A LIAR

Mr. Kunti says that he wanted to show the positive side of Bihar through 'agle Janam', and other writers have spoiled it.... But Mr, Kunti, your show was always about buying and selling of woman (which happens in almost every rural state, why you choose Bihar, to demean the state or bring reputation to it, I really wonder); by her own parents (due to excessive poverty in Bihar, another downside of state); and behind this is a Thakur Loha Singh (class/caste division); who forces his own son Shekhar (dominant patriarch and a weak son) to sleep with laali to get waaris (want of male child), when Shekhar is already married to Siddheshwari (adultry); Siddheshwari also wants this physical alliance to happen (greed of women, and emotionally corrupt, insensitive towards a helpless downtrodden woman).... The righteous mother Sumitra has less say than even the vicious maid Ganghiya... who wants her dumb daughter jamuni, to become mistress of ranvijay (adultry)... RV is a weak immoral backstabbing character who is selfish to the core to prove his worth, and follows wishes of his father blindly... Just that Laali is a fighter and Shekhar is a good person at heart (but incapable to do anything) doesn't bring Bihar in good light.... I wonder where is positive side of BIHAR in all of this, except these two characters; which happens in most of the soaps, that leads are positives....

Above all you blame writers for all of this; and leave channel executive out of it, when you being a writer yourself, know, that always a soap is written in collaboration of writer, channel and producers... Other writers are livid as per you; but I wonder how diplomatic you are, to not spoil your terms with channels and producers.... You should really apologize to people of Bihar, not because of other writers, but for yourself... I sincerely hope for a better tomorrow for you Sir....

I guess Kamlesh Kunti Singh, who wrote the original concept of AJ, is right to be indignant.

Balance of both good and bad in equal measure is one thing that the writers failed to provide in AJ.

There were larger doses of sadness and very little of happiness, more of wickedness and evilness then of goodness, and so on

The people of Bihar may be rather put out at seeing themselves portrayed like that. Still, they should not take it to heart

What was depicted in the storylines (abject poverty, exploitation of lower classes, exploitation of woman, corruption, revenge, dysfunctional family, domestic violence) happens all over the world.

It is just that the backdrop was Bihar. It could have been anywhere in the world.

@ Neela

Mr Kamlesh Kunti if wanted to show Bihar in good light, he would have developed a concept like 'sasuraal genda phool' or 'yeh rishta' or another light hearted show, at the backdrop of Bihar.... not a dark subject like Agle.... Its like showing muslim community in positive light and basing a subject on terrorism (no offense meant to any community)...... its hypocrisy....

If he had to do "Agle..." as a heart-warming show, showing Bihar in positive light, it should have been that Loha in spite of not having a waaris, doesn't force any woman to bear the waaris, though its a norm in the village... while Ghanghiya would have tried her best to get her daughter jamuni as Shekhar's mistress, but family would have never given in....Loha infact, should have saved Laali from some other atrocious thakur... laali's husband (like ram in ramayan) would have deserted her due to social pressures, due to her abduction by another thakur, doubting her sanctity... and Loha would have given shelter to Laali, entire family treating her nicely, like a member, not an outcast/commodity..... and they would have tried to patch her up with her husband... and shekhar a man who loves his wife Siddheshwari, doesn't get the same love in return... And in that process, a love quadriangle would have formed somehow... with one Ghanghiya as a central negative character; for whom her ticket to richness if through Jamuni (getting her to become mistress to Shekhar).... and we would have had, the story where characters do sacrifices for each other; separated by shallow social norms; bounded by emotions.... with required soapy drama coming from ghanghiya and Jamuni.... It wouldn't have been that dark, but a more relatable, harmonious story about relationships.... with weak and strong characters; characters listening to hearts and others following and believing social norms; but not negative vs positive characters...

The problem was in the SETUP of the show, the basic concept....So Mr Kamlesh Kunti, should not downgrade other writers.... They are doing what he seeded.... He created an army of bad characters around Laali and Shekhar, to present Bihar in good light...
