Mishap on sets of Aisa Desh...

Accidents and acting go hand in hand. This was proved true yet again when Saumya Tandon aka Rusty of Aisa Desh Hai Mera tumbled down the stairs during a shoot recently at Kamalistan Studios. The actress was shooting a scene that required her to run down a flight of stairs. However, she slipped and came crashing down the whole way. Though she didn't suffer any major injury, the actress landed up with an injured back, several bruises and a nagging pain.

Saumya says with a smile, "I got an X-ray taken and luckily there were no injuries. I was having a lot of discomfort and could hardly walk. But I wanted to continue my shoot. I know how valuable time is." The unit was shooting late in the night four days ago when the accident happened. "It was a scene that had me coming face-to-face with Samay (Gaurav Chopra) when it was raining heavily. I was struggling with my dupatta and umbrella at the same time. My dupatta flies off, and Gaurav comes to my rescue and returns my dupatta, after which I had to run away from him, scared, down the stairs. But before I knew what was happening even, I had crashed to the bottom of the stairs," says Saumya, explaining the accident.

A day later, the actress was back at Film City for a taandav sequence which she did efficiently despite the pain. Having learnt Kathak, dancing comes easy to this talented actress. Producer Manish Goswami was full of praise for Saumya. "Despite the injury, she continued shooting and was very sporting about the special dance sequence," he said.

Interestingly, Gaurav's recent entry as Samay in this Sony drama was supposed to have a big impact. Seems like his love interest Saumya already bore the impact of him in their first scene together itself.
