Analysing Laali's dilemma: Shekhar or doc
Laali/Shyamli will soon be in a real quandary. Who is she going to choose when it comes to crunch time. Let's find out who is the better catch - Shekhar or Doc.
Shekhar ... Laali's first (and only??) love.❤️
- Shekhar is penny poor, but his father, Loha, is ultra rich
- Was married to Laali for 15 months only
- Shekhar allowed Laali a lot of freedom - not only freedom of movement (so much freedom that often he didn't know where she was!!😆), but also freedom of speech, and supported her, against everyone.
- He respects her, believes in her, trusts her, and listens to her (What more would you want from your husband!!!).
- Besides, he is the father of her child - a symbol of their love.
- He played the flute so beautifully, he entranced Laali.
- He loved her so deeply and desperately, he went mental when he lost her.
- Shekhar's most famous quote: "I love you Laali. There is no upper caste and lower caste in love. Love makes everyone equal."
Shekhar's negatives
- He is unemployed. Hasn't been working for a very long time, even before he went mental. (Lazy bugger!)
- Short tempered - often it's Laali's soothing words and calm reasoning that quiets him down.
The doc (Laali's third husband)
- Loves Laali, has been married to her for almost seven years, but is waiting for her to regain her memory before he claims her as his own. (Stupid man! Why did he marry her if he wanted to keep their relationship platonic? He might as well have waited until she regained her memory.)
- He is very rich.
- Has got a very successful practice going, with income coming in everyday.
- He has given Laali a ready-made family.
- He taught her how to read and write and is now teaching her English.
- Doc's most famous quote: "If you leave me, I will die."
Doc's negatives
- Boring
- Is almost 17 years older than Laali!
- Has a frightful looking mustache!
So Laali - who do you really love?
Laali: "Well, the doc is nice, very kind. I respect him a lot. He has given me a ready-made family and I am starting to love him. (Sigh!) I have to produce an heir for him as well, you know."
What else? "Well, he has taught me to read and write, given me very nice and expensive clothing, jewelry, plenty of combs to disentangle my messy hair and lot of nice shoes as well."
And?: "Oh, he has a very nice mustache! (Laali, giggling, a bit embarrassed) He allows me to tweak it sometimes, you now (he! he! he!)"
Really, oh! Wow! And Shekhar?
Laali: "Who? Oh, Shekhar! Well! He promised me a lot of things, you know, but never gave me anything. I won him a tractor, jumped right into the field and soiled my clothes to get that darn machine, and in the end he hardly used it. Now that damn thing must have rusted to the ground. What a waste of my efforts!!"
But he loves you Laali, he went mental in his love for you.
Laali: "Well somebody should tell him that "true love" never really exists. It is a myth. Tell him to grow out of it! In the end, it is not going to feed me. Besides, I don't need him any more. I have got everything I want right here."
But what about your baby?
Laali: "I have got a ready-made family of my own now. If I worry about that baby, how will I be able to produce one for the doc. Besides, the baby doesn't know me - better off for everyone."
Ok, Laali, whatever, you say. We will convey the message, about true love being a myth to Shekhar.
(In an aside, whispering ... Gosh, poor man, he will be devastated. This time he will jump off the cliff, for sure. Yeah! Yeah! If he is lucky, he will hit his toe and lose his memory ... yah! And maybe get married to some other girl... yeah! Maybe that would be best...)
