Even with Anupamaa they wont axe it cause it ruled the number one spot for years, they will let it run until the actors give up one by one…they will keep showing regressive rubbish for as long as they can….
The thing is they cannot afford to keep paying the lead actors so much. They are paid many times what other show actors are, RG alone gets over 3 lakh per episode, SP and GK get over 1.5 lakh per episode, all other characters get around 40k per episode. This brings per year cost of actors alone to over 35 to 40 crores which is more than many mid budget Bollywood movies. Now add cost of production, shooting, all the support staff, locations, special effects, etc.
Meanwhile Ghum main actors cost around 1/4th of RG and side actors way less, Imlie main actors cost 1/10 of RG. Both these shows are above Anupama in ratings.
It's difficult to sustain the show at these cost with such low ratings.
