This thought was going around my mind from yest so posting it here. It isn’t character analysis, it’s about us audience- Why are our reactions like this? Would it have been different if story had been told differently?
Whitewash of V- I am trying to understand why we all are so resistant to it and making every effort of makers to do that as futile🤔
I think it’s all makers fault. The 1st episode totally reminds me of the visual where villagers had tied bleating goat to lure the prowling tiger. Villagers are makers , goat is Anu and tiger is TRP audience, yes not V.
When they had launched the show, their quest was to attract audience and get attached to Anu. for that they had shown Anu as delicate flower and V as tyrant who crushed her under his feet with no remorse. So as they say first impression is last. Ppl loved Anu and hated V. They continued making this plant called “Hating V” grow into more strong, deep rooted tree with his narcissistic, chauvinistic and flip-flop nature.
Now when this is a full fledged tree, makers are overnight trying to fertilize it and make it bloom. It sure not gonna work.
I remember seeing the scene where A and V were going on a bike ride.
So on contrary to what they had shown in 1st episode, had they opened the show with this scene, will our reactions be still same? If they had shown them as a couple who grew apart and then he cheated and then turned egoistic or whatever he is now. Will we still be strongly opposing this whitewash ?
I don’t know how many of you would be interested in this topic but I wanted to add fodder to our thoughts from a different direction. I wanted to discuss US, the audience not characters and story so posting it. There are many more things I wanted to add but that’s all for now.
Tagging few-
