Singer Shaan, wife Radhika and their sons make a picture-perfect home. "Who needs an interior designer when you have such a creative wife," says a house-proud Shaan

BED OF POSES

Singer Shaan is a far cry from a disciplinarian father. His younger son Shubh(2) drags him out of the bed for our photo-op and elder son Soham(5) engages him in a conversation about Spiderman as wife Radhika gets busy arranging the pillows and quilts. The 'white and brown' bedroom is thankfully, devoid of too many curious or soft toys for that matter. Apart from classic wooden furniture, chandeliers, candles and an arm chair dominate the scene. Radhika says, "Our sons are extremely fond of their father. My younger son often tells me, 'Mamma go to gaon' as if I'm some villager."
BAR BAR DEKHO

The singer doesn't believe in displaying liquor bottles. The flute glasses and other drinks are neatly stacked in the adjacent cupboard. The bar stools have been designed by Radhika. "It's a bar with a difference. With kids around, I prefer concealing the drinks," says Radhika.

THE DEN

We move to what Shaan and Radhika fondly refers to as 'The Den'. Bright green walls are dotted with pictures of the couple and their extended family. "These pictures are a prized possession as they actually trace our lives," says Radhika. The room houses a state-of-the-art home theatre system. Like most couples, Shaan and Radhika fight over their daily fix of shows. Adds Shaan, "I usually watch sports on television. I want my children to become a footballer and a cricketer respectively."

LIVING IT UP

We wrap up our day in the living room, which has corner sofas, tall plants, floor lamps and decorative stands. The furniture pieces match with each other and stick to the colour scheme of the living room, which in turn ensures a harmonious look. Shaan says, "I wanted a home, not a 5-star hotel. I didn't even want an interior designer for my house."
