Maaya will never be Anupamaa

Maaya got strong headed and eloped with the guy she loved to a different city, while Anupamaa couldn't even meet her own mother in the adjacent lane without Bhagwan Baa's permission so she is still in everyone's good books and Maaya is not.

Maaya's stupid decisions include getting trapped in pro*titution like an inanimate object by blindly trusting her husband while Anupamaa's wise decisions include being trapped into bearing 3 kids, staying uneducated, being a vaccum cleaner cum mixer grinder cum food processor cum massage chair by blindly trusting her husband. Oh oh and who can forget her sale of her jewellery for Tiffany's ring for her beautiphool, and signing of loan papers without reading because the loan fraudsters were the first people to properly praise her. The loan was cleared by a man attracted to her so her slate of stupid decisions is now wiped clean unlike Maaya.

Maaya tried to escape as soon as she got trapped and got success after 7 years of ardous torture. Anupamaa enjoyed her entrapment for 26 years and then immediately filed for divorce just when things were getting better because she realized her husband didn't love her anymore. 7 years vs one month so obviously Anupamaa wins

Maaya was disowned by everyone when she returned because she was of no use to her family. Anupamaa was retained and accepted for her "services" and still has phemily so she wins here as well.

Maaya found mentors to guide her and she started her business which she is still dedicatedly running. Anupamaa started a dance academy which she left to her son, then started a restaurant construction promising jobs to housewives which she put on hold for love by making the investor of the company leave with her, then married the said investor who handed over all his assets to her but continued to be her manager. Overall value of assets on Anupamaa's name >>> value of assets on Maaya's name so Anupamaa wins here too.

Maaya kept her daughter away from her for her own safety while preparing to reunite with her. Anupamaa guilt tripped her kids to coming back to her when they moved to a penthouse, got an opportunity to relocate abroad and eloped respectively, so she hardly had to stay seperated from them. Maaya's seperation from her daughter >>> Anupamaa's seperation from her children so Anupamaa is the winner here as well.

Maaya's 7 year old child is not dependent on her and can manage herself. Anupamaa's kids ranging from 18-25 years of age still need her. In terms of irreplaceablity, Anupamaa wins again.

Kanta is right, Maaya cannot be Anupamaa. She should be proud of herself for raising an amazing daughter.

Well Kanta said this one too na. That blame God if you want, might be His fault, but not AnupaMAA’s. 🤣 Sometimes I wonder if the writers are trolling. Too bad being an athiest of course I’d have to hold this mortal body of God as responsible for everything. 😈

@ Niharika - Amazing points. On a side note, Maaya should be thanking her stars that she aint AnupaMAA. She has managed and has been managing her life pretty well once she escaped the hell. It was a jerk she faced when she had that accident and CA was sent to foster parents 😒. Otherwise she’s been done good. 😊

If I remember right, "not being Anupama" as a dialogue has been used in the show in the past too, and not always in a positive sense.

If I had to choice who my two daughters had to look up to a middle age woman who still hasn’t figured out life, accept others to hold her hand or a woman who was abused used in sex trade.
Got out, managed to get her degree, build a business with support and now is capable of taking care of herself, isn’t asking anyone to hold her just to be loved, I would pick Maya for my daughters to look up too.
