Actor Varun Badola dons a new role on prime time television in a reality show, where he indulges in his pet passion: music. Delhi dude Varun tasted small screen success with a Balaji soap Koshish Ek Asha half a decade ago, and is currently juggling two weeklies Aek Chabi Hai Pados Mein and Soni Mahiwal.

Quiz him why he wants to take on a reality show, which promises to be very demanding and Varun admits that besides the exposure, being on a reality show is also financially profitable. He says, Money plays a decisive role because reality shows pay you well. Plus the fact remains that one gets to be his natural self and no playacting is required. Reality shows are fun and most importantly the only source of challenge that I am looking forward to, in today's date. It's a challenge of a different kind when I put my image at stake and work hard to salvage it. But it's not always fun; especially when you may end up losing.

A graduate from Delhi University, Varun worked as an assistant to director Tigmanshu Dhulia, before taking up acting as a career. Varun confesses, The journey so far has been interesting although I tend to get bored of things quickly. The actor believes that acting involves following one's instincts and being observant. Ask him what kind of roles does he find exciting and he gets back with, I like to experiment with interesting roles that differ from the regular characters you see on television.

The affable actor likes to take each day of his life as it comes and doesn't believe in planning anything, including his own wedding.

He rewinds, Rajeshwari and I were friends and we'd never planned to marry each other. It took me 20 days to decide that she was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. And in the next six months' time we got married.
