Yes even I thought he was doing everything the opposite of what an actual devrakshika rituals should do only because he is fulfilling his duty as a husband while he won't force her to do the same. Maddhav is surely breaking all the rules following the opposite of the rituals. He wants her to be there all the time so he can keep an eye on her. As he said, manu has to live only for him. She is his from now on. Maddhav is doing everything and that too in front of everyone and nobody has anything to say. He is smart! Lol!
