I know ye sabko pata hai ki aise chutkiyo me wo "Entrepreneur of the year" se lekar NRIs ke liye inspiration, ek renowned public speaker, aur Indian Govt ki or se koi award paa jaayegi.

Aur baad me Shahs ko ehsaas hoga (jo Anupamaa ke jaane ke baad barbaad ho jayenge) ki unki Anupamaa to thi hi etni special! Anuj "meri Anu" kahkar royega aur Kavya/Kinjal/Dimpy sab "Anupamaa hamari prerna hai" ke naare lagayenge!

Waise ajeeb ye lagta hai ki Anupamaa jaisi kisi aurat ka koi dost bhi kaise ho sakta hai?

I mean...real life me to lack of communication aur social networking ke zero chance ke kaaran waise bhi female friendships tut jati hain. I'm not saying ki women ke pass friends nahi hoti ya nahi ho sakti. (Aisi patriarchal thinking ko mai endorse nahi karti) I'm just saying ki ek behad traditional family me ekdam traditional si life jeene wali women ke paas dosti banane ka na chance hota hai aur conditioning ke karan unme se jyadatar to dost banane ki jarurat bhi nahi mahsus karti. (although unme ek khaalipan to hota hi hai, jise wo compensate karne ke liye tamam galat sahi harkate karti hain).

Point is... Ki jo log genuinely iske liye try karte hain, unhe bhi is society ke bandisho ke karan niraasha jhelni padti hai.

Par ye Anupamaa to... Ye to try bhi nahi karti. She is so God Damn lucky ki Devika still cares for her. She gives her time/emotions/resources. But Anupamaa to Devika, Mukku, GK, apni maa Kanta, Bhai Bhavesh aur apni ex-Nanad (jo Shah family me eklauti Sane member thi aur genuinely Anupamaa ki care karti thi) sabko ignore karti rahi hai. Earlier episodes, Anupamaa herself admitted ki usne Samar ko waise time/emotion/dulaar nahi diya, jaise wo baaki dono baccho ko deti rahi. Actually, Samar played a surrogate parent's role in her life.

But, for once Samar became self-conscious about his life and wanted to live for himself and realised the toxicity of Shah house... He became a villain. (It's another story that anyone who doesn't want to follow Anupamaa's path, she/he will become a villain)

Ye DKP wale story/script me koi mehnat nahi kar rahe. Ye to audience ka reviews ko notes samjhkar kuch bhi likh rahe hain. To inhe pata hona chahiye ki Anupamaa ne sirf Anuj aur CA ko hi nahi Devika/GK kaka/Apni maa/Bhai sabko hi ignore kiya hai, fayada uthaya hai. Apne self-respect ko kaudiyo ke bhaav becha hai aur pain ke prati addiction ko "sanskar" kahkar defend kiya hai.

We audience don't want to see Satynarayan ki Katha in melodramatic way (usne aisa kiya to usko aisa fal mila), we don't want regressive cringe stuff. We want to see a woman who acknowledges her mistakes, identify her abusers, who knows her self worth, who works hard for her career/family and friends and also, we want to see a woman who is in real sense empowered and progressive.

We don't want to see "suti saaree me bhagwaan", we want to see a woman who actually tries to let go of toxicity in her life, someone who takes therapy, who knows her limits as a human, who is flawed yet somewhat heroic. Her outfit is irrelevant for us.

And last but not the least: women's mental health is also a serious matter. They don't get automatically better after they cry in front of an idol (sorry, I'm not mocking anyone's faith here). They also need treatment and professional help like men.

Didn't he say that Anuj would also turn out to be another Vanraj and I guess this was referenced when he left to live with Maaya? Maybe I am remembering wrong but if he said Anuj would become another Anupamaa, I wonder how he had so much foresight? 😳
