Yes, I enjoy love stories with courtship woven into it and like you mentioned Amri as a viewer even I feel short-changed, when they could have so many scenes of them fighting why won't you spend more time on the courtship?
So the only logical answer for me is that its not a real confession, Teja is really not in love, so they intend to make us doubtful of her intentions.As for her mindtalk, I am going to take it as that she feels bad for Prem even if she is not in love with him.
