Anjali consoles Maya and tells her to be strong. She says I am, because I have you.
Anjali's family and others arrive in cars and go in. Ashok is standing outside when Raja walks up the path. He asks Raja who asked you to come? Raja says you're athai wanted me to come..he tells Ashok not to be suspicious as in the end, it will come back to hurt him.
Chak thanks everyone for coming. He starts acting and says what a sad day it is for him today. I am in this position because yen nanban potta pitchai. Maya and Anjali are looking angrily at him. He acts some more, points at the place where chidambaram died, cries some more(great acting by the guy who plays chak). Maya has flashbacks of her husband dying(i feel so sorry for her, having to go through all that and being so helpless). Raja puts his hand on her shoulder.
Chak 'calms down' and introduces his lawyer to the family. He says, all the sothu is for Chidambaram's child, its going to be written to that child today. He announces that the heir is here in the gathering. Everyone is surprised, even the lawyer. He says its Anjali.
Manjula and Guna protest straight away. Anjali's parents stay quiet. Chak explains (what he thinks is)the situation, that Anjali was sent away for her own safety when she was born. Yamuna walks off in anger saying, i dont want to be a witness to all this drama(well said!). Thilaga cries and says, dont believe him, your my akka, i cant give you up to anyone.
Chak appeals to Sundaram to tell the truth. He stammers a bit and then confirms it, in tears, saying that Anjali is not his(at least sundaram did the right thing for once). Chak tells her to get ashirvadham from her 'amma'. Guna and Thilaga beg her not to but Saratha lets her go. She looks at Raja, and falls at Maya's feet, who blesses her. Saratha is sobbing. Anjali run's back and holds her arm.
Raja is going to leave without eating. Anjali asks him, do you think I will take all this sothu. Raja says I dont care about the sothu, only you and my mum. He asks her to make arrangements for him to take his mum away as soon as possible. Ashok comes out and asks whats going on. She says I was just asking Raja to stay and eat before he goes. He says why, if Raja doesnt eat, wont you? Anjali walks in, disgusted. Ashok goes to Raja, hey auto, i dont want you to come hear my house again. Raja says, there will be a day when I am able to say these exact same words to you, and walks off.
Saratha is sobbing outside. Manjula, Guna and Thilaga say to her, dad may have said it but you still havent said that Anjali is not your daughter. Sundaram tries to make her say it but she just carries on crying.
Lawyer asks Chak how he knew she was Chidambaram's child. He said he just put bits and pieces together and figured it out. He asks when they can write everything to Anjali's name. Lawyer says i first need to dicuss something with you. Chak asks what and he says, come to my office tomorrow and I will tell you...Chak looks worried.
