Girl Next Door
Suhasi Goradia who plays Urmi in Aek Chabhi hai Padoss Mein, chats with Riya V Anandwala
A midst all the saas-bahu drama on television, Aek Chabhi Hai Padoss Mein has carved a niche for itself. Suhasi Goradia who plays one of the lead characters, Urmi, has been appreciated as well. Aek Chabhi.. was recently shifted from the Saturday slot to Sunday and Goradia isn't too happy about this.
"When the audience has accepted a show, any change in its timing will definitely affect viewership," she worries.
On the other hand, she does admit that since people prefer staying home on Sundays, the change in time might work in their favour.
Luck factor Goradia believes she's lucky to have got a break with Star Plus. "I haven't seen Nukkad," she admits, adding, "But I do know that it was a popular show. There are so many shows on its lines. It's very difficult to man age so many stories and still keep the audience gripped but Aek Chabhi.. has succeeded."
She can completely identify with her character Urmi. "Every girl likes to dress up and wants attention from men.. I can relate to Urmi and I'm sure every girl can relate to her as well," she smiles.
As for rumours about her marital status, Goradia maintains that she is very much single.
The actress is all praise for her co-star and love interest in the serial, Varun Badola. She says, "Varun is a very good actor. I'm learning so much from him. The director and Varun share a good rapport, and there are times when Varun says 'Cut' if he feels the shot is not up to the mark. It's good to see someone so concerned." Dance with me Before entering the television industry, Goradia was a dancer by profession and has performed on many occasions. "I have done my arangetram (first public performance) in Bharatanatyam and learnt salsa. I also own a branch of Rahul Saxena's dancing class in Borivili," she explains.
Other shows? "Well, there have been offers from production houses, but I want to focus on one thing at a time. Balaji had offered me a show, but I refused because I can't work 24x7," explains the actress. "I need my space and time to do advertisements," signs off Goradia.
Aek Chabhi Hai Padoss Mein airs every Sunday on Star Plus at 10 pm with a repeat on Monday at 4 pm
