They are giving a very wrong message. There is nothing if Pakhi wants to go to USA. There is nothing wrong if she doesn’t know what she is going to do there but she still wants to go. People wants to go to places and if they are able to, they should. When I came to US, I came with the same thing. I just wanted to come to US just because all my friends wanted to come. It was a craze and its still a craze among youngsters. Mind you, coming to US thinking people just have fun here and are spoiled, hell NO. Its even harder that what they show over there. You have to pay bills so you have to work. People learn so many things here and they change for better. After 15 years in US, I have now family here and settled and working good job. It all started with a craze, to go with friends but all my friends are now settled.

I am sure all my US people who came as student would agree on how hard it is to study, work and live here. Dont show this BS to people over there who wants to come here and learn something.

I so glad my family never asked me this stupid question on what your goal is. Hell, I don’t know what my goal is. No one knows what their goal is. You just learn by experience. It doesn’t matter, if that is US or any other place in India. If you want to go out and learn something and be something, there is nothing wrong. Life is all about taking risks.

This is so stupid.

Agree with u at some point but in a middle class family, goals is most important for further studies, even Anu is denying Pakhi out of experience because she knows her also she never says that Pakhi should not go to US she agree for this but after some time.

After they keep preaching about the financial troubles they face, can they even afford to send Pakhi to send overseas? If they are taking a loan, then they are financially screwed.

Hello,

I thought she is sweet 16 y.o. as per Anupama saying in conversation with Pakhi ...

And there are guidelines for such minor age to go to USA alone at 16.

There are laws around needing the consent of your parents or carers if you're under 16 - both parents have to agree for you to go and live abroad, for example. It can be counted as child abduction if this happens and can be reported to the police even if someone is threatening to do it.

The TSA does not require minors under the age of 18 to show ID when traveling with an adult companion within the United States, but some airlines do. ...TSA recommend a signed and notarized consent letter from the child's parent or parents, such as our Child Travel Consent Form.

Children under the age of 16 traveling between the U.S. and Canada without both of their parents or a legal guardian are considered "unaccompanied minors" and require special permissions at the borders of both countries to prevent abductions and runaways. ... When entering Canada, "children" are defined as 17 and younger.

Wow, thanks for the info that I already know. Well Anu mentioned about colleges in her conversation with Pakhi. When you say college, it means after 12th. Mostly kids completing 12th, are almost 18 or above 18 years. So yes, you are then an adult and you can come to USA without any restrictions.

Then this topic shouldn’t have been discussed at all. Their message and age doesn’t make sense. Why discourage other people to go outside for studies. Thsi topic and message at this moment doesn’t make sense. Why can’t these makers fix the issues that they have already started first.

Just vented out my frustration in another thread on this. I will just copy paste from there-

About studying abroad...well i better not say anything because I am one from those jai jai bharat brigade and i really dont want to open my morcha heresmiley36

But i understand your point of view that once pushed in the pool there is no way out except to learn swim. It makes you responsible and its true also but I would like to argue that every parent knows about the weakness and capabilities of their child. And about pakhi...not only anu but we also know how she is. She is top grade lazy, privileged, foolish. She is type of girl who, if pushed into the pool, will not swim but will go on and jump on another person for help and drowning him with her. And anu knows how she is thats why she is against sending her.

She literally brought up like papa ki pari, turning into little vemonraj herself. She is not the one who is focused for her life goals but she is the one enjoys attention and will do everything to get more of it. Right now she is mesmerized from mukku and wants to travel world like her but she doesn't know what actually she is signing up for and there will no mamma papa to solve her problems in abroad.

Like you said its not like what they show in movies that studying abroad is always fun. In reality its very difficult. You have to work to earn and manage expenses and take focus on study too. Its a diuble responsibility but whatever character development they have shown for pakhi, does she seems to you the one who can manage stress?

Phew!!! Bahut ho gayi re pakhi murdabad expresssmiley37but she is really annoying to the core.smiley7 toshu ne ise bola tha ki apna goal, research karke rakh, exam de, scholarship lekar aa tab teri sincerity dikhegi aur koi mana nahi kar payega par nahi madam ne kuch bhi nahi kiya. Isi se pata chalta hai ki kitni sincere hai. Agar ise bhej bhi denge US to wapas deport hokar aa jayegi do hi din meinsmiley37

okayyyyy but why are we looking for Anupamaa to send out the "right" message? I get entertainment out of it, not education. Is it cuz of how many people watch it ?

I agree with you. My only issue is that we as a youngsters atleast try to understand from all aspects. This show is watched by many. There are people with their old mentality and there are people who learn from the show. This is basically trying to brainwash them or make them more stronger in their regressive thinking which will straight affect their kids who want move and grow.
