Article-Sudesh Berry enters as AD father!

W ith Dhara arrested for the murder of Akshat's moth- er Kamini, the conjoined twins show, AmberDhara, is moving into high drama. In a bid to spice up proceed- ings, Sony's creative team has decided to introduce the girls' long-lost father as the prosecu- tion lawyer who stands against Dhara. Veteran TV and film actor Sudesh Berry will essay the role of Dev Shukla Mona Ambegaonkar's husband. Shades of grey Berry claims that he took up the role because it packs in a lot of punch. "My character is not black. It has shades of grey. Dev abandoned the twins when they were born because he didn't want to be burdened with them. Since then he has become an influential lawyer who's obsessed with his work. He has no qualms about going against his own daughters," informs Berry. He however refuses to say whether his track on the show will later turn positive. "That is up to the producers and channel to decide," he says. Besides AmberDhara, Berry is also doing Left Right Left, in which he plays Brigadier Guar. "There is no comparison between the two shows," he says, adding, "In LRL I'm just one of the many characters, while in AmberDhara, I am the protagonist." Break ke baad Although he has done several shows on TV, Berry has kept away from the small screen for a while now. "I needed the break. I have turned down over 200 seri- als and 40 films. I had been approached for the role of Mihir in Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi," he claims. Berry has acted in several movies but despite good performances he has failed to establish himself in the top league. "After the success of my Vansh, in which I played the lead, I did not have anybody to guide me," he says. "So I became very selective. But maybe the industry thrives on over-exposure. But no regrets. Had I done a few more films all I would have got is an extra fat bank balance," he states.
