TRP is not because of maan single-handedly

Anupama garnered good trp even prior the dispensabe entry of Kapadia . The particular initial set of audience connected on the whole exhibited idea of ‘woman making a place’ which sounded different and appealing , Especially housewives sympathized with anupama… It had 4 something trp.

Then the love track was initiated, which attracted another set of audience inevitably increasing trp. Likewise if they include cartoons in the show , kids might start watching it leading to a trp of 7-8.... Not a big deal.

Regarding the fact that in a week which had more maan and less of shah drama , the show still managed to score good trp , It’s just that the particular audience which connected and sympathized with bechari Anupama isn’t able to stop viewing the show because of dopamine.

The fact is that if we remove the whole ‘women empowerment’ concept , this serial and so called maan would be stuck at 1-2 trp or even less.

I agree to the part that 'women empowerment' is the gist of this show. It was a fresh concept presented with realism. That's how people could connect.

There's a but..

But why is it hard to accept that 'MaAn' and Anuj is the part of same 'women empowerment' we had been vouching for so long. Why is it hard to accept that a progressive women on a path of her self empowerment (taking along her kinds) can also stumble upon love and a life partner she always deserved? Why oh why?

Thinking about herself/her life/her happinesses is the kind of self care we always wanted from a woman like Anupama to embrace, who had been forced to hide her feelings and shove it down her throat all these past years.

I agree that TRP changes won't show in a week, it's a long term game. People don't just stop watching the show overnight. And similarly, people won't start watching new stuff overnight for the TRP to leap to 7/8. Large throes of people only participate when it's a huge event - and often for a short period (Example: Cricket Matches and esp Finals/when India plays Pakistan)

Anyway TRP monitors around 50000 households in India, which seems barely a representation of the country tbh. Lots of shows have great online audiences but extremely low TRPs. If Anupamaa had aired on a channel like Sony it would have shut down long ago.
