If it was national flag then "Congress party" flag with "Haath" can also be termed as national flag.. Other thing, In India one can not use national flag as some conutries use their flags... There is lot of restriction in India to use national flag at public places... That may be the reason Star TV did not keep "Chakra" to make it look like national flag but not a national flag in reality.

Read the ruling of court, it will clear the doubt.

So we take it Voi people decided that best we use a general flag for republic day and not the national flag. Great thoughts. No problem.

Now the question arises - Why only such chakraless flag during Sukhwinder's show and not later on? Why were the flags used later by the audience had chakra? But he biggest question. Why did VOI used the national flag then for the 15th August function?

Please lets not get biased. The show was celebrating Republic day. We all know why the flag was used. Itne bewakoof nahi hai junta. Just for the sake of debate anyone can say anything.

Or do we take now that Gajji was promoting Congress Party in show now 😆 Then koi bharosa nahi hai uska. He can do even that if Congress party tomorrow say we will campaign for your show so that you make profit.😉

On a Republic Day, the theme is Republic Day Spl, the songs are patriotic and the flags are not National Flags....Now is that a mark of respect or a mockery of a National Day celebration ?

The flag flying there was definitely not a National Flag, because it lacked the chakra. and this thread was to highlight this blooper.

Just for your information ,according to Flag Code of India, 2002, effective from January 26, 2002 PART I GENERAL, section1.1 clearly states that " The National Flag shall be a tri-colour panel made up of three rectangular panels or sub-panels of equal widths. The colour of the top panel shall be India saffron (Kesari) and that of the bottom panel shall be India green. The middle panel shall be white, bearing at its centre the design of Ashoka Chakra in navy blue colour with 24 equally spaced spokes. The Ashoka Chakra shall preferably be screen printed or otherwise printed or stenciled or suitably embroidered and shall be completely visible on both sides of the Flag in the centre of the white panel."

As per Part 1,Section 3 subcategory

• THE PREVENTION OF INSULTS TO NATIONAL HONOUR ACT, 1971
  (Amended by the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Act, 2003)

Whoever in any public place or in any other place within public view burns, mutilates, defaces, defiles, disfigures, destroys, tramples upon or otherwise shows disrespect to or brings into contempt (whether by words, either spoken or written, or by acts) the Indian National Flag……….

A flag without the Chakra surely falls under this category now doesn't it?

We all are smart enough to understand the intention of using a Tri color on that day ... so not calling it a National Fag really does not change the actual facts now does it?😆

Then why did he use the National Flag among the audience. And that had the chakra too. Let me also inform those were the flags that are available in the market readily on such days. They are perfect because those are made through Computer Graphics print outs. Market gets flooded with them and most of the functions on that day uses them.

Show producers provide everything that the audience carries be it these flags or other placards. Why then this double stand? Why not the same logic in the later stage too?

We know why he was using the flag. To see that the national feeling gets generated. But they should have made sure they use proper flags. It was 100% a fault on the part of not just the producers but also the Channel House.
