A-ha! I had no idea that Priyani was in Challenge 2005. I must confess that I initially found the format for that show confusing and (perhaps because of that) not compelling. It never felt like it was worth the late night stretch. But this explains the strong loyalty to Priyani and the staunch support she is receiving now (in this Forum).

Frankly, I dont even remember Priyani from her C05 days.. perhaps she got eliminated too early, and had not left a mark till that time..... I have started following her from VOI only, and her best performance till now (for me) has been 'Tumhaari adaaon pe' from the Indore episode.....

Thanks to VOI, I really think the Saturday episodes are very good, as you get to hear such lovely songs on that day... and good credit to the talented contestants that put in great efforts to do the songs well... Very impressed with Abhaas, Arshpreet and Mirande on their Saturday performance... Irfan was so good on Friday that a weaker Saturday performance was acceptable too...

Waiting eagerly for Group D now! it will again be tough as some talented folks will leave again... Some of the contestants eliminated, and to be eliminated (in the next week) are as talented as the ones selected for the finals... Some of them indeed need to come back.. I hope they do!

I liked Abhas and Ashpreet...Irfan and Mirande were ok. I agree with Alka Yagnik regarding Priyani...Ravi and Shriram deserved to go out.

Khatoooba, I think is a very tough song.. dont remember anyone attempting that in a contest.. and she showed that you can sing an Arabic touch song perfectly maintaining the sur and the zing at the same time... I personally am realising that she seems to have a better grip than Sumitra on her basics, as the genre of singing is similar for both the girls...

Twinkle attempted same in Challenge 2005

Oh - I dont even remember Twinkle's performance😕 I think it was one of those easily forgettable ones 😆 I found Mirande very good in the song... She never went wrong in singing Khatooba anytime... with all the sur perfect 👍🏼

i remember twinkle sing the song..she got poor marks..

jatin commented 'beta tumne ek bhi bar" khatooba" theek nahin gaya..'

the most amazing thing about last week was that, though the basic rule of the show was broken and 5 singers were taken instead, there hasn't been a single complaint from any one.infact people were so relieved and enthusiastic(even in strarvoi.com or other forums).

criticisms, mistakes, scores etc aside...these singers touched a chord among the listeners-and that is the underlying truth!

What I feel is that Shreeram blew it himself.
He had the best voice quality amoung all the probables.(leave the girls :-) )
As he is from south, he couldn't just compete with other fluent hindi speaking contestants. He can sing well. He has a bright future only if he is willing to work hard.

Very well said Ankita 👏 Selecting 5 from the last group was the best decision the channel took.. such was the power of each of those 5 contestants, that had anyone been left behind, it would be a loss... The contestants have surely made a niche place in the hearts of millions 👏

here's my analysis ... a bit late ...

abhaas was the best!! he sang both songs very well!!
priyani was ok on both days ... she sounded harsh in the antara of 'kabhi neem neem' and lost both sur and taal in 'beeti na' ... i too feel her best performance was 'tumhari adaon pe' ... in any case she has come a long way from her c2005 days
arshpreet was a revelation!! it was the first time that i heard her and she was excellent !
mirande was good too and yes she does fall in the same category as sumitra and is a tad better
irfan too has improved a lot and was very gud on friday, couldve done better on saturday
shreeram has a great voice but he has actually sung for telegu films so is already a professional singer ... am surprised he cudnt do better
ravi had a sincerity that i havent seen in anyone else ... i felt for him even though he didnt deserve a place in the finals
and neeta was plain bad ...

talking of a wild card episode ... we have had 3 grps performing so far
the highest marks for the 1st grp was 78 to sumitra (overrated) and then 74 to ishmeet and dont remember arvind's score
but in the next grp abhilasha had a whopping 90 followed by 83 for vipul and 82 for prantik
in the 3rd grp we have abhaas with 87 and then priyani with 86 and the rest with 82

do you guys notice the difference in the scores between the first grp and the rest??

in fact i want a wild card round with the winners of grp 1 and all the losers and choose the best 3 again
what do you all say?
