Leela aur Paritosh ne kya palti maari hai wah wah. All it took was for Anupamaa to not succumb to their bullshit just this one time for them to go from barely tolerating Kavya one night to 'thank you bahu' and 'thanks Kavya' the next morning. So childish. đ¤Ł
They'd rather embrace the woman who has done nothing but disrespect them and make their life hell than swallow their pride and support the woman who has selflessly served them for 26 years. Turns out Paritosh has been the real loser all along. Just like his father, he can't stand that his masale ke badhboo waali maa made it on her own and his 'educated' ass hasn't been able to achieve anything on his own merit. And Leela's a snake. At least she's finally shed her motherly pretense for Anupamaa and shown her true colours.
Even after all that, seeing Anupamaa rush to serve them made me facepalm. And the sarcasm that followed from the devil and his army of demons was cherry on top of the cake . Leela and Paritosh could push Anupamaa down a cliff but she'll still serve them with a smile. In the last two episodes I felt so proud of the way Anupamaa took a stand for herself. She said the right things and asked all the right questions. Her fearlessness was admirable. But then she goes back to square one when it comes to Babadook and Paritosh (we need to come up with an insulting term for him too đ). I know old habits die hard but good Lord when will that woman stop being a people's pleaser? Why did she have to list out all the stuff she did that morning? And that lecture on sarees? Why are all these justifications necessary? Can't she just ignore them and go about her day? Communicate with Baapuji, Samar and Kinjal and let those dogs bark. Why talk to them at all? Anupamaa constantly contradicts herself. She'll say she isn't answerable to anybody and then go about responding to everyone's taunts. She'll say that pyaar karna garv ki baat hai and then say stuff like love isn't for her because now she is a mother, daughter and mother-in-law. I am SO sick of that dialogue. Does she hear herself sometimes? Devika was right when she said that Anu is as equally regressive as she is progressive. This is why it is crucial for her to leave that house. She'll never think straight with those losers hovering over her 24/7. Sahi mein, Baapuji ne saara satyanash kar diya Anupamaa ko uss ghar mein rakh ke. đ¤
