Ratan's body double trouble

We had earlier reported on how uncomfortable Ratan Rajput was during the shoot of the special episode of Zee TV's Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo that aired on October 2nd.

To those uninitiated, Rajput's character Laali was ordered to be stripped nude by the village Panchayat for getting involved with a married man, Shekhar. And whilst doing so, village folks had to snatch her dupatta and tear her clothes. She also was required to shoot a scene where her bare back was to be shown on television. A rather reluctant Ratan agreed to shoot the scene aesthetically and after understanding that the scene was important to justify the track. As we reported that she wore a tube top, shot for the scene and happily went back home. But what transpired later had taken her by surprise. The production house apparently, shot with Ratan's body double and made her expose a bit too much than it is apt for television. Body double apparently wasn't wearing her undergarment for that 10 second long scene. As expected, Ratan wasn't amused with the development.
Says an agitated Ratan, "It's not me for the hundredth time that I have to tell you guys. Please call up the channel, production house and the director about the shot and question them on having asked my body double to expose that much. I had just exposed my shoulders and I am not answerable to anyone for what transpired after I was done with my shoot. I knew they were going to use my double but wasn't aware of how much would they require her to bare. I can't comment if my double removed or was wearing her bra. It was my face but the body wasn't mine. Have you asked the channel or the production house about showing a bit too much at 7;30 pm slot."
Apparently, Rajput received innumerable calls from her home town who questioned her on exposing so much on television. The lady was helpless and didn't know how to reply.
Did she try to reason out with the production house? "I don't have time to do that", fumed she.
A source from the sets supports Ratan and says, "It is wrong on the production house's part to have asked the body double to expose so much. Ratan is right in being angry. She wasn't aware of the plan and was livid to know the end-result. People close to her must be thinking that its actually her and she is tired of clarifying it to them."
All attempts to reach Siddharth Tewary went futile. The channel must be hoping that the skin show will generate more TRPs.
