However rude Dimpy was. Physical violence is not the answer to anything. All those people defending Anupama don't realise the long term repurcussions of someone constantly using physical violence to resolve conflict/silence the other party. And Dimpy is r*pe victim, she has seen horrible violence, experienced it personally.
If the PH had any sense they would realise that for such a character even a slap could trigger her PTSD which does not magically disappear just because you get married. And they would also realise that such scenes normalise violence and biases that are very deep rooted in our society.
This is the reason I am fine with Anupama never slapping Vanaraj. Because it would not solve anything. Actually even slapping her children is not going to solve anything now. She should have corrected their behaviour when they were much younger.
Now her slaps only cause drama, prove that she has made a complete turn from abused to abuser. A common psychological consequence of internalising trauma, not processing your emotions, suppressing your own abuse and justifying it, but I don't think PH is that aware of their character sketch to realise that is what it is.
In any case, just because someone is annoying you, has a differing opinion from you, is being rude does not mean you will just slap them or shove them around or kick them. While it is a very human reaction,
1. it speaks more to the way the person performing the action is processing the situation rather than them doing something 'right'
2. It is the escalation of conflict not the resolution of it. So the core problem is not resolved you just add another element to how you want to resolve it. In an extreme way which is not a good thing.
Honestly I don't think ITV writers or PH ever think this deeply about what they are showing on screen and that's just sad for us the viewers
