath le jaane wala tha, agar sab kuch plan ke hisaab se chalta tho," Trivedi said with tears in his eyes.

"Aapko kya lagta hain? Main aapke saath chalti?" Sameera said with anger in her voice, "Kabhi nahin. Aap ko papa kehte huye bhi mujhe ghin aati hain. Isse zyada tho mujhe maut manzoor hain!!!"

Alex controlled Sameera, "Sam, calm down," saying so he hugged her and Sameera broke into tears.

"Terrorism ke anth ke naam pe hum desh ke bahar gandagi ko khoj the rehthe hain. Lekin desh ke andar jo gandagi phaili hain uska kya? Aaj tumne na sirf apni beti ko dhoka diya hain, balki iss poore desh ko dhoka diya hain. Tumne unn sabko dhoka diya hain jinhone tumhe maan samman diya hain aur aaj tumhari jaan bachane ke liye apne jaan ki baazi lagayi thi. Shame on you Trivedi!" Arjun said slamming his fist on the table and walked out of the room.

One hour later:

3:30AM

The entire ETF team along with the Commissioner assembled in #502, where some coffee was sent for them. They hadn't eaten anything that night. In fact, Riya and Arjun hadn't eaten anything since their lunch the previous day.

The chef asked them if anything should be prepared for them, but they rejected the offer. No one was hungry.

Arjun was asked to rest for a while, as his wound started bleeding again, was dressed a few minutes back. Arjun being the stubborn guy he was just sat on the couch.

"Excellent Job!" the commissioner said to Rathore who thanked him in return.

The commissioner told them that they would be staying in the resort for the night and the next day they would leave for the main land. After some other instructions and praises he left.

Everybody in the room relaxed a bit. Arjun and Riya were sitting at the two extreme ends of the couch. Shree and Chotu occupied the bed while Rathore sat on the recliner.

Shree was the first one to speak, "Riya, I don't have words for you today. Just this," he said and clapped.

Riya was stunned and turned a little red, "Stop it Shree. Maine sirf apni duty nibhayi."

"Sahi tho keh raha hain Shree. Good job Riya," Rathore joined Shree.

"Thank you sir," she said without another word. She controlled her tears. This was all she had wanted, a proper acceptance in the team as an ETF officer. This was what she had worked for. She owed most of it to Arjun. He had been her teacher, knowingly, unknowingly. She was glad she could finally prove herself; that she was capable of ETF. Arjun was proud too. He knew how important Riya's help was to him that night. She constantly supported him, saved him despite her injuries. He knew her ankle would be hurting like hell, in fact it would've been swollen by now. He looked at her hands. They were bruised. He couldn't have made it out of the cave alive, if it wasn't for Riya.

As soon as they finished their coffee, Rathore said, "Okay team let's rest for now. Arjun tum yahin kamra use karlo. Ham sab apne apne kamron ke chaabiya collect karlete hain."

Arjun nodded. Rathore, Shree and Chotu got up to leave and moved towards the door, while Riya got up and moved towards the cupboard. The trio stopped at the door and turned towards Riya wondering as to why she wasn't coming. Shree and Chotu looked at each other with a stupid grin plastered on their faces. Arjun was also amused, waiting for Riya's reaction. Riya turned towards the trio at the door and wondered what was wrong. Then Rathore said, "Tum nahin aa rahi ho Riya?"

"I'm coming sir. Meri bag aur kuch cheeze hain cupboard mein. Main unhe leke aoongi, aap chaliye," she replied innocently, to everybody's surprise and a tiny smile appeared on Arjun's face.

"Theek hain," Rathore said and the three of them walked out of the room.

Shree and Chotu started laughing as soon as they exited, "Kitni paagal hain yeh!" Shree said.

Rathore shook his head and thought, "Ek din dono pitenge Rawte ke haathon mein, agar ye dono aise hi lage rahe tho."

#502

Riya took her bag out of the cupboard and packed her belonging while Arjun relaxed on the couch closing his eyes. When she was about to leave the room, she turned towards Arjun and said, "Thank you sir."

He opened his eyes and looked at Riya. He got up from the couch and walked towards her, "Maine kuch nahin kiya hain Riya. Tum mein kabiliyat thi, aur tumne aaj prove kiya hain ki tum ETF ke kaabil ho. Simple. Isiliye tumhe mujhe thank you kehne ki koi zaroorat nahin hain."

Riya couldn't believe her ears. It was like he had relieved the huge burden on her shoulders. She would remember that day her entire life; the day ACP Arjun Suryakant Rawte, her Arjun sir, accepted her as a part of the team. His acceptance was so precious for her!

She was fighting back her tears, but Arjun could see them in her eyes. Riya nodded and said, "Good night sir," with a smile on her face. The very smile he wanted to see, the smile that was wiped away by him. He felt accomplished.

"Good night," he said as she walked out of his room.

At the reception:

Rathore took his keys and left for his room, while Shree and Chotu were waiting for Riya.

When Riya approached them, "Tum aagayi? Itni jaldi?" Shree said mocking her.

Riya looked at Shree confused and realized the meaning for their stupid grins upstairs in #502. She punched Shree on his arm and said, "Ab sirf hairline fracture hi hua hain, puri taang toot jaayegi, bol rahi hoon."

"Arey waah hamari Riya tho ek dum Jhansi ki Rani bangayi hain!" Chotu said.

"Ab bas bhi karo yaar. Bahut thak gayi hoon."

Shree and Chotu then looked at each other. They decided to leave her for the night.

"Theek hain ab tum jaao. Chodte hain tumhe. Lekin baad mein hisaab bara bar karenge. Lekin Riya, tum tho kamaal nikli aaj," saying Chotu patted her.

"Ouch," Riya said and then smiled, "Thanks Chotu!"

Riya bid good night to them and went to her room, #303.

She needed rest! She quickly changed into her night dress and went to sleep.

11:30AM

Outside #303:

The entire ETF team minus Riya, were standing outside the door banging it continuously. Riya wasn't opening the door. Shree called her again and again in the past one hour, but she wasn't lifting the phone. They had no other choice but to break open the door. Chotu ran into the door with full force, but before he even reached the door, it opened. Riya moved out of the way just in time and Chotu fell on the floor of her room with a thud. Her eyes widened as she turned to face her team. She was still in her night suit, fortunately a pretty decent one.

"Kya ho raha hain?" she asked casually.

"Phone kya phek diya hain tum ne? Aur ye darwaza kyun nahin khol rahi ho?" Shree demanded her.

"Calm down Shree. Phone silent pe hain. Aur main tho abhi abhi uthi hoon. Aap chaliye main tayaar hoke aati hoon," she said as she walked back into her room leaving the team wondering if she was alright.

Arjun and Rathore shook their heads and left. Chotu and Shree looked at each other once and left her room closing the door behind them. Riya then came to door, locked it. She turned around and leaned against it, "Woh sab pareshaan the mere liye?" she smiled. She was so happy; after so long she finally felt truly and genuinely happy that there was still somebody who cared for her. It felt like a new beginning to her!

And, indeed, it was going to be! Both for her and Arjun.

PRECAP: The breaking news was that the seven year old grand daughter of an ex-minister was kidnapped that afternoon at 3:30. Rathore is shocked hearing the ex-minister's name.

The scene now shifts to the minister's house. Rathore slams his fist against the table behind which the minister is sitting. "Sameer, ruko!" a female voice is heard in the background.

"I'm not like you, Chauhan saab! Jo apni niji dushmani nikaalne ke liye apni beti ki shaadi shuda zindagi barbaad kar sakta hain. Aur aaj jab aaapki poti ki jaan khatre mein hain, tab bhi aapko hamari dusmani hi yaad aati hain? Mein Saumya ko bachaoonga, aapko pasand ho ya na ho! Understand?" Rathore said, and was looking furious.
