Anuj and Anupamaa - Leads or villains ?

Shouldn't leads have some moral compass? At least the ones who boast about sanskaars, culture and morality ? I mean just imagine giving lectures on moral values, bhakti, shardha, sanskruti, taking pride in the ancient wisdom of Bharat, and then going about cheating a woman who is bedridden and took care of your daughter when one parent left for her ego and the other one was clearly incapable, as per his own acceptance, of filling the void of both parents...

Why wouldn't Shruti feel insecure? Is she so dispensable? She listens to the laughter of Anuj who is with Anupamaa, which is perhaps the loudest in the past 5 years. Behind her back, they touch each other. Anuj literally eyes on Anupamaa, and wants to be around her all the time. When Shruti talks to him about marriage he keeps on avoiding the answer. Wouldn't anyone in her place wonder why? They were supposed to get married anyway. Anuj avoiding to answer her almost seems like he is waiting for Adhya and Anupamaa to reconcile so that eventually he can dump Shruti. This doesn't makes him romantic, it makes him disgusting. Unlike Ekta's shows the Shruti is so far not even negative. She genuinely loves Adhya and Anuj. A person with an absolutely dheela character will do what Anuj is doing to Shruti at this point of time that too when she is at her weakest, is bedridden and vulnerable. So far I never commented on his ONS & multiple affairs because firstly his life in US was never explicitly shown to us and secondly I didn't find anything wrong in him trying to move on in life or forming consensual relationships, which may have a fallout due to variety of reasons. But now seeing what he is doing to Shruti, it makes me feel he is absolutely, intentionally capable of using women for his advantage and then dumping them. If that was not enough, he even dumps the complete responsibility of bringing Anupamaa to their house on Shruti and even brushes off her insecurity as trivial. How is this man even a hero?

Coming to Anupamaa - self-respect toh Maa ne kab ka bech di hai to us baare mein kya hi kahen, but talking of relationships aren't they a two-way street? So far there is nothing that makes me as a viewer believe that Adhya "needs" Anupamaa, an argument used by Anuj to bring her home. Something that Anupamaa can do for Adhya that Shruti can't do better.

Anupamaa thinks that a mother's role is limited to cooking food for the child or maximum taking care of the material needs, the core reason why no matter how much Bhashan she gives to Tosu and Pakhi, they don't give a damn to what she thinks, feels or believes. Her role in Adhya's life in the past was even more limited than it was in Pakhi and Toshu's life, which is very unfortunate because this is a child whom she could have raised, a child in whose life she would have had a say, which previously she never had. So the result is that Pakhi and Tosu turned out to be rude because she never had any authority and Adhya is rude to her because she had too much authority but never utilized it properly.

Now that she has entered Adhya's life, she again limits her role to serving food to her or holding her tight in panic attacks, which anyway makes you wonder how that helps. She is great enough to take care of her during fever, which she might have had so many times in the past five years when Anupamaa was not present and before that also, when Anupamaa had to be pushed by Bapuji to attend her. So what does Anupamaa contribute to Adhya's life now? Why should Anupamaa and Adhya be together apart from the only fact that Anupamaa is the lead? What is Anupamaa's role in Adhya's life apart from being a cook or an artificial psychiatrist who is bad at her job? If she is not even putting in effort to understand why there is a deep-seated hatred, what has been Adhya's life in the past five years, not even introspecting a little, no conversation is happening between the two, what is she even doing over there? Treating ailments is the job of a doctor. A mother's role beyond cooking & taking care has to be that of a guide, a mentor, a listener and at times also a friend. Good food can reach the stomach but kind & considerate words and the quality time spent will only reach the child's heart. Perhaps why Shruti despite not being a good cook, a traditional woman or a biological mother, managed to touch Adhya's heart but Anupamaa still struggles to find that place in the lives of all of her three children.

Is Adhya just a tool to keep the leads apart when she has very genuine issues? It is anyway extremely difficult to bring these two people together. There is no space created or left for Anupamaa to find a position in Adhya's life. Adhya despises her and Maa keeps doing what she is best at - cooking and giving lectures without understanding the pulse of the matter. But if it is so inevitable, at least put in some effort. At least make Adhya talk about her life, and make Anupamaa listen for once and please do that without making Shruti collateral damage. Given that Adhya and Shruti's relationship overcame huge storms of life and stabilized over a period of time, it is more believable despite the details not being shown, while Anupamaa and Adhya's relationship would look extremely hollow, with the half-hearted effort that is being put on and the emotional damage to Shruti that is happening because of that.

At this point, Anuj and Anupamaa are just coming out to be two people who are using a child's mental and emotional issues to come together, while throwing a really nice woman Shruti under the bus.

But who told Shruti to stay with Anuj . Shruti could find better men who would love her and respect her . Why don't she leave Anuj and moved to another state or to India.

Does she have self respect?? Oh no ! Yeh toh anupamaverse hai isme thodi na kisi bhi women mein self respect hai?

Had mentioned it earlier, mentioning again, Shruti, Barkha are characters who are dealing with the fear of loneliness.It is natural.

For ALL of Anupama's dukh, dard etc., she had her mother and brother, who stood by her, took her in and held her. Whether she was right or unreasonable.

She went to Kanta's when she had no place else to go, that too because of her own doing.

Who does Shruti or Barkha have? No friends (which by the way is highly surprising), no family.

Shruti's instant closeness to Anupama may also be attributed to lack of friends.

Whatever Anuj-Anupama are doing is Brutally worse than what anyone has done to them.

Anuj - i have been saying this from a year or more that i find anuj having one night stand in 26 years before as creepy. I mean anuj had ONS with women in USA for 26 years before coming to india, although all those were consensual may be those girls wanted anuj to marry them too. You cannot blindly assume that since most of those ONS were US women and they are unlike indian women so they are ok with ONS.

Did anuj tell them all that he loves a girl anupama in india and only wants pleasure and no relationship no marraige no responsibility. Atleast 70% of them would have expected the ONS to go into a long term relation and atleast 50% would expect a marriage may be or why would they start an ONS with anuj kapadiya. After all US women most have jobs 80% and have good salary and are not really dependent on a man economicaly or society wise.

So anuj used all those women for 26 years to satisfy his needs and abondoned them at will because he never intended to marry any of them. Would it not mentally impact f not all some of those woman when anuj just has ONS or few months of relationship and abondon them without them knowing he loves a girl called anupama back home so he will never be loyal to any other woman in life or marry them.

Hes doing same with shruti what he did with all those woman in 26 years but here instead of ONS he had 5 years live in relationship. Now viewers may say he abhors her hugging him closeness after anupama came he may have started this drama. Who knows living for 5 years in same house that they never had physical relationship or not who knows that? None knows other than shruti and anuj. How are we to understand what kind of relation anuj had with shruti last 5 years actually. Because no woman especially indian woman will move into a mans house just to sweep/mop and baby sit his kid. I am sure anuj has had a relationship with Shruti which extends beyond co parenting. But moment anupam appeared hes acting saintly as if he never loved shruti never had live in with her etc. The very fact you are livng with a woman unmarried means you are expecting long term permanent relationship. Otherwise no woman especially indian woman is so fool to live in with a man for 5 years without promises made etc. All indian woman and their parents will be not ok with live in unless man has promised something all over world.

Now anuj is openly flirting and having affair with anupam abehind shruti back in home where she co habit with him. If all this is not affair what is it? Is only getting physical an affair not really this feeeding each other in spoon, laughing and enjoying each other company is also afair or emotional betrayal only. No normal woman or behaves like this with a friend or collegaue or relative or ex whay anuj does with anupama and vice versa. Why anupama never fed in same spoon to yashdeep like anuj i want to know if its normal, why shes making faces and showing discontent at anuj closeness to shruti if she does not love anuj or want him back with her

Anupama - I do not want much to talk on anupama but rich and powerful men like anuj are rarely loyal to one and will switch boats if other options available. Anuj is trying to get close to anupama its obivous how hes roaming her hotel or attended food cooking show or now at his home etc. Its up to woman to put foot down and avoid creep behaviour or all norms of society and right and wrong get thrown out of window like kavya and maya did, Now anupama is following them in doing to shruti. But anupama is doing opp giving anuj encouragement by shifting to his house flirting with him.

I think in one of episodes .Shruti told anupama that she and Anuj never had been in physical relationship. (When shruti found out about maan secret meeting on her birthday )

Villain are those who feel sadistic pleasure seeing other pain they do planning plotting I.dont think anupama anuj fall in these criteria they feel sadistic pleasure seeing other in pain

Villains for me.

Both are in 45 - 50 age group and behave like immature, irresponsible people (can't type teenagers as teenagers have atleast more clarity than them).

Most disappointed with Anuj. Had almost of a mental breakdown twice - once about him not being priority and once about Choti not being priority. So, he knows exactly what a person feels like when their partner is busy with their ex and their family. And now, he is doing exactly the same with Shruti. Anu, Anu chant and interference in Toshu matter. I mean, what???

Anupamaa, I have spoken about a lot already. She ain't a maid as no maid would put up with Shah kind of abuse (Jhilmil made excuse of vacation and ran away) and would demand money for their services. She is a over glorified doormat except a doormat is an object and doesn't have free will. Hmmm.. I am out of analogies that would represent or be worse than Anupamaa. She actually made an abusive, cheater, chauvinist person like Meester Shah seem somewhat reasonable to me. 🫡

Still, it's the no. 1 show and people on SM are hating on Shruti for being the third wheel in her own relationship, so I can only say that a different Anupamaa airs for me for sure.

So according to this, Anupama is the villain of her life. She opposes her own growth and development by worshiping her so called abuser turned family.

Anuj is a sidekick. A showpiece whose value is in negative and is outdated. The showpiece needs a replacement now.

Why Anuj never told her in 4 years that he will never move on from his past. Why he didn’t stop her from moving in to his house. It all begins with Anupama reappearance. Anuj was very well enjoying Shruti company before that.

Why should Shruti move to some other state or India. It was not Shruti was living off Anuj. They were in mutual agreement in which they were going to get married in future. If Anuj wants to back out than it is Anuj responsibility to end things between them respectfully. He can’t just back behind her back to meet Anupama. He is now cheating on her with Anupama.

The problem with Anuj n Anupama is they are in self pity mode every time 24*7. They never took a moment to think how their behaviour affect others. Anupama for once didn’t stop to think that how Shruti will feel with her closeness of Anuj even when she was in same situations in the past.

For me they both are always me me me. For them anyone else doesn’t matter. First they have to feel the pain of others and come out of their self victimised mode.
