It’s been 5 years of this show and there is no development in her character each leap she gets poor. What happened to Anuj Inheritance is this a nice way for him to die by his brothers taking his property wouldn’t Anupama want to save what’s his?

Each leap she stays with random people and then they get disappeared

When it’s time to speak up like that dad to his son she doesn’t why

trp and money. If makers have to keep minting money they will have to keep Anupa a perpetual bechari. There are a few prerequisites of being a FL.

  1. Forever bechari. There always has to be a reason as to why the abusers Shahs are always there to torture her, keep recurring back into her life. Or, rather she keeps going back to them. Also the reason why she is poor or even if she does get money, she ends up losing it.
  2. Savageness. The FL has to have someone they can preach, thrash and stand up against. But if she permanently severs ties with her abusers, it goes against the first one- Being bechari.
  3. Never admitting mistakes. The FL never admits her mistakes. Because makers want to create the narrative that the FL is only misunderstood and never wrong. That's why whenever she is shown making a mistake, the makers make the other person make another mistake, or whitewash the mistake of the FL or butcher the other character that ultimately her mistake gets shoved in the background.
  4. Appeasing to sufferers. There are many women who have been suffering in their lives and aren't able to sever ties with their abusers. When they see a FL who also suffers but her obsession with her abusers is shown to be noble, they get to validate their own inability to stand up against injustices meted out to them. It also reinforces the mindset that a woman (represented only by the FL, no other woman) is ideal only when she doesn't stand up for herself but only adjusts, compromises and cries. People like to sympathise more than applaud. It is general human mindset. When a person sees someone suffering, they sympathise and connect. When they see someone being better, they don't connect.
  5. Dissatisfaction brings viewers. If the perpetual bechariness ends, the people who are looking forward to her journey will get their satisfaction and won't continue watching. It is their dissatisfaction with her current state that keeps them hooked with the hopes that one day her sufferings will end and they will be satisfied. If they show her as the version many are expecting to see, the dissatisfaction will end.

I remember writing something similar sometime. But I don't know where. So, here it is. The reason why Anupa will never change and forever remain the disgusting weakling that she is.smiley36

Funnily the bechari gets reality checks from good people and when the "good people" are appreciated for showing the mirror and doing the right thing, they flip to be vile creatures. How else will the bechari remain one and how does one justify her wrongdoings?

This goes in loops.

With regard to TRPs of this show. Would this same show, same story, same cast, same makers on any other channel have gained the same TRPs?

Was it a question to me? If yes, I'm not sure really. There have been pathetic serials that have gained TRPs on other channels like Uttaran on Colors, Kumkum Bhagya on Zee so maybe. The more disgusting the show, the more TRPs it can generate. I'm not absolutely sure thoughsmiley36

No no. It was a general observation of TRPs.

By default certain channels have higher TRPs than the rest by sheer viewership numbers. So the lowest TRP of a channel may be higher than the highest TRP of another just by virtue of the rate of subscription to the channel.

Anyway, TRP seems to be a function of duration of viewership and not likeability. But ab system his flawed hai toh kya hi karein.

Ab aap hi batao. Ek hi show agar saalon saal ghista rehta hain toh usme content ho bhi kya sakta hain? Par it would have created an audience who watch only due to habit bhale hi fast forward par dekhe ya actively bhi follow na kare, number aagate na.

Yet the TRPs were highest when Anupama left shah house and went with Anuj. TRPs were always higher when she fought back

I dont buy it, I dont see the co-relation between her suffering and TRPs. Makers obviously think it, but there is no proof. There was no dip in TRPs when she was with Anuj and happy, in fact average TRPs were much higher than when she was suffering. Today the show barely gets 2 TRP, a huge dip from when it reached above 4.3 when she was happy and with Anuj.

I think its also to do with the makers and writers being genuinely regressive and see this as a women's place.
