We should be surprised or rather shocked if the MIL supports the DIL. The DIL is always an outsider and the best part is that the MIL forgets that she is also an outsider.

It was like FACE OFF. The mask has been well and truly removed showing his real face. But it takes something to actually have that mask for years on end. I understand that he wanted to grow politically and all that but still... it takes energy, thinking, planning and constantly being on guard to pull off something like this for such a long time.
