RanVeer OS: Midnight Date!
Rani tiptoed out of the room after talking with Birju in a hushed tone, completely unaware of the fact that how much of a light sleeper her husband was.
Veer on the other hand had woken up the moment he heard her whispering. And when she walked out of the room he sat straight on the floor, sighed looking in the direction she disappeared.
"Now what problem is she going to get herself into? " He muttered to himself before changing his clothes in a hurry and walked out.
On his way out of the mansion, he remembered Kumud's words telling him that Rani hadn't eaten anything in the whole day, so he quickly took some food along with him from the kitchen.
'Things you do for your wife! ' he shook his head before walking out of the kitchen with a bag of food in his hand.
On reaching out, he sighed in relief when he found her on the road, searching for some rickshaw.
'At this godly hour what rickshaw she is seeking help from? ' he thought and in that moment he feared about her safety, the time was too odd and her being alone wasn't much of a help. Not that she wasn't strong enough but he needed to make sure that she reaches safely, wherever she wanted to go after all it was his responsibility as her husband.
He then quickly dialled a number and within a few minutes a rickshaw came her way which made her happy as a smile appeared on her face.
'Things as small as this makes you happy Rani! And that's what makes me feel more protective towards you! 'He thought seeing her smile from a distance before following the rickshaw in his own car.
'Where is she even going at this time?' He thought as the route was unknown to him and with each passing moment, he dreaded more for her safety.
On reaching her destination, she got out and Veer abruptly stopped his car. He then noticed her going inside a random house. He got confused as to whose house was it?
Anyhow, he got out of the car and charged towards the rickshaw driver.
"You do know me right? And that woman is my wife, so if you dared to harm her or anything then i won't hesitate a bit before killing you! " Veer threatened the auto rickshaw driver in his infamous serious tone to which the guy immediately got scared.
"Sir i am innocent! I won't do anything to her! I swear on god! " He said out of fear.
"Hmm. That would be best for you! " He glared at him one last time and went to peep inside the house to hear a heated argument between Birju and Rani.
'So it's Birju's house! But if he takes even a step towards her, i am going to kill him then!' Veer thought but his anger instantly melted like an icecream on room temperature melts when he heard her next words.
Her counting all his good deeds to Birju and defending him infront of her currently drunk best friend took away Veer's heart. Birju trying to fill Rani against him wasn't something suprising for Veer but her saying out words of appreciation for him made his heart flutter with happiness.
He had always known the fact that she thought highly of him, the letter she wrote to him when he saved her from Jai singh was the proof he had but today it was something more, something more special than everything else. But the only problem was, he couldn't point out exactly what it was.
He felt giddy on inside and he wasn't eben aware of the reason so he tried convincing himself with the fact that her praising him behind his back made him feel like that.
But the next moment he ended up getting shocked on seeing her slapping a drunk Birju. His eyes almost popped out on witnessing the scene in front of him from an half open door.
'For the first time, i don't want to be in Birju's place ever and face her wrath! He would definitely have her finger marks on his cheeks a while later! ' he concluded.
If in Baliya he had seen an angry Rani, then this was something more crazy as she couldn't listen anything against him. She even slapped Birju for him. A lone tear escaped his eyes seeing her so much genuine concern for him.
All his life, apart from his family, no one has made him feel this lucky but here she was doing everything firsts in his life that too unknowingly.
'I promise you Rani! I will always keep you happy, no matter what the situations are! ' he determined to himself before hiding behind a tree as he heard her coming outside.
She then sat in the rickshaw and went.
He quickly went to his car and followed the rickshaw again still a bit dazed because of what he witnessed.
"Why is she going on the accident spot at almost 1 in night! No wonder she is crossing all the limits of recklessness! Tomorrow i will definitely have a word with her about this little adventure and will set some rules as well for the sake of her safety which clearly she doesn't care of!" He muttered to himself as he immediately identified the area she was heading to.
"Oh no! I have to stop her! " He huffed as he spotted her talking to the tea vendor.
He was sure that she must be talking about the accident night only, he drove his car more closer so that she could spot him.
But her reaction on seeing him was what amused him the most.
'What does she think of me? As some hitler husband? ' he thought and immediately anger flared in his veins. He then got out of his car and marched towards her with a serious face though in his mind he was amused at her childish behavior.
"Please tell me something about the accident! I don't have much time! " She spoke hastily.
"Why rani? It's just 1 am! You do have the whole night for it! " She heard his voice and slowly turned to look at him aa if he was some ghost of those typical horror movies.
She then made a face as that of an innocent kid who is anything but innocent while he continued to stare at her.
"This innocent look on your face won't work Rani! " He deadpanned and she immediately made an angry face.
"What are you doing here Doctor Sahab?" She asked raising her eyebrows.
"Even i can ask the same! What are you doing here at this time Rani? " He asked with a smirk.
"I have to prove you innocent so i will do whatever but you can't follow me like that!" She informed.
"And why can't i follow you? Just like you have a mission, i have one too! I will try my level best to stop you Rani! " He reminded her yet again that he wasn't with her in this and she was alone.
"Fine! " She huffed in annoyance before again turned towards the vendor.
" Excuse me, I.. " She started but her words got cut off short by him.
"I am hungry Rani! Aren't you hungry too? Please give us two Samosas and tea! " He chirped in.
'He is trying to distract you Rani! Don't believe him!' She thought before turning towards Veer.
"Two? " She asked.
"I know you are hungry too so i ordered for both of us! " He explained her.
"See Doctor Sahab..."
"I don't want to see anything right now Rani! Let's eat first then make you have the medicines then only i will talk with you! " He said again cutting her words short.
"I won't take them! " She said knowing the fact that the medicines must have some sort of sedatives and right now she doesn't have time to rest.
"Rani you very well know that i know how to force you and still you are putting up this childish act of yours! " He said with a sigh.
"But.. " Before she could retort, he stuffed the samosa in her mouth.
"Taste this and tell how is it? " He said making her glare at him which went unaffected to him as he got busy in eating his own samosa.
"Stop staring Rani and eat! " He said without looking at her.
She then looked here and there for a comfortable seat! On finding the nearby bench empty, she walked upto it and sat while enjoying the somosa. He chuckled at her behavior before walking upto sit with her.
"Date! " She heard him mutter after few seconds of comfortable silence.
"24th march 2021! " She stated making him confused.
"Huh? " He voiced out in confusion.
"You said date right? So i told you today's date! " She informed him while he chuckled.
"Rani, not that date! The two of us spending time like this is called as a date! " He said making her confused.
"Date? Doctor Sahab explain it in more simpler words! I am not getting it!" She said not understanding his words at all.
"Let it be! you won't understand!" He said smiling.
She shrugged before ordering one more samosa for herself.
"No Rani! That's enough! You already had two! And you are ill so you should eat something healthy and not this! " He said out of concern.
"I don't want any healthy food because that isn't tasty but this is! " She said pointing towards the samosa in his hand.
He shook his head and walked to his car and came back with the same bag of food which he took from the mansion before leaving.
"Here you go! Eat this because its tasty and healthy! " He said sitting back on his earlier position and taking out the food.
"Doctor Sahab why did you take it with you? Do you always carry food like this?" She asked out of curiosity.
"In past i didn't but now i have to because i have a wife who is certainly way too much stubborn! " He teased.
"Are you calling me stubborn? " She asked innocently.
"No i am calling my other wife stubborn! " He said in an annoyed tone.
"Oh ok! " She said and took a bite from the plate of food in front of her.
"Huh? What did you think in your head Rani? Spill now! " He almost ordered her as she agreed to him without getting the joke he mentioned.
"That you were talking about that skeleton which is in your room! She is your first wife, i know! " She said giggling.
"First, that's not my room but our room and second that skeleton isn't my wife! " She nodded her head before resuming eating.
After having their stomachs full Veer paid the vendor and passed medicines and a water bottle to Rani!
"I don't want to take them! "
"There isn't any option Rani! You have to eat them to get fit! "
"No! "
"Rani! " One hard glare from him and she immediately took the tablets.
"Sometimes you behave like those handful kids who don't understand there parent's warnings before they get scolded! " He said in amusement.
"You are calling me a handful kid Doctor Sahab?" With ththat she stood up, ready to start a debate with him when suddenly she felt dizziness and blacked out.
"Rani! " He called out as he held her on time before she could fall on ground and hurt herself.
"This is the result when you exhaust your body way too much! " He complained.
"Date is over and it's time to rest!" He whispered before taking her in his arms and went back towards his car.
"Sir my money! " The rickshaw driver came.
"Hmm! Here." He handed him the money before driving back to mansion.
