Thoughts on Sept 8/week. Who stood out? - Page 3

Just finished watching the video and here are my views:

thought Harshit was excellent.....absolutely a dream voice to listen to...

next I liked Aabhaas and also Abhilasha. May be Aabhas a tad better than abhilasha but both sang the song pretty well.

Ishmeet's voice is very melodious and eventhough he may not be able to carry of any strong "harkatein", his voice is very soothing and melodious.

Irfaan's choice was pretty much not suited for him. Like someone mentioned earlier in this thread, even I was wondering why Abijeet wants to work on him after the show rather than before which would have saved him from any negative comments and hence more votes!

Sumitra's song is from the movie Sadma (I think a Kamalhassan and Sridevi starrer). She brings in a lot of oomph to a song but cannot really carry out more classical ones....thats what I think.
Mirandes performance was I think the worst. Though she showed a lot of promise in the beginning, she has been going down steadily after that.

Harshit didn't create a medley - he did it just like the original, which is an on-stage singing contest between Rishi Kapoor and Tariq in the movie "Hum Kisise Kum Naihn".

Isha didn't want to take any attention from the contestants by coming on stage. I think thats why she was hesitant to dance on stage when the contestants requested her to. I don't know if anyone felt the same. I'm also glad they didn't sing Isha Koppikar songs. Many of her popular songs like khallas have already been sung in past episodes.

Wonder what the future themes will be? It seems like all the shows are having similar themes so my guess would be a Qawwali round? Favorite actor/actress song?

I would like to see a group round... We had something like that towards the end of C2005 too... It is the best way to judge the contestants in comparison and see whose voice is suited for playback... Stand alone performances dont show that, its only when u hear in comparison with others do u see how the voice would sound on screen... I was watching this week's episode, the starting group performance of Aaj Ki Raat, for me it exposes some over hyped contestants - when u hear them in a group, you clearly see how the voice falls flat... At the same time, some others were just superb in it and further justify their claim on voi...
