She has often expressed her views that she's not in favour of biased SMS voting by the public, but had agreed to be a part of the event only because she strongly believed that the show upheld the traditions of true music.

I can bet my last loonie that Lata ji would not have made that statement.Come on the show has been compromised so much in every possible way that even the actual objective of the show is lost.Even now the two finalists are getting beaten up black and blue by the mentors. The two home ground shows were nothing but publicity campaigns where we saw so little of their performance and more on what will happen in finals or those stupid polls on who is being supported by who...and all that crappy non stop talking by anyone who got a chance to talk...

Lata ji...will never make a comment like this- its a publicity stunt to garner TRP for the finals.Its very sad that she is now being used this way...forget everything else, the way her name was used...first Shaan kept saying she will choose the winner and now it has boiled down to she will present the trophy....

Same way I feel here there is a big mismatch here...we should get to hear from Lata ji what her actual comment was and in what context !

i am dead sure she has not said this; in fact, if i am not mistaken, she has stated in some interviews that she is not in favour of these reality shows at all, forget sms voting based judgement or otherwise.

but i found the below comment even funnier -

He adds, "I even suggested to her that I would scrap SMS voting if she agreed to pick the winner. She thought for a minute, then smiled and said that she was so fond of both the singers that she couldn't make a choice between them."

what a way to justify complete SMS voting for the finals after stating 'n' times that Lataji will have 50% say in choosing the winner 🤪
