Last week, VOI shocked everybody by declaring two eliminations. This week too shock might be in store for the judges when they learn that public voting would account entirely for elimination and their judging would be of no account. A strange sort of elimination was being planned, sources on the set said.
After last week's brouhaha it was decided that no elimination would take place this week, so what changed? "Earlier both public votes and scores of the judges were given equal weightage, that is 50-50 but now due to a change in format, elimination would be 100% public voting," says Vipul, one of the finalists. "We came to know about this only when we were standing on the stage and Shaan bhaiya announced this. Each of us was given an envelope on which the name of a judge was written. Basically, from now judges will not mark us in our performances, they will train us".
The contestants were to sing on Remixes, which was the theme given to them for Friday's episode.
"Each judge would take care of two of us. Ismailji would be training me and Saptaparna, Vipul and Mallar would be under Sukhwinderji and Ritisha and Mohit would be learning from Montyji," said Ravi, another finalist, adding that elimination by 100% public voting was "quite fair."
The changes might not end there. The coming episodes would see another contestant to these six finalists, it was being rumoured.
Disappointed with this, Ravi says: "We have struggled so much to reach here, it is quite unfair that someone else would compete with us at this point of time".
