In a recently concluded award ceremony, Rakesh Paswan's show Afsar Bitiya won an award for the best show in the social awareness category.
Rakesh Paswan's a very happy man. "When I started my journey with Afsar Bitiya I was very clear about certain facts. Firstly, I always wanted to portray my sister's dedication, struggle and what we all went through to help her become a BDO in Jharkhand. I was part of my sister's journey and when I conceived Afsar Bitiya, I thought of making a show which would create a difference in the hearts of audiences".
In the rat race for TRPs, was Rakesh not scared to go on and do an unconventional show like this? "I was very confident from day one. We are never preachy while narrating the story. We also kept a tab on the commercial value of the show. For a 20-25 minutes airtime everyday one has to constantly look after the other aspects as well." Paswan is happy that through this show, he could bring out his sister's struggle on a national platform. Also, if even one girl gets inspired by the show, Rakesh will be very encouraged.
