Alka Yagnik is back as judge in the Star reality show, Voice Of India. The singer had barely returned to Mumbai last week after over a month's break in the US, and she began receiving apologies and feelers to be part of the show once more.

As reported 'Woe begone' (HiTLIST, June 26) Alka quit the music show due to certain comments made by fellow judge and composer Aadesh Srivastava. She had then decided to take off on a business-cum-pleasure trip to America.

U-turn

Brushing this aside as part of a gimmick, Alka says, "Ever since I returned to Mumbai, I have been receiving apologies from the people concerned. But what made me come back was the genuine concern of the contestants," says Alka, who began shooting on Tuesday.

The issues the singer had was not just limited to differences between her and Aadesh when he praised yesteryear singers for their melodious voice. Alka then stated that it was the composer's skill that created melody.

There were rumours that Alka had objected to Sunidhi Chauhan coming on Voice of India for a particular episode, and then her differences with co-judge Abhijeet over a contestant.

All's well

"I am just turning a blind eye to all this now. I am here for the contestants. When you are uncomfortable with certain people, it's best just to ignore them," says Alka.

Producer Gajendra Singh adds, "Alkaji had made her point of view clear to me. I had a frank word with Aadesh. He messaged Alkaji an apology. Alkaji's mother was also deeply hurt. In fact, we've all gone and apologised and all's well now."

Alka needed to return... All by himself Abhijeet wud have ruined the Prithvi team's chances - he gets over excited very soon... Alka wud balance it out...
