Lata, a young married woman, gives birth to a pair of conjoined twin girls. Her husband Dev wants to give up the babies to an orphanage due to their deformity. Lata however decides to bring up her children in her hometown Panchgani with the help of her father Mahendra Pratap. She names the girls Amber and Dhara…the sky and the earth…the eternal twins. Through many struggles, Lata and nana make sure that Amber Dhara get good education. Over time, the small town of Panchgani accepts them as one of their own. The girls grow up to be two beautiful and talented young women – Amber, a gifted singer and Dhara, who writes beautiful thoughts and songs in her diary and plays the guitar to Amber's songs.
