Manasvini aka Manu:
The only son of the King's younger brother Madhav is a haughty young boy who finds girls very silly at this age. He hates his servants and comes up with many pranks to escape them. His only friend is Manu, who he doesn't consider a girl as she is smaart and courageous like him. They have a secret place that they meet every day at. He is possessive about Manu and hates it if she keeps him waiting. Arrogant at the palace but an equal with Manu, he shares his dreams with her. The two also reveal their secrets to each other where he tells Manu about the Nagmani in the Palace and Manu reveals that their new friend Maya was an Icchadhari ( Shape changing snake).
Manasvini aka Manu:
At the age of 13, Manu is beautiful in an old world way. She is intelligent, dedicated, righteous, fearless and pure. Since childhood Manu has been trained to be a Dev Rakshak of the original Garuda Temple in the world. And belonging to this ancient family of protectors, Manu had grown up with many restrictions, knowing that she would never have a normal life and would join the temple at 18. Yet, she is a very happy child. But it is Maadhav, the prince of this dynasty that she is happiest with. Unaware of her beauty and unconscious of Maadhav being a boy Manu shares a very platonic friendship with Maadhav.
Maya aka Icchhadhaari:
Maya is beautiful in a wild way, with Gypsy hair and Gypsy clothes, light eyes and tattoos. Maya is striking and dangerously pretty. Maya can only be human post sunset and return to creature hood at the first ray of the sun. But her power seem to be growing with each Full Moon and her human hours become longer. Maya meets Manu just after dark every day hiding from the village and Manu's parents.She is in awe of Manu and emulates her as she is new to the human form. Manu talks a lot about Maadhav but won't let Maya meet him as she had to be kept a secret. But, when Maadhav discovers Maya with Manu, the seeds of jealousy are sown in Maya's heart and she kills Manu to win the love of this young prince Maadhav, who would also lead her to the Nagmani.
