I was reading a suspense novel the other day, and it was an extremely crappy story otherwise, but had an interesting(though morbidly vapid and confusing) quote about the Self and Shadow. I think it can be used to explain Anamika and her relationship with her shadow Chandralekha.
It is as goes (modified a little to suit Anamika):
"We are the same as our shadows. When she (Chandralekha) looked out of the void she asked me (Anamika) to be her reflection. Then she put the light out and asked for her music to come into the place of the dead.I bring her young boys and she brings me the music of love. You see how beautifully we get along?"
