Did anyone notice?

Hi guys,

When i was watching Sumitra sing on Saturday's episode, I paid close attention to her song. I knew she couldn't sing as well as she sounded. So I had to pay extra attention. And I noticed that she wasn't singing the song live! I'm not sure if I'm completely 100 % right on this, but I am at least 90% sure. She had already recorded the song, "Duniya Mein". The She was just lip-syncing... I was so disgusted of ASVOI when I found this out! I request all of you to watch the episode again and confirm if I am right or wrong😕. I am very sure I am right on this however. I wonder why the show did this...

Hahaha. Arrey nahin Sudhaji. I am in india right now for my holidays. I watched the episode in india only!

Even if she was lip-synching, it wud have been common for all contestants... I see no reason why they wud allow Sumitra to do so and not others...

Exactly my thoughts, smallwonderji. None of the other contestants were lip-synching, but Sumitra was...

maybe it was not noticable in others...

I agree with you Venky.. Even, I had this string feeling that Sumitra's performance (sorry singing) was not live... It seemed to be lip-synced!

If you notice, all the shots taken were long shots (very few close-ups) for her... then, she seemed completely relaxed and bindaas while performing.. and nowhere, her singing seemed to get strained with her performance... and most importantly... she seemed to hold the mike very very close to her mouth throughout the song, and yet her breathing was not audible!

This was not the case with any other singer...

Very fishy, I must say...

wah what a post Jayaji. Clean, detailed, upto the point. I agree with you about the breathing thing. Also, when a singer sings with with a mic, the volume of the singer's voice goes up and down due to the movement of the mic. This was not happening with Sumitra, even though she was moving her mic a lot. Also, if you listen to that breathing piece that comes right after the words, "Duniya mein". It's impossible to sing that piece so perfectly while singing like. It's hard to explain how this single piece proved that Sumitra was lip-syncing, but it really did.

i felt it was scripted bcos of her 'performance' and attitude ... she was just too cool and jumping a bit too much ... didnt look closely at the screen or anything ... but i recollect jatin's comment on how she sang even RDs parts and now that venky has pointed it out i feel that part didnt sound like her at all ...

Well, I do beg to disagree.

It would be a remote possibility that this would happen.

1) I don't think that other contestants would even allow for this. It would be out in the papers in seconds. believe me, there are more khabris inside there than there are spectators.... 😆 We are actually alleging a show and it's organisers of cheating, I don't think it's fair if we did that to anyone, unless we have some solid proof.

2) Alka would not have agreed.

We can go on making many allegations....but the truth is, there are somethings which can be scripted, there are others where even the channel and the producers have to draw a line. And no contestant, not even a one like Sumitra, is worth the risk.

Comeone folks, lets give her a break. She might not be the best, but she does deserve to be in the final line up.

I agree with Minnie here. It is to no one's gain to allow Sumithra to lip sync. I am sure it was the case with Adesh Srivastava. But that was different and he is not a contestant.

As far as the quality of singing goes, she is nowhere near Abhilasha in terms of voice quality. However she has good talent in singing Usha Utthap or similar kind of songs. Plus she is one of the hardest working gal.

However if I have to choose just one, it would be Abhilasha.
