Who should have been out ???

Yesterday's program was really a heartbreaking one, as I am also a great fan of Toshi. But the question is who should have been out ? All these singers are top conteners, whom you can eliminate ? Toshi is great, Sumitra does not go out of sur (as adesh and Lalit told), Abbas is a wonder kid, Mirande, Ismeet, Irfan all are giving rocking performances week after week, Abhilasa and Harshit are almost ready voices for playback singing (this is my opinion, others may object to this), Priyani is performing nicely, moreover she is good-looking, has lots of stage presence, so who should be out ? It is good luck or bad luck that so many good singers are coming to the same stage ? Someone has a good performance one day, the other person is a bit off sur the other day. Whereas Priyani, Abbas, Irfan, Toshi all have the experience of performing in front of big crowds or in presence of big judges, little Abhilasa probably was nervous on some occasions.

What will happen to the format of the show ? Lalit and adesh objected so furiously to giving a second chance for singing to Abhilasa on the Mahesh Bhat episode, citing about the rules and confidence of the other participants, what will happen to the other contestants when Toshi will be brought back again ? There are so many open questions, the role of public voting on the decision of the results are known to everyone, we have seen how good looking, cute, regionalism, boy/girl voting, regionalism makes an impact on the fate of the contestants, after all these will the show organizers will go back to the old format, bringing back judges for decisions ? We heard initially that the Judges will also have an equal share in decision making, what happened to that ? Moreover, if the judges give some wrong decision (as we have seen difference of opinion almost on every occasion), then what will happen ? And most important thing, will the channels allow some reality show to run without the huge amount of sms money they are getting bearing all the expenditures for running these talent hunt shows ?

yeah.... i had said this two weeks back when prantik got out... tht time i said that anyone going out now will be painful as all were good and had dedicated fan base 😊

Toshi's elimination was perhaps more heart-breaking than that of Arhspreets or any of the earlier eliminations... He was a complete singer and sometimes I feel that his mentors had a role to play in his downfall. They were (Aadesh and Lalit) were very critical about the Prithvi teams performance, always making a bad comment against them and praising and promoting their team members, that it might have irked some section of the public and they might have taken it as their agenda to bring down one of their (Agni) better contestants!
I feel strongly about it because three very good contestants of Agni - Toshi, Harshit and Abhaas were on the chopping block yesterday whereas their relatively weak singer - Sumita (who I think excels only in 1 genre of singing and doesn't have ny classical training) got away becoming the highest vote-getter!

Like Kunal said, its better to leave judgement to learned judges (and I don't mean Aadesh/Lalit etc) but someone more neutral and not go by public voting as the public are too emotional and too subjective and true talent will never make it big, if his/her fate is to be decided by the public!

How I wish this would happen once and we will get to see the difference of results that will bring... Will it actually happen? Seems a far fetched dream!

It is high time that we recognize these singing shows as any other soap drama that are running these days on TV channels and the singers, judges even the public as the actors involved in the play.

The commercial considerations outweigh any wishful thinking of expectations of a rich high quality musical extravaganza.

What irks me the most is the hollow promises of a playback career in hindi film industry doled out at the drop of a hat by the judges on these shows playing with the emotions of these young kids, promising the moon just to bring them down with a thud. Look what has happened to Rooprekha, winner of FG(she is undergoing counselling sessions for lack or work which might have caused her depression).

There are already lot of established singers & many more waiting in the wings including previous winners, finalists of earlier competitions, so where is the space for these newcomers. It is best for them to concentrate on winning the competition as of now and not harbour any serious expectations leading to painful disappointments later.

************ feel bad that Sumitra took a wrong decision in sacrificing her well paying software job to be part of a ruthless film music industry through ASVOI which is just using the singers as pawns for its own commercial interest. They haven't even announced any prize money so far.

anyone BUT toshi. toshi was by far the best singer in the competition, and the title of star voice of india belonged to him.

sharib was robbed earlier, and now toshi too. the sabri brothers are pretty much two of the best singers i've seen in all of the singing shows ever - and i've watched saregamapa challenge 05, ek main aur ek tu, saregamapa challenge 07, indian idol 2 and 3, and star voice of india.

obviously, this is total stupidity and it's ridiculous that toshi is out. i'm not watching star voice of india anymore, as there is no one left to watch for. if high calibre singers such as toshi are out of star voice of india, then what is left in the show?
