Hi Everyone...
A special occassion and a special episode... The show has just begun and I am updating for it tonite... This is a must watch for everyone - a tremendous effort by the voi team 👏👏 The presentation of the show was terrific and a great way to truly celebrate the Independence Day👏
The show starts with the boys singing "Maa Tujhe Salaam"... They are joined by Shaan and then the girls... A nice start to the Independence Day episode 😊 Must say - Shaan became too involved with the song towards the end 😆 The contestants are wearing tricolored outfits - special mention to Abhilasha - who designed her look😕😆 Shaan says a few words for the occassion... He says 60 years back, the same date and same time the whole Nation was awake... The "Ghulam" India would become "Azaad" India when the clock struck 12... Today, let us again relive those moments and celebrate 60 years of our Independnce... Then follows a surprise - he introduces his co-host for the evening - Juhi Parmar... She too speaks about the Independence and the freedom fighters after which the show begins...
The hosts keep giving the viewers little trivia about the freedom fighters and the struggle...
The first contestant to sing is Abhaas and the hosts mention Chandra Shekhar Azad as he also was from Madhya Paradesh... Abhaas sings Kar Chale Hum Fida... After the song, he says that we have in the audience some families who had lost their dear ones in the wars... He goes to them and speaks to a lady who had lost her husband in the 1971 war... He was in the INS and she says her sons were very small at that time, but she never lost strength and brought up her kids, gave them education and today they are both serving in the Indian Navy👏👏 Abhaas asks her was she not hesitant to have her children in the Navy when she had lost her husband - she says she is happy her sons are in the Navy and serving the country😊
Next to come on stage is Roop Kumar Rathod and is joined by Ishmit in singing Sandese Aate Hain😊 Ishmit sounded really good in this song... The audience is shown where a few people have tears in their eyes... At the end Roop Kumar Rathod says he was happy to perform the song with Ishmit... He says he never felt thathe was singing with a new singer... He also shows regards to Ishmit's mom and says that you have done a wonderful job by bringing Ishmit till here with your upbringing and atmosphere at home which would have been very musical...
Now comes Harshit with Mera Rang De Basanti Chola... A great performance 👏👏 He is wearing a dhoti😆 But gels well with the theme and he is really good with the song...
After Harshit's solo performance, now we again have Roop Kumar Rathod with Prantik singing Zindagi Maut Na Ban Jaaye... Before the song, a clip is shown of Prantik where he says that in the Kargil war he had lost Rahul Bhaiya who was very close to him and he is dedicating this song to him... Great song, they sing well together and lights up the atmosphere... After the performance Prantik says he was so happy and couldnt believe that he sang with Roop Kumar Rathod... RKR in turn praises Prantik and says he is really happy to see such talent and these yougsters have it in them to be voi if they continue this hardwork and commitment...
Now the power packed lively performance by Mirande and Sumitra on the song Rageela Maro Dholna... Mirande's voice just amazes me everytime 😛 Sumitra too was great and together they were terrific👏👏
A much awaited guest was to follow next - Hariharan who along with Ishmit, Prantik, Toshi and Irfan sings Chappa Chappa Charka Chale...
A soulful rendition of Ae Mere Pyaare Watan by Sunidhi Cahuhan was to follow next...
Now comes Harpreet, Harshit, Abhaas and Prantik with Suno Gaur Se Duniya Waalon... Shaan joins them, and the countdown begins as the clock strikes 12 and they wish a Happy Independence Day...😊 All contestants join them and they sing Mere Desh Ki Dharti...👏
Thodi Si Dhool Meri is performed by Toshi and Irfan...
This is followed by a performance by Shaan, Priyani, Sumitra and Abhilaasha on Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani...
In between, an AV was shown where small children and adults were speaking of what Freedom means to them... It was nice to hear the views - specially of children😛 Some say - eating chocolates without and restrictions😆 Some say having school just once a week while some wanting equality for everyone - with no distinction between rich and the poor... Some soldiers too shown who wish to work towards the dreams of those who gave their lives for the nation...
Arshpreet and Prantika render Yeh Duniya Ek Dulhan... Both sound great and somehow you feel sorry for Prantika being eliminated... She was really good in the song...
Shaan speaks of how the nation got divided but music still remains the same... He says there is one person who is loved and heard equally both in Indian and across the border... He is talking about Alka Yagnik who sings Panchi Nadiya Pawan Ke Jhonke...
Ok, the performance I had been waiting for is here at last... Its Abhilaasha and Priyani performing on Bhumro 😛 Both do well and the best part in it were the kids who were dancing on stage and looked to be having complete fun...😊 In between you had Harshit and i think Abhaas on stage - don know what for😕 They didnt sing neither did he dance - just went away after sometime😕😆
The show closes with a performance by Hariharan on Bharat Humko... All contestants are also on stage and join him...
